“...Am I? I’ve always thought I’ve been a decent fella,” Shouhei lied through his smiling teeth, but said it so convincingly and naturally that it could have been passed off as truth. “After all, you invited me out for drinks, bud.”

"Hey, I wasn't going to just blow you off after saying to make my own amends from that first meeting. I'm not so much an ass as to milk you for free food and run for the hills." He takes a swig of his lemonade, thinking back. "...besides. Somebody told me you'd just appreciate the meeting. And I kind of know that feeling, when you're stuck in that sort of situation."
He pauses. "...though that may just be me reading into that too much."

“...There ya go, askin’ around for relationship advice again,” instead of addressing the truth, Shouhei preferred to tease at this moment. Of course he appreciated the company, let alone someone offering him free drinks. Whether or not he’d admit to it aloud was another matter. After laughing, he chugged the entire contents of his beer in multiple gulps.

“...Yeah you sound like you’re in your own head too much. I say get outta there, cut loose, get some air, and really uhh… taste that lemonade.”

Cecil rolls his eyes and grins. "I don't know. Heard that before a while ago, but I think I'm spending a pretty good amount of time in my head at this point." He smirks. "Maybe you just need to spend more time using that head of yours."

“...Me? Not usin’ my head? It might be empty a lotta the time, but that don’t mean I neglect to use it,” huffed Shouhei in stern response until a loud burp escaped his lips, which curled into a coy smile.

“Guess we can learn from each other.”

With that said, the two began to learn a little more about one another, but the rest of the night proceeded mostly as Shouhei making fun little jabs at Cecil’s expense. Jules would hop into their conversation from time to time, also joining in the amusement.

Free drinks, good times. What else was there to ask for?
