| Joseph Kerrigan "Hey, when's the next break?"
The Biography
|
Birth Name: Joseph Kerrigan Aliases: Jerry Gender: Male Age: 18 Birth Day: 4/22 Arcana: Lust Place of Residence: East Eden Evoker: ??? Academy Semester: Third Class: Class Zero Sorority: N/A Part/Full Time Job:
Appearance: Joseph got the short stick of the genetic lottery compared to his older brothers. Where his siblings effortlessly reached heights of six feet and even taller he only obtained a measly 5 feet and 10 inches in total with his messy head of black hair. But like his gargantuan relatives, the young man's diligence got him a whopping body of muscle enough to make most people to pause and ponder whether they should touch it or not. He's slightly embarrassed of his family's signature birthmark of two moles below his right eye. His habit of listening to music led to people always seeing his pair of earphones on his person.

- GET SWOLE:
Alternate Appearance: Nothing changes when summoning a Persona. Assuming there is a Cadet uniform, he will wear them. Until then, Joseph will wear more appropriate clothing for the task. A comfortable set of suits is the kind of attire that the Cadet will choose to display professionalism and ease of movement.
Personality: People describe him to be conservative and quiet in a way that he's unremarkable and has a maturity to him. But his reservations kept his deeper thoughts from coming out. Kerrigan's negative outlook judges people negatively. He's very careful to not show that to anyone to not piss anyone off. In many ways he's an opportunist with a combination of calm judgement and demeanor. People who understand him better will soon realize he's two-faced.
To his disappointment, he loves painting and drawing. But he isn't proficient at it. In fact, they tend to end up being chicken scratches that he wants to keep secret and to be locked away in his humble home. While working out helps to get some stress out, he only does it to keep himself in shape and ready for additional jobs on the way.

The Potential
|
Strengths: (Anything your character is skilled in, such as Martial Arts/ Drawing/ etc? You are allowed a maximum of five strengths and a minimum of three.)
—Strength Name: Kerrigan Vigor —Description: His workout ethic gave him an impressive body to behold for someone of his stature. He's tough and built to endure most of anything. Most importantly he's built to keep himself going for long periods of time when under stress and exertion. Slash attacks cost 2% less to use.
—Strength Name: Basic Combat Training —Description: Originally he was aiming to be a police officer. But his family is leading him to become a Cadet. Taking advice and training from his former military and law enforcement family members, Joseph can carry himself with confidence and knows what he's doing when in the heat of the moment. Strike attacks cost 2% less to use.
—Strength Name: Obsessive Courage —Description: He prepared himself for the possible dangers that will come to him as a Cadet. Hearing explicit stories from his family as soldiers and cops have haunted him for some time. Even a visit at the hospital made him more prepared for the amount of potential gore. Starts out at Courage Rank 2.
—Strength Name: Analysis —Description: Reservation and passive analysis allowed him to glean more information and to act more expediently. This was something that all Kerrigan's needed to do their stressful jobs and his family made sure he went through that as well. With an education like his, he at least will be able to act less of an numbskull. Intelligence points gained are doubled.
—Strength Name: Magic Eye —Description: As a result of the trial experiments his parents let him join, his eye can turn its sclera black and iris scarlet red. It allowed him to have vastly improved eyesight in which he can almost perceive near sub-sonic speeds. But it doesn't mean he can act right away for most situations. 15% boost to Luck stat.
----- ((A floating Strength is a strength you've gained inRP. For example, if you were on a Kendo team for some time, you'd naturally know Kendo which is where this strength would come in. However, be aware, it will not be as strong as any of your actual strengths and is a small plus)
—Floating Strength Name: —Description:
Weaknesses: (You must have the same amount of weaknesses as strengths. These weaknesses pertain to you and not your Persona. IE: Physically Weaker, lack of attention span, etc.)
—Weakness Name: Normal Joe —Description: Because of his focus on working out and perhaps as a result of his experimentation, he finds difficulty in using magical skills. It doesn't mean he can't use them, but it will take out a whole lot more. Magical attack skills cost 5 more SP to cast.
—Weakness Name: Normal Joe 2 —Description: Likewise, because of his lacking affinity to using magical skills, it's harder for him to aim using them. It complicates his ability to use fine and precise actions with them. 10% additional miss chance when using magical attack skills.
—Weakness Name: Unrelatable —Description: Because of his judgemental personality, he found it difficult to understand people. His dislike for people led him to increasingly polarize himself against them in more subtle ways. Understanding earns halve SQ points.
—Weakness Name: Anti-Social —Description: His "People's" skills aren't very expansive either as he focused more on his own growth. This ties in hand to hand with his toxic personality as well as his preference to keep his relationships ultimately professional than close. Charisma earns halve SQ points.
—Weakness Name: Psychosis —Description: His eye tends to have sudden random "attacks". But it is more of an attack of his own mind. Kerrigan experiences a debilitating state of something resembling dementia from time to time. For the first three turns in battle only, Kerrigan has a 10% chance of skipping that turn.
----- ((A floating weakness is one gained in RP. It could be a fear you inherited during RP, or an injury that hinders your character. Some can be temporary while others can be permanent.)
—Floating Weakness Name: —Description:
Soul Bound Weapon:
Weapon Name: Nameless Weapon Description: An unremarkable katana blade reaching a modest 65 centimeters in total length. Weapon Image: Unremarkable Blade Weapon Attack Type: Slash Weapon Element: Side-Arm Weapon:
Side-Arm Name: M1911 Side-Arm Description: Standard issue M1911 with a normal magazine capacity. Side-Arm Image: M1911 Side-Arm Attack Type: Gun Side-Arm Style: Revolver

The Background
|
History: The Kerrigan lineage can be traced back to a long line of Irish kin. But somewhere along the way, they lost several characteristics attributed to the "ginger-folk". This loss occurred a couple of generations back when Joseph's great-grandfather married a Taiwanese woman in the midst of a missionary tour. Despite the hardships of such a relationship in the United States back then, they prospered and continued to do so while giving back to their communities. This usually meant every Kerrigan had to work in a role as a police officer, fireman, soldier, doctor, and other such jobs. It kept them strong and seem as reliable neighbors to those around them.
The expectations gave Joseph a difficult and strict childhood growing up. Physical fitness was a given when you were a Kerrigan and the endless nights and summers spent exercising were grueling to say the least. To balance that with at least a competitive amount of education proved to be very stressful for him. In a way, he felt aggressively trapped in this cage of expectations. The Eternal Divide didn't seem much better either as several members of the Kerrigan family were forced to retire due to debilitating injuries.
As the years went by and with even growing expectations, Joseph eventually grew up to be a young man. This time they were pushing him to become a Cadet, the first time ever within the Kerrigan's. To him, there was no difference since he saw this coming several miles away once the first Cadets were introduced. In fact, his parents volunteered him to a temporary project with a Government-sanctioned company to grant him a potential to be in the Cadets. It was entirely painful for him. But he came out in one piece surprisingly compared to other subjects. With his turn on the bat, Joseph can only look forward to a comfortable promotion.

| This looks good to me and I don't see anything that needs changing, although it should be noted that the project you mentioned within the history isn't really necessary considering the nature of Cadet awakenings. They get their potential from drinking the queen's blood which causes them excruciating pain but forces their Persona to manifest. So it seems like the normal awakening already covers what you're going for, but I'm fine with the history as is if you want to keep that part of it. | |
