| Megumi Mizushima "Friends are a bunch of people striving for the same goal, but for different reasons."
The Biography
|
Birth Name: Megumi Mizushima Aliases: Megi Gender: Female Age: 17 Birth Day: 17th November Arcana: Magician Place of Residence: School dorms School Year: 2nd year Class: 2-A Theme: This will be the day
After School Club: N/A
Part Time Job: N/A
Appearance: Megumi being 161cm high and having 58kg, makes her look slightly younger than she really is. Her build is a hybrid between skinny and normal build teen, her skin is rather pale, though. She is rather passive person, but she eats healthy and not so much, in order to keep herself in so-so shape. She has almost no muscle, but she is a speedy little bugger and can lift some heavier things, which leaves her exhausted for a bit, unfortunately. Megumi's hair used to be long, blonde and straight - a perfect cute little daughter. However, she strongly disliked being blonde and when she was 15 she decided to dye and cut them. Her hair became short and messy (she always has few bangs over her eyes, which makes her angry), black as midnight. However, to completely cover her hair in black dye, she has to use a fair amount of it to keep the look natural and visit the bathroom quite often. Not healthy at all, but she doesn't really care, as long as she's not blonde. Her eyes are sharp lime that seem to cut into your very soul, if you stare into them for too long. They are almost always hidden behind her tinned gamer's glasses, though. Nobody knows if those lime eyes are contacts or not. Megumi's voice is usually cheery, one can easily say that something's wrong. Despite this, her voice is a bit deeper than average girl's one, which results into people thinking she's a tomboy.
Her wardrobe is quite simple. She prefers more loose clothing, though. Words like: skirt, dress, high heels, etc. have no meaning for her. That includes make-up, for that matter. When outside on free warmer days, she usually wears slithly loose black jeans - whether it is warm, or it is cold (she has several black jeans that look identical), plain sneakers, and t-shirts with motifs of various videogames or one-colored shirt with loose yellow tie. On colder days she adds a hoodie. In winter she wears a thick jacket with hood that is trimmed with artificial fur & winter cap that is bigger than her head and the upper rest of the cap is just hanging down. However, what makes her a notable person are her glasses. She shouldn't be wearing them outside, since they are protecting her eyes against the computer screen and not really against the sun, but she got attached to them over time. There are few more things that Megumi keeps with her almost always, besides the glasses. It's her smartphone, wallet, keys and at least one lollipop. Her smartphone has orange back and sides and the wallet is orange aswell. She keeps her wallet in the back pocket of her jeans, while her smartphone is always in the right front pocket.
Personality: Megumi seems like a tomboy who tries to act kind of tough, when u first see/meet her, which is not true. She is actually a girl that's ashamed of herself, because she's nothing like other girls of her age. She shares no interest in boys, parties, fashion. She's all into math, informatics, videogames, literature, fanfiction, music composing and such things. She says that she's more of a thinker, than a do'er. Maybe a bit too much of a thinker, sometimes. However, the fact she likes 'strange' stuff for somebody like herself, unintentionally pushed her away from the society. As time passed, she finally realized it. Her schoolmates rarely talked to her, they thought she's a weirdo, maybe not even a girl at all. It made her upset at first, but later on she got used to it. She even distanced herself from everybody on her own. She tends to be alone, looking on her feet or just staring into something only her covered eyes can see. She may not seem like it, but she's really happy on the inside, when somebody talks to her. Don't judge a book by its cover, right?
Megumi likes to help her schoolmates with their math studies or homeworks (or anything of sorts), however, she just can't do it in a simple way, her explaining is a bit too much for a regular brain, so she gave up on that aswell. She's still up for that if somebody wants to, though. Despite all this, if she gets invited out, she will accept it 90% of the time.

The Potential
|
Strengths:
—Strength Name: Music composer —Description: On quiet evenings, when none of her online friends are available, she either reads a book with good tea or decides to compose music. She has few 'masterpieces'. That actually yields her some extra money, by selling them on a specific site for a symbolic price.
—Strength Name: Observing and deductive skills —Description: By participating in few experiments and competitions in physics she developed the ability to observe the objects well, and then hypothesize in what they changed and why they changed after the experiment. That, unfortunately, doesn't include people.
—Strength Name: Quick reflexes —Description: While playing many various Single player games, MMO's, etc. etc., her fingers became fast as wind. By playing PvP it only sharpened her reflexes, pressing buttons, clicking with mouse and having an overview over her game's interface. This doesn't really apply on her legs, but sometimes she does react quickly, but fails to, most of the time.
