"I suppose you can look at it that way too, that is until you accidentally find the one piece that makes you realize that you've been looking at what you've put together upside down. Sixteen." This fellow actually seemed like he knew his stuff. A rare thing for Gozai to say, or think, as the case now may be.

However, the strange person's sudden bit of dramatic flair would catch him off guard, which didn't help with the terrible pun that followed. Like he'd heard bad puns, but it took a majority of his willpower just not to groan aloud. He'd pull off a slow, closed mouthed chuckle, together with a stiff nod. "Right, I get it." The albino then uttered in a low voice.

"Oh my, that would be unfortunate. I suppose that's why they say 'don't jump the gun.' Eighteen." It seems he knew what he was doing from the start. Then it's been decided! Yuri opened his notebook again, and asked "So what number do you choose?" It was just a formality at this point to ask. Everything, every second spent in the last minute has lead up to this point. The final turn. The air was heavy with anticipation, but he waited and continued to bide his breath. Future generations would recount this historic moment in the ancient documents. Amazing.

"All I'm saying is there's always a certain risk in making judgement calls, until you've at least got all the pieces on hand, or better yet put together." He'd smirk internally, the game was his. Well, it had been since the first turn.

"That said, for most people you simply can't gather all those pieces, much less fit them all together." He'd now let the smirk reflect onto his face. "From what I've gathered thus far, our conversation thus far has had you picking up pieces for that puzzle that is myself. You almost certainly don't have all the pieces, but you have some." With those words he'd lean forward slightly, resting his elbows on the handrests while intertwining his fingers and resting his chin just on his fingertips."Why don't we put what you said before about guessing the full picture with only some of the pieces to the test? Which number do you think I'm going to choose?" Gozai had to admit, as much as that pun just now had been truly godawful, he was having fun with this.

"I've got a picture together." He rested the tip of his pen on a blank spot on the page. 'If I tell him, there's no guarantee he won't just pick something else. Of course, he's aware I know that. There's also no guarantee that he wouldn't have actually picked something else, and pretend I was right.' With a swift motion of his hand, he shut the notebook. 'However, I'll state my belief regardless!' A smirk grew upon Yuri's face as he said "Which number do I think you'll pick? I think... You'll instead say nothing, get up, and leave, preventing me from ever knowing your answer!" He sat back. "Based on what I've put together, that's what I believe is the most likely action you'll take."

There was a sense of excitement to seeing what the other had put together. A smirk? What could that- He didn't even have time to finish the thought when he got his answer. Whoo boy that sure came out of left field. Or whatever that saying was. He chuckled at this, at first, before bursting in to full blown laughter, his hand coming together to slap. "That's-" He'd begin, only for a chuckle to intercept him. "That's brilliant. I hadn't even considered that approach." He seemed to be calming down no, but Gozai would admit, he found himself genuinely amused by this. That said though, he'd push himself up from his seat.

"I will say, I enjoyed that, but I must be off now. That new coffee maker isn't going to pay for itself." Still, he didn't let the nice guy persona slip, and with those words, the albino turned to leave.

Though, before he was quite out of earshot, he'd turn to look over his shoulder toward this strange person. "Twenty."

Of course, that was only natural. 'Congratulations on winning the game of twenty-one, and thank you for your participation.' And thus still at zero was the percentage of people who had lost despite the current number being seventeen through nineteen on their turn. 'What a unique individual. I do not believe I would so easily forget this encounter,' Yuri noted. With the day still just getting started, there was still much to do. 'I must be on my way as well.'

People can be the most curious of things, from the straightforward souls with few secrets to unravel, to the complex and opaque that would hide the pieces of their puzzle.

They can lie between extremes, be blends of aspects of the scale...or two sides of the same coin.

Gozai Kurosuko and Yuri Ivanov have formed a social link.
