A Trip to the petting Zoo [Sos/Gabe]

After they got back. Gabe popped open the trunk and took out the picnic basket. He then went over to the outside tables and started to place some things out. There were two hero sandwiches, a pack of assorted fruits, and large clear thermos of lemonade. There were also two cups that gave prepared, as well as a fork and a knife in case Trinity wanted to eat a certain way with her food.

"I hope you are hungry, I ended up having this prepared by the catering at the casino. I was in a bit of a hurry because I wanted this to be done on time, but I would like to note that I have a lot of faith in the qualities and skills of the people who work with me. If i said i was doing this for a dear friend, i'd expect them to give it their all..."

Trinity followed Gabe as they headed back, staying close on his heels as they walked back to the car, she was looking at the things he took out as he set up the picnic and she sat down as he finished up the set up, and as he started to talk she let out another of those happy nose puffs she did "Thank you for the food" she said as she poured a cup of lemonade for Gabe and placed it in front of him before looking at the sandwiches and she looked to Gabe "One each? or are we splitting them half and half?" she asked in her monotone as she waited for her answer.

Though then a thought popped into her mind and she sat there looking at the part of the table right in front of her "Thank you...and sorry if We are taking up your time that could be used on more important things, We understand that there are probably other things you want to do, but you choose to be here instead so thank you." she said as she bowed her head to Gabe in thanks. He was really the only friend she had left from the beginning of all this, and she wondered if she was a burden to him.

"One each! What kind of gentlemen do you take me for? I did bring a butter knife to cut it into small morsels in order for you to enjoy, so in a way... I can make...."

Gabe then took the liberty to cut the hero into 4 pieces for Nola to enjoy. He himself preferred the hard hero the way that it was, so he only cut it in half.

"Four Nola sized sandwiches. That way you can just enjoy them at your pace, but i'm sure I thought of everything. There is a small roll of paper towels in the bag that I brought with me. The picnic table itself is next to a garbage can so we can clean up easy. "

However, Gabe didn't want Nola to feel off about him spending time with her.

"I got to admit, sometimes I wish you were older so that we can go drinking and whatnot, but you are still one of my closest friends. It all kind of started with us, you know. I didn't feel like you guys should be doing anything dangerous alone acting like the adult because I was older. Then we bonded, coming together under one goal...the one goal of positive change. I thought...... I wanted revenge for what happened to selenus... but I changed my mind. A narrow way of thinking would only bring more casualties, and we need to be unified more than ever. "

Sitting down and taking a bite of his sandwich, there would be a small moment of silence before Gabe finally swallowed his food.

"Besides, who's gonna look after ya while the other two are gone? I'm not going to turn my back on people that been there for me.,.. i feel like it's impossible for my body and mind to act in such a way."

Trinity watched him cut the sandwiches and looked to him "Thank you, and We didn't mean any offense, we only asked so that we would know if they were different sandwiches and if we were sharing them both by cutting them into even portions" she said looking to Gabe as her food was given to her after it was cut and she gently picked up one of the quarters of her sandwich and she just gently nibbled on the end of it, much like how she ate her giant cookies.

"Thank you very much, this does make it easier to eat for Us, and it does seem you thought of everything" she agreed as she gave another of those happy little nose huffs as she continued to nibble at the sandwich as she sat there enjoying the time.

Though Gabe continued to talk as she nibbled away at the sandwich, he lamented that she was as young as she was due to not being able to go drinking, she had to think on that, as she got closer to the drinking age...her body would slowly be failing her, she more then likely wouldn't be able to go drinking when she reached the allowed age, it's not really an aspect of it she thought of since she had no reason to drink, she already knew she was going to die far before anyone else died of old age. Gabe then continued as he mentioned having once wanted revenge for Selenus, this was a sentiment shared by Trinity however unlike Gabe she still wanted that revenge, however she was going to take it in the way Selenus would have wanted.

"We intend to get revenge for him...but in the way he would have wanted it done....the proper way" she said quietly to Gabe as she sat there nibbling away at the sandwich, "But We wouldn't sacrifice others for it..." she said before reaching into her phone for her second phone, it was one she got after Selenus died, he had been their secure communication, but now she had to do it herself, she had already set up a proxy account and used an app for text and calls, she only needed to get Gabe's info.

"We have set up a communication line...I will be preparing phones and handing them to you to hand out to others when We can get them, if We can get them...you seem able to talk easier to others...no need for them to know we prepared them" she said as she sat there and looked to Gabe.

