Crossing the Divide (Mina/Cecil)

At his questioning of whether she was okay to go, Mina gestured ahead of her for him to take the lead. "I am perfectly ready to walk. I am more concerned of your own state if it is such a trek. Although I suppose such exercise would be good for keeping your stamina up." She declared, taking strides just behind the young man. "So, you say to find something to do. Is this what I have heard of that is known as 'window shopping'?" She inquired, head cocked somewhat to the side for a moment.

Acknowledging the gesture, Cecil set off, looking back and then to his side as Mina caught up with him. "I mean, it's not like I don't already spend a lot of time out. You, uh...well, can't exactly imagine you really go anywhere if past interactions say anything. I can't really imagine there's much place to go or that much to do in there, either..." He shrugs. "So, uh...yeeeah...wouldn't imagine you'd get much exercise..."

He raises an eyebrow at the question. "Hmm...I guess, sort of...? We may end up doing that in the end, but that's more to about browsing over stuff you might find interesting but don't really mean to buy...I was more thinking finding more of an actual activity or something."

Humming to herself, Mina put a hand to her chin in thought at Cecil's words. How would be the best way to remind him of the fact she wasn't technically human? Nonchalantly, the attendant shrugged, before chiming in. "As one who presides over power, I can assure you that I am in physically fine condition. Remember, the Velvet Room is something somewhat outside of your expectations of reality. Partly because it lies between dream and reality, if you recall. However do not think too hard on it. Just know, that while your concern is appreciated, there is no need."

That done, Mina once more hummed in thought at Cecil's suggestions. "So, adventuring forth into the city to find an unknown. That sounds like some romanticised version of an archaeologist in a way. But, ignore my postulation. I am merely musing to myself. Please, lead on."

"...ah."
Of course the supernatural entity got to cheat physical fitness.
"I hope you appreciate that. A lot of people would kill to get benefits like you get."

Cecil smiled wryly at the description. It was an interesting way of looking at something that seemed so mundane to him. "Alright, if you say so." Chuckling to himself, he set his sights on the path ahead.
There was a ways to go after all.


It took a while to hit the Backlight, fumbling through conversation on the way. Mina was, uh-
Ok, she was not a person he found it easy to talk to.
Pfft. Would have said that about everyone before.
But they were there, now. Stores, restaurants, and other establishments lay either side of them, the two cutting a path through the crowds. "Well, welcome to the Backlight. There's all sorts if you look around."
