| Isaac Fairweather "They say it's the end of the world, but hey, the sun's shining, right?"
The Biography
|
Birth Name: Isaac Fairweather Aliases: Isaac, Fairweather, Fair Gender: Male Age: 18 Birth Day: June 3rd Arcana: Sun Place of Residence: Seven Sisters Dorm Academy Semester: 3 Class:
Sorority: Videogame club, Track and Field, Fencing Club
Part/Full Time Job: Carpenter (Freelance, contract)
Appearance: Isaac stands 5'11, with unkept silver hair that he lets flare out wildly. He typically wears black, grey, blue, or teal colored jackets and coats, with simple or game-related T-shirts underneath. He likes to wear baggy cargo pants of grey, white, or brown.
- Spoiler:
Personality: Isaac is a genuinely good-natured spirit, always willing to help those around him, and a smile as infectious as the mood that comes with it. He has a passion for everything he does, and refuses to do anything without putting in 100% of his effort. He has many hobbies, and this mindset leads often to multi-tasking, which his rapidly functioning mind is all-too prepared for. He can often be found playing a hand-held game in one hand while lifting weights with the other, switching at intervals.
Outgoing as he may seem, Isaac is in truth not as optimistic as he sounds. He maintains his outward demeanor because -well- that's what a hero does to inspire confidence in his ability to save the day. But in reality, all his quick action and determination hides a terror of standing still. He doesn't like how empty his life really feels when it slows down, so he keeps moving, keeps doing, keeps pushing forward, because if he doesn't than he might stop moving.
Isaac has trouble sleeping, and can often be seen running laps around the Campus track or other exercises at night when most of the school is asleep and empty.

The Background
|
History: "My father has a magic sword that he talks to." is cute to tell your classmates right up until they're too old to believe in fairy tales. Then you're the crazy kid in the corner who still believes in magic. Oh, and he's got a crazy dad who talks to medieval weapons. Compounded with the fact that this kid was also capable of flipping a bully on his ass if he tried to take his lunch money, and you've got a recipe for a special kind of outcast.
Isaac Fairweather grew up without much in the way of friends. Only those who he played with online, and those friendships were superficial at best, changing from one game to the next. The thing that didn't change, was his parents. His father and mother were loving, if a little violent. His mother was a police officer, strong and stubborn and calculated. His father was a loud man. Isaac was never sure what his job was. It always seemed to change growing up. The explanations got more and more fanciful until it just became accepted that Isaac wasn't supposed to know. It was fine, because they taught him the things he really wanted to know - how to defend himself, how to defend others, and the whens and whys and responsibilities that went with it.
Before long, Isaac was causing his own kind of trouble. He shifted from defending himself only when he needed to, to defending other kids who were being bullied. And he liked it. He liked it a lot. His parents tied to get him to pick his fights a little bit better, but his body moved before his mind had time to react. He was just like the two of them, running into danger for the sake of others. They were both proud and afraid, as good parents should be.
What about the magic sword? Well, Isaac never saw it do anything magical, but he remembered the stories his father told him as a child. And somehow still believed him. He believed everything his father said, no matter how eccentric it sounded to anyone else. It wasn't like he could defend it - he wouldn't try to. But the outlandish stories just sounded good, and it was the only explanation he needed. He'd say things like "Good work today, Grigori" as he hung the sword up on the wall, or "Grigori and I have work to do" before he left at night for whatever his job was.
Whatever it was, it was awesome and Isaac had nothing but respect and love for both his parents. And so, understandably, his world crumbled a little bit when they died. His mother died in the line of duty - he still has the flag he and his father were given. His father...Died in the Divide. Fighting creatures that nobody else seemed to be able to see very well. Suddenly, Isaac caught some small glimpse of the world he'd always imagined his father existed in. And as his father died protecting others, Isaac did what made the most sense at the time, and took up his father's sword. He couldn't lift it well enough to fight, and couldn't see his targets, and so he swung wildly until he, too, was saved by others bigger and stronger and more capable than him.
Isaac spent a few years going to school, denying himself the life he knew he'd end up leading. He was the only one left in his family. If he died, who would protect Grigori? The sword that, even years later, was just a hunk of steel. Maybe that's all it really was. Isaac couldn't wield the ridiculously large sword. He certainly couldn't talk to it. Maybe his dad really had been crazy.
But Isaac couldn't allow himself to think that way, not really. And finally, when dealings with the Psyche Terrorists really started heating up, and department heads started falling, Isaac decided enough was enough. What this city needed was a hero. And that Hero would be him, if it had to be. So he strapped that ridiculous sword to his back and applied for Cadet Classes. He'd find his answers along the way, after all, he came from a legacy of heroes, didn't he?