Though he then mentioned being there for her now that Tatsui and Selenus was gone, and she looked up at him "But who will look after you? We don't want another disappearing or leaving...just to keep us safe..." she said as she looked up at him, her expressionless face and unblinking eyes locked to his, as a single tear rolled down her cheek "That would just leave us all alone again..."

"Unfortunately, I don't believe in taking up the credit for something that I didn't do or didn't even cause. To live a lie when a cherished friend is working that hard for the group, it's living a lie, a lie that I won't except upon myself for the sake of ego. People will know that the great unison went through the deed for the sake of us communicating with each other. Regardless of how charismatic I seem or had become, I'm true to myself when it comes to my comrades. I need to do right by the people who were with me since the beginning, with the beginning being counted towards the platinum playhouse and what we started, you are the only one that's left. I'm not nearly as close to anyone else, and if i was... that don't know what i do at night. "

Gabe wasn't the type to take up the credit for something he didn't do, he wasn't going to do that to unison of all people. However, seeing her cry did pull on his heartstrings, taking out a handkerchief immediately and wiping the side of her eyes.

"Please don't cry.... to be honest... I never really thought about that. Some might say that everything is done for the greater good, that all sacrifices lead to the end result of the positive results we all desired in the first place. But all sacrifices doesn't mean death..... and if I was to fall.. you are the only person I can count on to see this through. It might not be what the overall populus wants... and it might not even be what you want... but if not you..who else? I guess..... what needs to happen is to find the right one and back them.. for the sake of not losing our philosophies and beliefs of a better tomorrow. Of course... only if I fall..."

Gabe let her have the handkerchief in case she wanted to blow her nose.

"I want to see the end of it all....with all the pain and suffering we've gone through, I want this to be a story of happy endings...."

Trinity looked at Gabe as he spoke and she let him wipe away her tear, though as he did more fell from her unblinking and expressionless eyes, she allowed him to wipe those away too before taking the Handkerchief and holding it, she didn't blow her nose on it thought she just held it as she looked at him and let him continue, She knew about sacrifice, she hadn't been able to do a lot of the things she had wanted to do since she had worked and practiced as an Idol so much. She had to give things up to focus on that, on what her Adoptive parents wanted, She had learned to take joy in it but it wasn't what she had wanted to do.

Though truth be told she didn't know what she wanted to do when she was younger, when the training started, but she was starting to consider her own options, though many seemed to be out of reach due to her condition, but if she could do something, it would really be what they did at night, trying to free the city, though she had wanted to try to befriend more demons then kill them, she hadn't had the chance to.

As Gabe finished what he was saying Trinity nodded a bit "We understand that feeling, though we are not sure if we will make it to that point...that's why we want you to make it...so someone remembers us...and what we did...what we tried to do.." she said gently wiping a tear away once more as she sat there, her short life span wasn't something that normally bothered her, but lately after meeting her friends...and losing two of them...It had started to press on her mind especially with what Selenus had asked her to do..it was something she wasn't sure she could even manage.

"We...may need your help...with something....since you may be around longer then any of us..." she said as she then started to debate weather to bring up the request that Selenus had given her.

"Nola ......you are going to think of me as ignorant to the bitter end, because I can't see myself accepting the death of a close friend. So young with so much potential, I'm 22 myself and I still have hope to continue to grow and experience life.  But when I was younger, I was sick,  homeschooled, stayed at home so much it felt like I didn't know anything else. But I was able to persevere, I want that for you too. I don't want to give up on your survival, there is no existing treatment that's not worth the price in order for you to experience prom for gods sake, graduating school or the academy, not just living your life as an idol but living a live you should have experienced in spite of being an idol. I can't accept your end....."

This time, it was Gabe's turn to be emotional. He didn't want to see it, he didn't want to see anything befall nola. She was like a little sister to him, he had a little bit of an older sibling complex of acting like one because that's what he desired when he was younger. He had his parents, but there was no one around his age that he could look up to and rely on, he was late to the game of making such bonds. But he felt like if he did so, maybe he could change someone's life in the process.

"What do you need my help with? Did something happen?"

Trinity listened, and she wanted to believe the same, but she knew to well what her fate was going to be, this was why she had wanted to leave her goal to Gabe, in case she couldn't see it to the end, she had been left this task by Selenus, and he wouldn't mind if she asked Gabe she was sure of it. Though she was well aware that Gabe's sentiment was one that had been shared by Selenus, she had long ago accepted her short life, fooling herself into more would only make her become sad as the end drew near, though sadly she had already was silently wishing to have longer.

