| Subject: Bonds and Research (Noctis' Awakening) Tue Sep 17, 2013 12:01 am | |
| Noctis would walk into the Velvet Room slowly, noticing few Attendants were around. The room remained as blue as ever, and he would soon pop a blue lollipop into his mouth, which turned out to be a blueberry flavor. It sseemed to fit the environment. And there was a particular something that he would have to do in this visit, rather than visit guests and converse with them. It was not even his plan to ask about research and reflect on the various things he had learned. Well, it was, but fr a different reason. Lately he has been coming across more and more people that have been seriously needing some sort of assistance. Noctis himself did like to bond with those who had unlocked their potential, but it had become clear over time that it may not become the major goal after all. The people were in need of verbal assistance as well as help in combat. Noctis had mulled over it in his mind, and had decided to buck up his own courage. He was ready to finally take it upon himself and ask for something he felt he was ready to receive. With that in mind, after a brief pause, and addition of a yellow lollipop after the blue was finished, he would walk over to Master Igor who was here. What perfect timing. “Master Igor,” Noctis would say giving a modest bow to him. He was the creator of who they were, and as such, should be treated with respect. Noctis would give a welcoming smile as Igor remained his enigmatic stare. “Good day Noctis. What can I do to assist you?” he would inquire. Noctis would feel a bit humbled, but would give off his smile and looked at the Master’s face, consisting of his white hair, and his larger than average nose. “I wanted to ask you about something,” Noctis would begin. “Lately it has come to my attention that there are ones who have unlocked their potential that are in need of assistance…some of which we cannot provide, at least in my own opinion,” he said. He would not particularly pause to see if Igor had a response, instead, he would pop a taffy candy into his mouth, slightly slurring his speech from then on. “So, I…I wanth to help them. I want to prooth to those who cannot get our assistance no matter how hard they try, that we can not only be trusted, but are also reliable,” he said, finally finishing his candy, keeping the lollipop stick into his mouth, before looking Igor dead in the eye, dropping his smile for once. “I humbly ask for my own Compendium. Please, Master,” he would say, lowering his head and remaining silent. Being humble was not something he was used to, but he was positive this is what it felt like. To feel this way is surely something humans may feel. It would be his one chance to relate to them, and sure, his research could grow. The main point however, would now be to help the ones who cannot be helped directly by the Attendants. He would be the one to do so while the others would remain busy. He would feel a tap on his shoulder, and only slightly looking up to see a golden book, dornished with a flower on the cover in front of his eyes, placed on the table between him and Igor. Noctis would look at Igor and he would keep his stare upon him. "The realization that there are more pressing matters than your own. That there are ones with potential to assist. That is how you earned this. Never forget your role," he said. Noctis' look of surprise was so wide, the lollipop stick would fall from his mouth. However, it would soon turn into a wide grin as he slowly took the golden book, holding it in his hands and looking back at him. "Th-thank you!" he would say, before moving to open it, but instead holding it at his side. Truly there was still time to get his chance to do what he was put here for. And he could not be happier. He would give a lower bow to Igor, before turning to smile at the other Attendants, who would pay him no mind. He would walk through, forgetting the lollipop that one other Attendant would soon relent to pick up. And Noctis would give himself one last lollipop, orange. Despite his indifference to the flavor, it had never been sweeter that day when he left the Velvet Room. | |