—Strength Name: Teamplayer —Description: Once again, while playing MMO's she refined her skills with talking with other people, listening to what they have to say. Even though she is fine with being teamed-up, sometimes she just prefers to be alone.
Weaknesses:
—Weakness Name: Overthinking —Description: This may not seem like a problem at first. However, sometimes, when something really interests her, she starts to hypothesize, then creating theories, thinking of the possibilities that it could... Oh wait! This makes her completely oblivious to everything around her. It sometimes happens to her just out of a blue (once she almost became a roadkill), even during her gaming-sessions.
—Weakness Name: Lack of leadership —Description: She may have logical thinking, slight deductive and observing skills, but she hates the feeling of people depending on her too much. She feels uncomfortable deciding 'fate' of others, having to think about what could happen to her, not even mentioning to others, if she chose wrong (She's something like Yosuke: "I'm fine playing second banana." ... Just not playing 'banana', I guess.).
—Weakness Name: Fear of the feeling of uselessness —Description: She is scared to death at the thought that nobody needs her, won't need her. She realizes this, but tries to hide it behind other excuses, running away. She could never find her true purpose for existence... So she tries to find it by being needed by somebody. Desperately trying.
—Weakness Name: People thinking she's a male —Description: Megumi purely hates people who just stare at her and whisper to their friend while looking at her. Many people, if not all, are slightly confused at her appearance, most guessing she's a male. Especially, when sometimes a person comes up to her and asks if she's a male or female, or asks something in a way she's a bloke. These situations literally drive her mad, at first just being really irritated, but quickly escalating to shouting and even hostility if the person just doesn't get it.
Soul Bound Weapon:
Weapon Name: Zenith Weapon Description: An ivory white 0.45m long katana combined with chainsaw. The blade is a bit thicker, since it has to deal with the weight of the chain. Medium weight overall, still offers a bit of agility, not as much a regular katana, though. Oh, it also has a fancy-shmancy red hilt. Weapon Image: Zenith! Weapon Attack Type: Slash Weapon Element: N/A

The Background
|
History: Megumi was born to a kind of above average family. Her mother - Ayaka Mizushima - is a psychologist and her father - Yuuta Mizushima - is a manager is some unknown company. Megumi has no siblings or knows any other family members other than her own parents. However, both of her parents had busy jobs, leaving almost no time for Megumi. So Megumi grew up rather distantly from her parents, finding refuge in her room, and her dad's old laptop. Her parents cared for her, but couldn't spend enough time with their daughter no matter how hard they tried. Even though her mom is a psychologist, she was too exhausted from other people's problems to notice her own daughter's change. Slowly she started to request a new game, a new headset, a new computer... Her hair change didn't go unnoticed, though. Her father was furious. He didn't speak with her for weeks. Ayaka was too scared of her husband's fury, so she didn't want to anger him further and stayed quiet aswell. Megumi only found refuge in her room and online friends, once again.
When Megumi was younger, she tried her best to be daughter her parents can be proud of... But, as one can tell, it didn't work out. Every little gift she ever made was rewarded with a pat on head and "Good girl" phrase. At first, Megumi didn't do a whole lot on that old laptop. But as she watched various videos, she decided to try out some these MMO's. Ignition for her current passions. However, even though her mom didn't have the time to spend with her daughter, after the "hair incident" she decided to cheer Megumi on in what she likes. That's how Megumi aquired her current really wide collection of games, consoles, books, mangas, comics, even plushies (she does have several shelf-ful of plushies of various sizes) and replicas of items from games.
Last year had several turning points for Megumi. During summer, Ayaka granted Megumi her wish, to go on a convention. If you were to ask her where she had most fun at, this would be it, no doubt. She met several gamers, let's players, commentators, she even got a nice fluffy hat. However, at the convention she also met one more person. Her "bestest" online friend - Jared A.K.A Firefly. He is a year older young English man. They've played so much together and so many games together, they would have hard time recalling it all. After returning back home, her parents called her for a talk. They were going overseas because of their jobs. Megumi thought that it was going to be great, until her dad said that she's transfering to a completely different region. She was baffled at first. Her parents going away and she being all alone...? At a place she wasn't even been to before? She was rather worried. Would she have to work after school to have enough to eat? Her mom brushed everything away, when she said that Megumi will get weekly money on her account to afford food and stuff. Her mom also mentioned school dorms. That was better for Megumi. She knew nobody from her family, so if she had to stay with some relatives, things could get awkward, real quick. And so, year later Megumi arrives to start anew...
