Appearance: Junction Takeru is about 5ft 6in. Tall, and weighs about a 150 pounds, and looks like this: - Image::
His eyes are normally hidden by his glasses, but he has bags under them not just from staying up too late, but also because he occasionally has nightmares about his past that require his wife to soothe (as those tend to make him wake up screaming). He has a surprising amount of muscles too, despite his short size, and though you wouldn't know it normally, he is a very precise sharpshooter and on part with a black belt in Aikido. His hands also have calluses from writing in pencil, and they are soft with a rather delicate touch to them. His eyes are a dark gold.
Personality: Junction Takeru is, at a glance, the type of person with a soft aura of calmness and compassion around him, the kind of look a doting grandparent might have for their grandchildren. He's quite soft-spoken, almost never raising his voice in anger (or getting angry in general), and far kinder and nicer than most other versions of Takeru. He tends to often be lost in thought while doing things, for one reason or the other, be it reminiscing on days long gone or some new idea, time has made Takeru a very different person. He also almost never picks fights anymore, and he has sworn himself to never take up arms again unless necessary.
He also doesn't like showing off at all anymore, being quite humble…. Usually. When it comes to his writing, so long as it's not the work he considers an old shame, he's extremely proud of it, and he's also incredibly proud of his family.
He speaks in a easy going, friendly, and polite manner that's fairly eloquent. That's not to say he doesn't occasionally indulge in a little jaded cynicism once in awhile. He's the type of person to let sleeping dogs lie, whereas Shinji for example would wake them up for the hell of it. However, his tone hides a sort of melancholy to it, especially when he's reminiscing. He tends to talk to himself out loud softly as well.
However, due to his past, Junction Takeru has deep mental scars that he needs to go through therapy for, even having the occasional relapse of depression that Melodia supports him through. He also has a lot of regrets, which he cannot seem to let go of easily. He also suffers from occasional emotional breakdowns and mercurial moods swings ranging from ecstasy to despair in an instant depending on what's happening, and has a tendency to overreact and over think as a result. Things that will immediately trigger his PTSD is unnecessary conflict particularly, threatening to harm the ones he loves, rejection, and being forced to recall his past.
Because of his dark past (Which he considers shameful) he doesn't talk about it much, and if pushed, he will break down. Because he considers it a sensitive subject, much of it is kept from Shinjiro due to how blunt Shinji is, mainly so that he doesn't have a breakdown because of him. Shinji for his part has a feeling that something is being kept from him, but when he presses for more, he doesn't get an answer, something that played a key part in Shinji’s resentment for Takeru. A lot of Shinji’s perceptions of Takeru aren't entirely wrong, but the reasons for them go deeper than he thinks.
As a writer, he enjoys writing sci-fi and fantasy, although his greatest work is a Young Adult Romance Novel that he considers an old shame, mainly because he wrote that when he was younger and still getting used to Junction. Although he'd do better as a pianist, Takeru prefers writing instead because the piano holds both a lot of painful memories and happy memories too for him. He also doesn't play as often because of this, but when he does, it's quite the sight to behold.
He loves fruits, his family, writing, books, being trusted and loved, children, playing piano, music, and video games. He dislikes vegetables, war, abuse, rejection and hate, and horror movies.
In his spare time, Takeru enjoys taking trips to the library, meditation, and spending time with his wife and family. He wishes Shinji would appreciate his writing a bit more, and would love to work with Shinji on a novel someday.

The Background
|
History:
- View as You Please:
The World this Takeru came from is one amongst countless dystopian ones. A world long ago shaken by a cataclysm so ancient, nobody knows the truth behind it anymore. Let's call this world War Earth, for what is known are the results, which caused widespread destruction that left a lot of the land uninhabitable. As a result of that, war broke out over the remaining inhabitable lands.
This Takeru was born into the largest of the armies fighting: The Neo Elysium army. From the time he was young, he had a keen mind and boundless curiosity, and while in many other worlds, this was a encouraged thing, but in this world, which demanded unquestioning obedience in the name of order, such inquest was to be stamped out, and he was punished for it.