"I...need help finding someone..." she said before she text the rest of the information to Gabe "It's...all there..." she said as she looked to Gabe. The text would read "Selenus had asked me to find someone, his father...it was the last thing he asked me to do..but..I don't think I would be able to...there is only so much a person of my age and looks can manage....I am limited in this task...I have been learning a lot...about computers to hopefully get that to help...but I am...not good with people....or investigation work...I..was hoping you could help..".

She honestly didn't know what she could do, she was severely limited in her search due to her age, she had been learning a lot about computers technology and programming to hopefully look that way if possible. But she was scared of hitting a dead end.

Gabe got rather silent in order to give Nola the proper respect and attention. If there was something that was bothering her in order to bring to Gabe's attention, he had a duty to hear her out and at least provide some perspective if he was able to. But in this case, it was the problem of finding a missing person, something that Selenus needed help with.  Gabe hummed, wondering what he could do about this.  Once he got the text though, Gabe skimmed and immediately closed his phone.

"I think i got the idea of it, we are looking for selenus's father. It was his last wish, so we should try to honor it and find this guy. At the very least, if we have a name, we can start by using the detective agency to build a leading case from there. After that, we can continue on and use our own means of pursuing, even more, leads to find this guy. If it comes down to it being a rescue, we have to trust in our power and teamwork in order to get it done.  But I believe we have plenty of that, so i'm not worried. "

Gabe had a rather reassuring smile on his face.

"Whatever you can't do, i'll do in your stead. I promise that you'll have my full support in looking for his father. I lost my parents during the great divide, I know the feeling of not wanting to give up looking for family all too well."

"Thank you, it helps knowing that, and thank you for this time out...We haven't really ever gotten to go do things like this...." she said once more as she took a bite of the sandwich and looked up at Gabe a moment "We are sorry We are not that good at planning like you, it's why We were stuck on what to do.....could...you maybe share your contact? the one you use?" she asked as she looked up at him. information sharing was something that would be needed and this was one thing that would be needed.

"We also have a few other Ideas....but We have to finish Our classes and get some things together for practice....We...are trying to teach ourselves how to work with computers and things now....as we have decided we need a hobby beyond what we have known so far...adn that seemed fitting....we figured it...might also be helpful" she said as she took another bite of the sandwich.

"We hope we can see past what we think will be the end...and we will keep holding that hope we promise....just...please be safe okay?" she asked him looking up at him once more.

"That doesn't necessarily mean that you'll be bad at planning forever. It only means that for now, it's something that you aren't too good at. But pretty soon, you'll be so good that you can put my ideas to shame. To be honest with you, maybe it's a string of luck along with good decisions, but even I make mistakes. Maybe I'll make a mistake or two that I won't be able to come back from just as easily. That's why it's important that I have you and everyone else to bonk me on the head when I make those bad decisions. Or even better yet, standing as the voice of reason or the compass of morality, I'm not always right, even when I think so. With that being said, I always appreciate you being around, and I hold your council in confidence that the ideas you bring can shed a brighter light on whatever situation we may face."

Gabe really meant that, he couldn't do this without the others. After saying that, he gave Nola the information that she asked of him. He was also pretty surprised that she was taking up computers.

"Heck, I only know the basics. If you can handle something like that, we would have our honorary tech girl that could help me access my emails hahaha...and among other important stuff. But keep it up, anything helps, and things that helps that also translate into a hobby that you enjoy is something incredibly valuable. "

Stretching, Gabe looked out into the range.

"I can't have you worrying too much, stress is no good for anyone. So I promise I'll be safe. "

Checking the time, he wondered if Nola's parents would start to worry.

"I'll take you home. "

"That is True, We will work on it, but for the Time being Relying on someone that is good at it as We train ourselves is the best option" she said as she gave another of those little nose puffs she did to show she was happy, and as he gave her the contact information for the detective he used she nodded and recorded it, not in her phone or anything, though there as well, but in her mind with her siblings also dedicating it to their memory so that none would forget it.

"We will try Our best to make progress so that it helps everyone, We do think it can be an asset and a resource that would be quite useful" she said as she was happy to hear he thought it was a good Idea. As he promised to be safe she nodded "Thank you" she said and got up to follow him back to the car, it had been a very good Day.
