Another Man's Trash [Gabe/Archie]

"Pffft, not so sure you should be tied down to a single girl? Don't tell me ya are after some other booty behind her back." He'd playfully elbow Gabe on the side for a bit but his focus would return to the gift subject. "Bet she'd like that. If she doesn't like my gift idea i'll totally pay your next date with her... Now c'mon, we got some trash to go over."

"No, that's not what i meant to say at all Archie. Nevermind..."

If he didn't really get it, he won't if Gabe kept pushing it. It was better to leave those conversations that involved pondering life and thing of the sort to have with someone else. Since Archie wanted to be more lighthearted about things, they could do that as well.

"I'll check that side, you check the other side. And yes Archie, i'm definitely holding you to that. But i'll make sure it's cheap, like an ice cream sundae. Don't wanna break your wallet. "

Gabe started to look in one of the piles , hoping he could find something.

"Nah man, go wild. Your lady deserves a good treatment." He had a stash of money for special occasions and could likely cover an expensive date, though its not likely he'd actually pay. Disappearing outta the radar is way easier. He needed that stashed money for other things, emergencies and so on. Maybe gramps will need it someday, who knows. Archie would give the gambler a nod before heading to the other direction, he'd go through the junk, separating some stuff that picked his attention while looking for anything that might fit what Gabe wanted.

"Yo, if you don't mind me asking, what your girl does for a living?"Archibald spoke up, trying to start some more small talk while going through the junk,

"From what I remember her telling me, she works for the government. Seems like a dangerous job, but from what I figure about the woman, I don't think she takes an active role in the front lines. And you know what? That's ok too, people still need payroll and those to negotiate health insurance and lawyers for unions and things of the sort. Real life can still happen while we are surrounded by the extraordinary, I believe that some jobs still have value and things of the sort. "

He felt like it was ok to share that, most people are proud of the government and what they represented. Ther were still awful terrorists around that just wished to cause carnage and do harm, the government had their uses. It was everything else that they did behind closed doors that Gabe didn't like, but nobody cared about the truth. Or better yet, he didn't think Archie did.