Though he developed a gift for sharpshooting, the piano, aikido, and academics, and he didn't want to fight, he was still to be a soldier as required by the law. Piano playing was the one outlet he was allowed to use to express himself (and even then, only select pieces of music approved by the army). He loved books, but he found the available texts to be lacking to satisfy his desires (which he had by this point learned to suppress). He felt alone because there seemed to be nobody else on this world that seemed to understand him.
Then one day he met a man named Luthier, who had been assigned to his squad. Luthier was a man of great skill with a blade, and though aloof, Luthier opened himself up to Takeru, as the two were partnered up in their squad, with Luthier being the vanguard, and Takeru being the rearguard, it was only natural that they would grow close to each other. Both would come to each other for comfort when the atrocities they were forced to take part in simply grew too much for them to bear. Luither was fascinated by Takeru’s music, and how Takeru could shoot so well, and Takeru admired how Luthier was a nicer person than most, as well as how strong he was compared to him. Luthier also helped Takeru train his Aikido skills, and Takeru in turn would help Luthier learn to shoot better. Because even in the darkest of times, there can still be love blooming.
This culminated when Takeru was 16 when he decided to try desert the army with Luthier, and find a new life for themselves fighting against the tyranny Neo Elysium represented. Luthier agreed, and the two started to make plan to desert it.
Unfortunately, they were found out, and for the crimes of a homosexual relationships, forbidden inquest of knowledge, attempted desertion, and other crimes, they were labeled heretics, for which the sentence was death.
The day of the execution, Takeru watched as Luthier was cruelly shot and executed in front of him, unable to turn away, and denied the right to hear his beloved’s last words to him.
But before they could execute him, he saw a bright light before him that blinded him, and when he came to, he found himself in Junction. Traumatized, and without a penny to his name, he wandered Junction for a time as a beggar.
This period of wandering came to an end when one day, in the slums, he saw a piano left alone I'm an abandoned building, and remembering all that happened, he began to play, remembering how Luthier had loved his music so much in life. In light of a funeral, he decided, he would play one last song for Luthier before he went to join him in the afterlife.
The beautiful song of a requiem for love lost was music from the soul, echoing with a sort of mournful, solemn beauty from the place to the surrounding area. It was there that he met the woman who would become his future wife, Melodia Muse, a gifted singer who had come to the slums as part of a charity concert by chance. She had heard the song from where she was, and had gone to see just who was playing.
She asked him the name of the piece that he had played, and who he was before quickly introducing herself, having forgotten her manners in her awe of the music he played. Under normal circumstances, he would have not answered nicely, but it was the eyes she had when she talked to him that got him. The same kind of eyes Luthier gave him in admiration for his skill in music.
“Luthier. That's it's name.” was the words he said. Melodia, who by this point was absolutely entranced with this mysterious stranger, asked him if he would like to come with her to talk more. He accepted.
Over the next 4 years, Takeru went through therapy, telling her his story, and though he'd never quite recover from the trauma he had been doubt, he vowed to keep going in memory of Luthier. It was in these 4 years that Takeru put his intelligence to work in getting an education, and Melodia fell in love with him. Two years after that, even though Takeru was just starting therapy to deal with his mental problems, and only able to live as comfortably as he now did because of Melodia family, she proposed to him, having fallen in love with him over time.
While he didn't love her to the extent he did for Luthier, he still loved her so much for all the kindness and support she had shown him in the years since he had come to Junction. She had effectively saved his life then ,and now she was asking him if he wanted to start a new one with her together. How could he have said no?
Thus, they got married, and then when Shinji was born, Takeru was overjoyed. Around this time, he also got his first novels published, and he keeps publishing one occasionally to this day. However, he always made time for Shinji, teaching him how to read, play piano, and be the best father he could to the boy. Melodia would be there to help him when his depression relapsed, and he in turn would support her too the best he could.
Thus, he lived in relative peace and happiness.
