Rising, Falling (Cecil)

Nadia smiled softly as he placed her arms around him, and let him stay like that for a long while. Just...sitting. this was good. She rested her chin on his shoulder and felt herself nodding off again.

At length, she moved one hand up and pushed aside the earphone closest to her. "I don't really need to go back tonight. We can stay here...if you want. We can share the bed. No funny stuff I promise." she said tiredly, blinking contentedly at him. "just sleeping. Maybe...more of this, if you want." she qualified. Somehow, she didn't feel like walking back to the Inn alone, or watching him walk away.

As he lay there within Nadia's arms, as time passed, Nadia would be able to feel the tension gradually drain from his body. A little weight, chipped away at bit by bit and set aside for now. He'd have to take it back up later, but for now...he didn't have to.
He could just let thought drain away, and let sensation empty his mind.

He rouses a little as he feels an earphone be pushed away, one sound being traded for another. He moves into the girl he'd draped over him a little more, speaking in a quiet murmur. "Just...let me stay like this. Not have to move...not have to think. Just...do this. Just this."

With a small smile, Nadia nodded, and replaced the headphone. She breathed out a small breath and resumed her silent vigil, and after a few minutes, drifted of to sleep against his shoulder, arms loosening around him.

For a while he stayed like that. He smiled a little as he felt her arms slack, and after a bit he unplugged his headphones and set them to the side before settling back in again.
With the music gone, all that was left was the quiet of the room, and the steady rhythm of Nadia's breaths. As he pulled her arms around him again, he focused on that, letting that be his only thought for the while.

...

Cecil looked peaceful as he too drifted off.

On the road of Life we travel we will often walk with our companions. Along with them will we travel on our Journey, keeping them closer for companionship and warmth, protection from the throes of Life and Death. And in it we find ourselves wandering. The comfort slows our progress and one can only speak so long of the same sights before we retread the same path in steps, deed, and word. Yet travel on will we.
