Subject: Dogfighting 101 [Axis x Waddle-Dee] Wed Apr 22, 2020 10:59 am
"You know that when I, uhm, made this invitation, I was kinda expecting the new guys to come."
Axis gave a deadpan stare to the possee of Waddle-Dees in front of her. Her lips began to form a pout as emotions started building up inside of her. "AWWW COME ON!!! I wanted to show the newbies how cool I am, but now it's just you, Dees!" She said, crossing her arms and continuing to pout. "When am I gonna get another chance to show them how cool I ammmmm.................. and how cool flying in space isssssss..........." She began pacing around, tapping her foot and all in all demonstrating her discontent. "Like, sureee, the radar's picked up on some hostiles outside, so I'm gonna be heading out anyways, but this isn't how I imagined this at all! What're all the newbies even doing? They're new, they should be lounging around all day without a thing to do! Or is the Cap relying on them so much already... ... Well, anyways, Dees, what kind of ship are you even flying? You know the models, right? We have the Standard, the Speeder, the Cannon and the Tank."
Personal Ship Models:
For Dogfights, you'll be using special personal fighter spaceships designed to integrate Modules and Plugs into outer space combat. These ships work by loading your Module into them and summoning the Personas from your Plugs in order to use their attacks. Usually this works not by manifesting the Persona itself, but simply by proxy of "loading" its attack into the ship's own weaponry, though aberrant cases are also present. For example, Axis herself fights using the Urobune Plug by jumping out of the ship and personally attacking the enemy mid flight.
There are four models of Personal Ships: Standard, Speeder, Cannon and Tank. You can probably assume their specialties. Their stats will be explained below.
Standard Personal Ship:
Module Rating: 10 Movement Speed: 8 Attack Power Modifier: 0% Defense Modifier: 0%
Special Maneuvers: >Barrel Roll | Boosts user's Movement Speed by 4 for one turn. Allows user to pass through an enemy without provoking a combat round during this turn. | 4 turn cooldown
Speeder Personal Ship:
Module Rating: 8 Movement Speed: 12 Attack Power Modifier: 0% Defense Modifier: -10%
Special Maneuvers: >Hit & Run | Boosts user's Movement Speed by 4 for one turn. Allows user to move up to their maximum Movement Speed after a combat round during this turn. | 4 turn cooldown
Cannon Personal Ship:
Module Rating: 8 Movement Speed: 8 Attack Power Modifier: +20% Defense Modifier: -10%
Special Maneuvers: >Artillery | Allows user to attack from 6 spaces away during this turn. | 4 turn cooldown
Tank Personal Ship:
Module Rating: 8 Movement Speed: 6 Attack Power Modifier: -10% Defense Modifier: +30%
Special Maneuvers: >Energy Shield | Reduces's user's Movement Speed by 6 for 1 turn. Reduces damage taken by user by 50% until the start of user's next turn. | 4 turn cooldown
QaS: Pick a Personal Ship Model. Note: You can change this later.

The Waddle-dee's piled into the hangar, well there was already a large amount of them in the hanger to begin with working on the ships there and doing maintenance, but more piled in to answer the request that Axis had made, though as they stood there and waved at here she seemed to get a bit pouty over the fact that the new people were not there at all and one of the Waddle-dee's took out a notepad and wrote down on it before scooting over to Axis and handing it to her.
"The new people are all dealing with other things or trying to relax after the situation we had just finished leaving, also our Trouble-Bubbles are Speed types" The little Waddle-dee's all gave Axis a salute and hearing there were enemies inbound they were glad they were here to help as other waddle-dee's started to prep the swarms of Trouble-Bubbles for Sortie.

