Walk of the demised [Drum x Giséle]

sniffle Drum was done with the report he had to file. He'd now gone down to the slums for one last stroll through the Junction's cityscape. He was to make a journey through the city he held so dear, taking it all in one last time before dying as chief said.

First on the menu was the lower ward. Ah, how he always loved it, as it was the place full of criminals from all over. He could recall all 1,745 arrests he'd made down here on his own, many more with his siblings yet. He would miss those better days. His bra in hand, he wiped his nostrils every so often with it, tears in eyes. If only he could make just one finaly arrest here before hitting the hay...

Existence was awfully hollow today, wasn't it? That's not to say it wasn't that way usually for Gisèle being the edgelord that she was, but the lack of her powers and the new modus operandi that had subsequently been forced upon her had ended up leaving her a lot of downtime that she wasn't used to having. It was hard to keep her thoughts from wandering on a peaceful evening like this, and while that was fine normally, the lack of anything noteworthy to think about led to her brain reminding her of pieces of her past that she had no interest in reminiscing about. It was... frustrating. She didn't want to waste the hours away moping and biding her time, but as was she just didn't have many other options. If only this shithole would throw something or someone attention worthy her way to distract her from----

Drum noticed someone had mentioned a penguin and he raised his expressionless face, red with tears, a snot drooling out the small nostrils on the top of his beak.

"I am a he, not an it, young lady." He said before realizing it was indeed a young lady standing before him. He blushed though it would probably have been hidden by his tears. "A-and I'm a Space Penguin, a specially evolved over-race of planet Earth's penguin genus. Also this lingerie is mine so I can use it however I wish, and I only wish to cry right now, so excse me." He would try to walk by her and ignore her, trotting on his two penguin left feet like a penguin would.

The girl was pretty cute though.

A Space Penguin? That was an on the nose name if she had ever heard one. Regardless, what his species was called definitely wasn't the oddest thing about the situation considering he was talking to her instead of just making animal noises or whatever. Did that mean he was sentient? She had spotted plenty of people who looked like cats, or dogs, or what have you ever since she came into being in this strange place, but at least 90% of them had retained some degree of humanoid shape. As awkward and confusing as the situation was, she couldn't deny that it raised some interesting questions that she was shocked she hadn't thought about prior.

The grand scheme of things aside though, knowing what she knew now Gisèle couldn't help but feel a little sorry for him, although the sympathy was unavoidably watered down by the absurd nature of the scene she was observing. "Sorry man, my bad. I've never met a 'Space Penguin' before." The underwear thing was still weird though. Maybe he found it lying in a ditch somewhere and couldn't afford any real tissues? There was a tragic thought, but not a surprising one. Who wouldn't the rich trample over for the sake of their own livelihoods and fortunes? This guy probably didn't have a cent on him and there was no way he could thrive in the dog-eat-dog environment people in the Lower Ward were forced to live in. "Must suck going from the stars to the Slums. I feel your pain little buddy, take care." She considered offering to lend an ear to him, but it was probably better she didn't. If he wanted to confide in a stranger then he'd ask her himself.

Drum blinked momentarily, unable to really comprehend what the girl was actually talking about. In the state he was in, though, he decided to go along with it as otherwise protesting would pertain to further strain on his already feeble and weakening body that was nearing its breaking point from the poisons he had consumed on his patrol.

So he nodded and blew his nose once again. "It's okay young miss. Everyone makes mistakes." He said through the nose blowings. "People don't usually know about Space Penguins and they just think of regular penguins but truth is we are a completely separate and more evolved species so I always decide to play the more mature one and refuse to get mad at them. Look at where it got me now...." The blue penguin was practically crying at the time as he spoke.
