Time for some summer fun!

Are you tired of being hunted by the lapdogs of the government? Exhausted from rounding up kids in cosplay who are out past their curfew? Perhaps you're just sick of clowns? Then escape from it all and take a much-needed break this season: take a trip to Isle de Fillér! Enjoy the scenic beauty of the beach, socialize with friends and foes alike, participate in fun-filled group activities, and purchase special prizes with your growing collection of rare Seashells! Anything is possible when it's non-canonical... anything's possible at Isle de Fillér.

What is New Arcana Summer Fest?

New Arcana Summer Fest is the site's first extended seasonal event. Starting this 4th of July and continuing until late September, players will be able to access a new area and a whole host of new features with it. You'll be able to roleplay with other members and compete in various minigames to earn Seashells which you can use to buy limited time items. These items will be found at a single shop, but as time goes on the proprietors of it will switch in and out, a new set of items exclusive to them emerging to take the place of the previous ones. This means you'll need to spend your earnings wisely and pick and choose which items to buy before the next line-up arrives to replace the current selection. However, at the end of the event, a raffle will be held where you'll be able to spend any leftover shells and some earlier items may reappear... maybe even the ones that caught your eye if you're lucky.

How Are Seashells Earned?

As mentioned before seashells will be earned through Social Link style roleplay threads and through minigames run by staff members. Social threads will grant one shell per member and each participant will need to write 500 words total to receive their share. You can do as much of them as you want at a time, but the maximum amount you can submit for a reward per month is 10. Minigames meanwhile can reward anywhere between 1 and 6 shells (1 being the minimum that you'll receive just for playing and 6 being reserved for particularly exceptional performances in difficult games). But while social threads can be done at any time, minigames will be available periodically in sessions, so keep an eye out for the sign-ups for each session! And of course, remember to keep track of your Seashells: in the vein of Compendiums we'll have an area for you to record all details and transactions in.

How Do Minigames Work?

Each minigame will receive its own section in the Isle de Fillér area. Details on them and their rules will be posted there alongside the sign-ups and the actual play sessions themselves. Only two will be available at the start, but more will be revealed as time goes on and in the later stages of the event you might see special variants or conditions arise for existing ones.

Some minigames will be team-based and almost all will pit you against other players. Because of this, you'll have the option of choosing to select another member to be your Confidant. If you participate in a minigame with your Confidant (whether working together or against each other) you'll both receive an extra shell on top of whatever you earn during the course of it. Keep in mind though that you'll each need to agree to it, neither of you will be able to select anyone else, and this choice will be set in stone for the rest of the event. There'll be a stickied thread for you to post to when you're ready to confirm your selection.