"Oh, right, the Trouble-Bubbles." Axis exclaimed, clapping her hands together. "How could I forget those ships, they're literally everywhere here." She gave a short laugh. "Right, so, now you've gotta load your Modules into the ship. I suppose you recall how to do that too, right?"
Loading Plugs into a Personal Ship:
When loading Plugs into a personal ship, it's important to note that you can bring a minimum of 1 Plug and a maximum of 3 Plugs. When loading Plugs into a ship, you have to choose which Plug will be loaded into which slot and there are 3 slots in every ship.
Left Slot | Middle Slot | Right Slot
Plugs loaded into the Left and Right slots are supplementary Plugs, while the one loaded into the Middle slot is the main Plug. Only the main Plug receives the combined stats of itself and the user of the Plug, while the supplementary Plugs only have access to their own stats. For example, Axis loads the Urobune Plug into the Middle slot. Look down.
Left Slot | Urobune | Right Slot
Urobune's stats would equal its own stats + Axis's stats. If she were to load Urobune into a supplementary slot, its stats wouldn't include Axis's character stats. No Plugs benefit from user's equipment and Passive Soul Skills, Strengths and Weaknesses during Dogfights. Each Plug benefits from their own Arcana Bonus separately. Each Plug benefits from their own Passive skills separately.
The main Plug is the Plug used by the ship's mainframe to be able to fly. Thus, if your main Plug is defeated, you won't be able to move your ship anymore. You would be able to move again if someone came and revived your main Plug though. However, that doesn't mean the supplementary Plugs are unimportant. While you have at least one supplementary Plug with remaining HP, your main Plug will only receive half damage from all attacks! So focusing on the opponent's Middle Slot is a viable strategy if you want to end the fight quickly, but might be difficult to pull off.
Additionally all three Plugs get actions of their own, so if you have all 3 Plugs loaded, you could perform up to 3 actions per turn!
Keep note of your Plugs separately during Dogfights, please. For example:
Other Waddle-dee's continued to get the ships ready as the squad listened to Axis, it was the polite thing to do after all, as well as a refresher never hurt when being taught by the person that knew the most about the subject, and the Waddle-dee's all nodded and gave a little Salute as she asked them if they knew how to load their modules onto their ships and they started to do just that prepping the ships for take off while still listening to her.
Arcana Boost:Users have a latent 10% boost in damage resistance against physical-based attacks (this is separate from the PEnd stat) and a 10% boost to their Ppstr stat.
"Right then, I think that's it. I'll remind you of the basics once we get out there, so let's go!" Axis said as she ran up to her spaceship-a dolphin shaped blue ship that looked built for speed and maneuverability. She started it up, lights flashing in her cabin as she detached her Module and placed it in the ship's interface. Her form changed to that of Urobune as her engine started and she flew out of the hangar, presumably followed by a bunch of Trouble-Bubbles.
Axis's Ship (Speeder Model):
Module Rating: 3/8 Movement Speed: 12 Attack Power Modifier: 0% Defense Modifier: -10%
Special Maneuvers: >Hit & Run | Boosts user's Movement Speed by 4 for one turn. Allows user to move up to their maximum Movement Speed after a combat round during this turn. | 4 turn cooldown >Reckless Speed | Boosts user's Movement Speed by 12 for one turn. User takes 30% more damage until the start of their next turn. | 6 turn cooldown
"Ok, Waddle-Dees! You should go attack the group of Shadows to the North of you! With your speedy spaceships you should be able to reach them! Just come in close and fire away with your attacks, easy!"
Actions & Combat in Dogfighting:
Actions During Dogfights, you get an action per loaded Plug, meaning that each of your Plugs can take an independent actions during the same turn, giving you up to three actions per turn. On top of that, you can move and use any Special Maneuvers at will and without cost, though your Maneuvers have cooldowns. You can use Soul Skills instead of your Middle Plug's action. It counts as if the Middle Plug was using the Soul Skill in that situation.
Engaging in Combat Rounds You need to get to a space adjacent to an enemy to attack them. When you attack them, your turn plays out normally as it would. The opposing party doesn't get to hit you back just because you hit them, regardless of distance. You can move up to your remaining movement after attacking. Pretty simple!
Note that downing an enemy is impossible in outer space, so even if you hit an enemy weakness, you don't get a Once More!
NPCs in Dogfighting NPCs will act independently during Dogfights and you cannot control them like you would control a Tension Support.

The waddle-dee's all nodded as they hopped into their ships and a swarm of Trouble-Bubbles sped out of the hangar after Axis, Forming up in a cloud of them off to her left as they made it outside.
the ships were fast, not very tough or powerful, but they made up for that in sheer numbers, the little ships looking like Stereo typical UFO's just small and, they seemed to have their own little set of eyes, though it was just decoration...right? regardless the little ships followed out into space
As they finished forming up and Axis gave her order to attack and where the Waddle-dee's gave a salute as the large cloud of them moved out to attack the enemy, and when they got there they started to swarm all over it, blasting at it with wind blasts and their newly gained plugs, attacking from all angles before peeling off and trying to get some distance.

Objects in Space:
There are many objects flying through space. During Dogfights, you must take care not to stay in an object's trajectory so that it doesn't hit you. If you get hit by an object, all your Plugs will take damage. This goes for the enemies as well, so you might try luring them into a vulnerable position if you want to.
You also can't pass through the spaces occupied by any objects.

Hearing her advice the Waddle-dee's nodded and gave a little salute as they watched her attack the ship they just did a run on, turning the Swarm around they spotted another enemy closing on Axis, and so they increased their speed and did a quick pass on their first target, and moved on to engaging the second target heading their way with their remaining two plugs, trying to disable the craft before it could enter the fight.

The Waddle-dee's could see the enemy ships moving in, and some of the ships in the swarm got damaged, but they wheeled around and launched another attempt to debilitate the ship that just attacked them, then they broke off and flew towards the weakened enemy and swarmed it blasting it with powerful blasts of slicing air from their plugs before moving on to regroup with Axis.

Taking a hard hit from some concentrated fire, some of the Waddle-dee swarm was forced to break off and head back to the S.S. Phil for repairs leaving at high speed, the rest of the swarm meanwhile broke off from the two enemies that were engaging it, and the Waddle-dee sent a message to Axis via text
"Need to try to stick together, focus fire, for the moment regroup with us please, and any suggestions on target? also do you have means to repair?"
After sending the message along with the coordinates they will be going to, they moved in to support Axis, doing a quick flyby of the heavily damaged ship and then passing along side Axis briefly before doing a pass on the second enemy and attempting to disable it.
