| Today was, well, rather slow for the fortune teller. Maybe it was because of his specific choice of venue but it was really lame regardless. He thought this club in particular had really rad music but apparently he was in a minority so... Yeah, no where else to really go. He might as well lean back and enjoy the tunes.
Regardless, he sat at a portable table that had a purple cloth over it. There was a crystal ball on a velvet pillow on the table as well, but it was clearly set to the side rather than a focus of the table. Aside from that, there was also a lit candle that was releasing a sort of perfume about it. It smelt otherworldly, but not at all unappealing.
All a person needed to do was walk over to the young man and he'd be more than happy to start a conversation or a fortune should they ask.

| What had begun as a simple excuse to get some fresh air and maybe meet somebody new to ease in the process of taking Junction in had devolved (or evolved, depending on who you were to ask) into a lonely expedition throughout any places on Junction’s map that Lucian found particularly attention grabbing. He’d always enjoyed strolling around a city, especially if it was one he’d never been to before (Disguised and with bodyguards, of course), but this particular exploratory stroll had proved to be… well… like everything else in this god-forsaken city, impossible. There were just so many places, each with so many ups and downs and lefts and rights and centers that Lucian had given up on searching for the specific places he wanted to visit. As it stood, he simply strolled along the commercial district for now, waiting for the next public terminal to pop up so he could ask which way led back to the tram. At the very least, his eyes had no reason to be bored; the sight of all these alien species had initially been reason to feel unnerved, but to Lucian’s pleasant surprise, it soon became fascination. Everyone was so… different and varied. For a second, he almost felt… free. There went a bipedal gazelle, an eight-legged anthropomorphic reptile of some sort, a…. ball of hair, and his eyes even spotted a fortune teller. Not that the last one was a rarity of any sort when compared to the rest of the things he saw, but it was intriguing to see that the craft of fortune-telling wasn’t exclusive to his homeworld, at least with such a familiar appearance. Recollecting his thoughts and redirecting his eyes forward, Lucian continued to walk down the street, past all these mentioned individuals. | |

| He was satisfied with simply people watching. He'd lean back, closing his eyes as he listened to the music in the club. It fascinated him, the deep wubs and the high screeches of the electronic instruments used to make such unique sounds. It was really out of this world how brilliant it was. Though, something upset his peace for the moment and he didn't understand what.
It started in his stomach, a strange feeling that made him feel a little woozy... But not enough to really upset him. He'd stand up from his table and step closer to the side walk, glancing around as if trying to find something. He didn't really get it, no one felt... Malicious or something. It was like any normal day, plus there were even a few cops over there! No one would try something... Would they?
With a small sigh though, his eyes and veins would light up the pale, bright white color they did when he looked into the well of fate. Soon, though, they'd turn pitch black as a look of horror crossed the boy's face as he saw something horrific. With a cry of surprise, shock, and terror, he'd dash into the alley towards the nearest thing that looked like a trash can and, quite literally, repel whatever he had consumed the day before.
"What... The hell... Urp..." he'd cough out more of what he ate earlier today, his mind fixated on the man's fate that was so full of... It terrified him. And all his attention for that brief second had been on the man that had only just recently found himself in Junction.

| Lucian’s pacing was interrupted by the sound of a painful yelp nearby. His head turning on pure instinct towards the source of the noise, he saw the fortune teller he’d glanced at before run behind an alleyway and… oh… well, that was unfortunate. Even non-humans suffered from stomach problems every now and again, it seemed; he just hoped alien food wouldn’t be as daunting a task as alien sightseeing was. Whatever, usually he would offer assistance, but… something like this was a tinge more private, and he doubted he would’ve been wanted. It was none of his business, so the man would continue walking down the commercial ward.
A few seconds later, and the man found himself slowing down, every second slowing down more and more until he completely halted. He contemplated something for a few good seconds, a look of conflict adorning is face, before deciding to head back and help the fortune-teller after all. He peeked his head into the alleyway, spotting the aching boy not too deep into it, kneeling in front of a garbage pail. He slowly approached him, making sure not to seem too intrusive. “Excuse me, sir?” He began. “Do you need help?”

