Two Years Ago Huh? (Rylue)

It was nice being out and about after being cooped up in a small space for two years under watchful eyes and pig heads barking orders at him all day long. It was also strange. Ever since he had gotten out, the police tagged him with one of their own. The same hound that caught him that was supposed to be watching him; however, for whatever reason the guy decided to not watch him today or maybe got sick or something. Trivial shit aside, the point was the dog was not watching him. In fact, he hadn’t seen the mutt since he got up this morning. Maybe that was why he was in such a good mood.

He honestly could’ve misbehaved if he wanted to, but today he restrained himself as he reoriented himself with the world he had been disconnected from for the last two years. Moving down the path from his home, the pretty boy would continue his trek going pass the plaza in the center until he found a edge of this ward. Stopping at the elegant railings there, he would lean against the railing a bit as his eyes took in the sight before him. Rolling fields of green, a blue sky, and the lack of salt in the air. It was strange, but he didn’t recall the land looking so beautiful before, but then again the last he saw of the world was two years ago, when they were on a world called Bernoulli.

He remembered coming out to see sea gulls about and hear the whispers of waves since the Top Ward was pretty much an island in a world full of water. He remember the salty breeze and enjoying fishing from some spots he found around the area that he probably shouldn’t have been in, but he hadn’t cared. The only issue he had was one rough encounter with the locals of that world - the mermaids - when he accidentally caught one instead of fish when he was using a net. She was less than friendly and left him with a few scars; however, she calmed down well enough in the end. While they weren’t friends, they did come to terms which didn’t require him losing his fingers or her her pretty head. It was actually this encounter that got him the permission to fish in the ocean when ever he wanted to to begin with. Guess catching sea royalty has its perks.

Anyway being in that world was definitely an interesting time. Even more so since everything below the Top Ward was protected by Junction’s shield making it a huge aquarium down there. It was nice for a few days, but after a while the young man preferred to be up top more so than down below. They were still in that fishy world when he got caught and caged up.

“And now look at it,” the young man would whisper out loud as he continued to take in the scene and for the moment just enjoy the fresh air as it blew against his face and through his hair. Two years....two years he had been without this, without the world, and now back in it he was acting as if everything was brand new and special. Funny how a few years looked up could change one's perspective on things like that.
