A Game of Chess [Open]

After all his tasks for the remainder of the day were completed, Yuri found himself with the rare luxury of free time. He could do whatever he wished, and today that would be to hopefully play a match of chess against whoever wished to do so. The library wasn't terribly busy today, and that's the first place he thought of to find an opponent. Sitting down in a chair, he pulled his board and pieces out from his bag, setting them up, the black team towards him, and white towards the other side of the table. To let the other take the first move is only proper when you are the one hosting the game. With everything set up, 'Now I wait and bide my time,' he thought, crossing his legs.

Lupin headed into the library in the hope of finding a book about pogo sticks you know business as usual. he notices a strange individual with a chess board set up but no one seems to be playing with him so Lupin asked the individual this.

Hey there is anyone playing you at the moment?

Lupin points to the board and begins to ask. "Do you mind that I play with you?"

Someone finally approached! How wonderful... "No, I'm alone. I was waiting on someone to come. Let us begin. White acts first." Yuri motioned towards the pieces opposite of him and waited.

"Oh wow ok then thanks." Lupin was quite excited to play chess. He begins by moving the horse on his left into space C3 on the board.

That's a good starting move. You'd have to come up with something sneaky to counter that. Luckily, Yuri came prepared. He decided to move his pawn to A5. "Do you play often?" he asked. The stranger did clearly know the rules, at least, so this could be challenge.

Lupin looks happy about receiving the complaint and there is a smirk on his face Lupin moved his pawn on D2 to D4 and Lupin responded while smiling with a simple statement.

"My older brother taught me how to play when I wasn't bouncing on my pogo stick I would sit and play chess for a few hours." Lupin had made his move and now sitting waiting in anticipation for his opponent next move.

"Oh my name is Lupin by the way what's your name?"

"Several hours? That's a long time," he said as he moved his knight from B8 to C6. "My name is Yuri. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Lupin is carefully analysising the board then moving the bishop on his left to F4 Lupin seeming quite happy with the conversation at hand said. "May I ask you the same question as you did earlier, how long have you been playing chess for?"

Lupin is now looking at Yuri with the upmost curiosity.

Using his knight on C6 to take Lupin's pawn on D4, he answered "I've known how to play since I was young, though rarely got a chance to." While all of his needs and more were met, his parents were far from attentive. "I moved here from Moscow. Endymion is a much more lively city." While every place on Earth had its own secrets, especially this one, the liveliness aspect of Endymion was still true all throughout. He'd met quite an impressive number of people in such a small period of time. That included Lupin, in front of him. After a few moments, he asked "Where did you come from?"

Lupin moved his bishop on F4 to take the Pawn on C7. Lupin began thinking about the last few years of his life although set out to be miserable the orphans and the other three big bros gave him a sense of family trying to not choke with emotion Lupin responded to the question with his head held high.

"I came from an orphanage called LunaWell located in a small town called Selene located to the south of Endymion city, it was one of the few areas in the world that is slowly putting itself back together."

Lupin smiled as if finding a ray of hope in the future.
"I was sent here by one of my older brothers to get an education and a well-payin job."

Lupin then asked another question. "Why did you come to Endymion aside from the eternal divide and all of that, you know what I mean right?

Lupin has an akward look on his face looking he dosen't know how to push this converstation foward.

Yuri moved his queen from D8 to take Lupin's bishop on C7. It's good to have ambition, to learn and to work. When the tide of questioning turned back his way, he responded "I came to further my life. I want to meet new people." Yuri didn't want to work for or inherit his parents' company. If he did, he wouldn't have time to do anything a person should do with their life. Make friends, contribute to their community, or anything productive. Looking back at Lupin, he asked "Are you going to work part-time, or study to pursue a certain career path?"

Lupin moved his queen on D1 to take Yuri horse on D4. Lupin always had one goal to ensure the future of the LunaWell Orphanage but unfortunately, skills on a pogo stick won't help that much but with a determined face, Lupin respond. "Call me dumb for not think it through but as it stands now I am actually planning a career in being a performer, I am really good with a pogo stick believe it or not."

Lupin face beings to show a worried look. "Alias while it is my passion to bounce on my pogo stick I don't think its a stable carrer, So I have been thinking of alternatives."

Lupin then starts to explain. "Really I just want to anything in the entertainment industry be it acting, performing, scriptwriter and I am willing to go as far as starting a casino."

Lupin trying to cheer up goes on another tangent. "Seriously the world is so depressing now with all this demon stuff going on I just want to give people some hope again and let them smile." Lupin seemed relived to have that stuff off his chest.

Yuri moved his pawn on E7 to E5. "That's nice. I'm sure you can succeed." Giving joy to people is a wonderful goal, very honorable. Luckily, he came prepared. "Do you have skill with acting?" Knowing someone good at that could potentially have a use, pulling off some absurd act that would require more than one person.

Lupin moved his queen piece from D3 back to D1 to keep it protected and begins to think back on his experiences with entertaining people and then starts delving into more of his history. "Well I have been using a pogo stick to shock and amaze people for about 12 years at this stage I have gotten really good at it, seriously I can pull off some crazy stuff dude. Lupin starts to talk about the pogo stick origins. "I can't believe some punk rich kid would throw this away it has such a good bounce to it its incredible. I can't say its all high points there were times were that same rich kid would threaten kids in my orphanage to get to stop bouncing, I proceeded to tell him no can't make me. Well, that went on for a couple of years, I think he mad not because he was jealous of my skills I think it was more I was impressing his sister in a way which makes it look like I was hitting on her, you know young teen stuff. Lupin then begins to ask Yuri another question. "Hey Yuri what was it like at your home?"

Yuri moved his pawn on D7 to D6. Lupin must really enjoy pogo sticks. "Good grief, I wonder why someone would hold such a grudge against pogo sticks. He sounds to be quite an unpleasant individual." Perhaps that kid left a slight disdain of the rich in Lupin's mind. When questioned about his own past, "My parents were inattentive. They provided my basic needs, though. I had no siblings, and children were scare in my neighbourhood, so I spent most of it at the library." He left out that the library was part of his parents' mansion, rather than a public one. "I once heard it said 'With a car you can go anywhere.' I suppose that pogo stick is your car."
