| Journal #30 A few hours had passed since Rianara returned home from her adventure inside the confines of the crash-site. The android lied on her back, slowly recovering from the dangerous escapade, quite content with what she had accomplished. There was a lot to think about... What she had found there, the things that she had been told... Like abandoning her human-like way of thinking. Something which Rianara wasn't quite comfortable with. That would just undo the last 40 years worth of experience, and for what purpose? No, she very much prefered reasoning in the same fashion living creatures did. And of course, there was also that Journal that she had found... It was safely tucked beneath her robes, close to her person. The information contained within was too valuable to just leave out in the open, especially when living in a place like the Slums.
Rianara sighed lightly, overlooking the town square from her window before pulling out a small, leatherbound book with the number 30 scrawled on it's front in black sharpie. Might as well take a closer look at the journal's contents now. She had nothing better to do anyway.
Rianara opened the book, dusting off the first page gently with her right hand. The ink was somewhat faded, but still very much readable. The handwriting was elegant and easy to read, each word written with extreme care and contemplation. It was evident that what had been drafted on the first page was of some personal significance to the author. The opening passage seemed to suggest the journal originally belonged to a married woman, judging by whom it was adressed to. "For my loving Husband Thnr, to chronicle your journey, may we meet again in the next cycle." Rianara read quietly to herself, letting her gaze fly over each word. Sadly, the message did not reach its intended recipient. Judging by the age of the ship, and by extension this journal, it was probably safe to say that this Thnr was not alive anymore. Knowing that she would carry this message with her for a very, very long time forward, Rianara kept reading, wishing to know what had befallen the crew, and what this woman was like. | |
