| Looking over some of the scraps she held within her cave, Toryuki rasped one of her hands on a nearby desk – or at least, something that functioned as a desk, albeit created out of chunks of various metals, some of which still featured the paints of their original purpose. Inspiration was hard to come by, but she had to admit, if nothing else, she could always finish the touches on her ranged weapon as she had intended – for now, she had not the materials to make ammunition, although her excursion to the weaponry shops recently had given her enough knowledge of how to finish her gun: after all, now she knew what was considered the most common form of ammunition. While she didn’t know yet how these races made their ammunition, knowing the shape was the first step.
Walking over to a large wheel made of a chromatic steel, Toryuki picked it up, before slugging it over to her worktop, and then slamming it down. Next, to get it properly prepared, as it in its current state was too large for purpose. With a crack of her neck, Toryuki moved over to one of her piles of metal, scurrying through it before picking out a large metallic pole, roughly the same thickness as the wheel, and at a length of 3 feet. A roll of her shoulders was all the preparation she required, before taking the pole in both arms, and snapping it over her right knee, breaking it roughly in half.
Now with her makeshift tool, Toryuki prepared for what she needed to do next. First, the Dystoran put the pole spear to the side, pointy edges facing up while discarding the half she deemed more useless for now – need be, it could come in handy for a later project. Then, returning to the chromatic steel, Toryuki bit at the thumb of her right hand, before using it to draw a template over the wheel in her own, mint green blood. Shaking her hand in order to try dry the blood from her thumb and not make a mess with it dripping, the giant lizard alien ended it with a wipe onto the palm of her left hand. Moving back over to the pole, the next phase of this shaping came.
Hours passed, as Toryuki placed the sharp points of the pole to her lines, before slamming her hand onto the top, chipping a light bit of the chromic metal before moving on, slowly and cautiously making sure to fashion it roughly outside of the lines. Hours and hours. Time and time. Yet as she got towards the end, the warrior nodded to herself. This was going to be a fine addition to the chassis. She knew it. Her lifestyle depended on tasks such as this, so, there were no doubts within her mind.
Next came refinement. Without being refined, this wouldn’t fit, or be able to fit its function. Picking up the wheel while tossing the now blunt pole to the side, Toryuki moved to her personal grindstone, pushing her foot down to the pedal to force the device to begin spinning. As it began to spin, the Dystoran put the wheel to the grindstone, carefully smoothing out the edges and faces, while making light grooves every now and again. This slow process continued, slowly but surely. Refinement, refinement, refinement. This had to be perfect…
An exhale of fatigue was the only signifier of how much this had taken for the Dystoran thus far. Yet completion was not its current state. Letting out a silent yawn as she finished with the grindstone, Toryuki looked to the empty chassis of The Emperor’s End. Taking the new wheel, which was now taking shape towards her desired form, she began dry fitting it to the weapon. Yes, yes this was working… Now was the final process.
Taking a surprisingly high tech drill, that to a human would appear as if from a science fiction piece, Toryuki began boring holes into it at set intervals. Taking her time, each hole was spaced equally, and done in measurements that seemed as if they were more than merely guesses. Yet no such measuring equipment was in sight among the clutter of the metal covered and run down cave. Instead was a large Dystoran warrior with anger issues and a knowledge of creating weapons over a long period of time.
As the holes were finished, Toryuki let out a light exhale, pausing for a moment to admire her handiwork. Her stomach growled, and she felt a yearning for some meat of some description, and some water to cool herself. Shaking her head violently however, the Dystoran dismissed these desires, instead deciding to finish that which she had started first. The blood from her hand completely dried now, Toryuki began to carefully and meticulously attach the item into her gun chassis. With this… The weapon would be complete. Well, outside of the ammunition. That was a problem she could sort out another day however, as a weapon without ammunition can still be used as a weapon. The Dystoran was confident enough in her strength and skill that the idea of being caught without ammunition was just an inconvenience, not a worry or concern.
Carefully, she thumbed the device, rotating it slowly to ensure it worked as intended. As she had hoped, the device turned with relative ease, yet required enough force that it would not spin without her fully intending it to spin. Picking up her weapon, she began to aim down its length, and point it around her cave. It was an empty weapon thus far, yet she pulled the trigger regardless. With nothing to fire, and nothing to activate the propulsion of any ammunition, all that resulted was a light click. The wheel did not spin without her desiring it, so, perhaps it would be slower to use in combat as each hole was designed to hold a bullet itself… Yet, that was not her concern. A slow weapon merely meant a controlled weapon, and with its manual nature, she could at least be sure that nobody would be able to accidentally cause harm with this weapon. Slow… But methodical.
Now to get some food.