| With another dry heave, the boy would eventually find himself sitting down next to the trash can, a hand brushing his hair out of his teary eyes. God, he hated it when he got this sick. He just couldn't handle the strain on his body when it came to seeing such... Impending doom. He had seen it before in the past, people soon to die in terrible ways, those whose self harm was about to ruin their lives, and those simply trudging down a path of true dread. But this... This was something else entirely. Something so horrific and terrifying that he couldn't even begin to wrap his head around it.
"W-What?" his head was still pounding from the strain he had just went under. Everything was still spinning and he couldn't understand what was really going on around him. With a small huff, he'd look up at the man before quickly returning to dry heaving in the bucket. It'd take him a minute before able to calm down again, heavy breaths escaping him as he slowly looked up at the man.
"Y-Yeah... Peachy, couldn't you tell? The... Uh... Hah... The pinnacle of health." he'd say with a weak smile, his veins ever so slightly glowing a deeper shade of black. He'd try and hide his hands in his sleeves, but the veins were still very visible on his face not to mention his eyes. But, he forced upon himself a happy smile, strained but still as earnest as he could be.

| “Hey now, no need to be sarcastic.” Seriously, he was only trying to help. Lucian stood on his toes to peek over the boy’s head and get a look at the trash can he’d been puking into, onl- Holy hell that was a lot of vomit! In fact, he was fairly certain that was just about all the gastric acid a stomach capable of regurgitation could hold. And… were his veins glowing black? Lucian’s expression of slight annoyance was quickly replaced by vivid concern. Well, this was sudden and unexpected if nothing else. “Uh… stay here, I’m going to call for a doctor.” Stay calm, Lucian. What kind of sickness would even make one’s veins turn black? Though he realized he was in an alien city which would imply alien diseases, he genuinely hoped whatever this was wasn’t anything serious. The idea of someone growing deathly ill so suddenly after having looked so at peace (at least, the fortune-teller looked content the first time he saw him) was an unsettling and upsetting thought, to say the least. | |

| The youth's eyes would go wide for a second as he heard the words that the man uttered. Doctor? H-Hospital!? No! Wait, that was a terrible idea! If he went there his parents would find out and if they found out... Oh, it wouldn't end well... Nope, not at all. So, with a desperate attempt, he'd go to grab the man's arm as quickly as his weakened body could handle, a pant escaping him as he did so.
"H-Hey! So... Hah... Wow that took a lot of effort... Uhm... Hey! H-How about we don't do that, yeah? Really, this is normal for my kind... Virtue have a tendency to... Ahem... Wow this is a lot of words... Hah, um, we have a tendency to be very sensitive to other people... Um, someone probably was just super angry and it hit me like... Like a... Um... Big thing..." he'd say with pants every time he took a pause. It wasn't really easy talking like this... But the idea of his parents finding out about... This guy's fate... Ugh... Wait, i-it was this guy? Crud...
"S-So... Yeah... P-Pleasure to meet you. I'm just your... Um... Friendly black veined and midnight eyed fortune teller... Kind of attractive, wouldn't you agree? Hah... I flatter myself, really." he'd say with a weak smirk, again doing his best to lighten the mood despite the strain he was under. Looking into this guys fate... Not something he really wanted to do again...

| In all honesty, the boy’s attempts at delaying conversation felt more like incoherent rambling to the president before him. It was almost like he couldn’t properly string together a sentence, a sign of loss of consciousness… wait, consciousness? Was this a sort of fever? “If I may…” Lucian’s hand moved forward for half a second with the end goal of feeling the temperature on the fortune-teller’s forehead, before he realized that if this was a sort of sickness, touching the boy outright would be a stupid move. Lucian’s hand reached back into his coat’s inner breast pocket and pulled out a custom-made handkerchief, which he wrapped around his own hand as a sort of makeshift glove. Now assured, Lucian’s hand would wait for a moment to give the boy time to reject contact before sweeping aside his bangs and feeling the heat on his forehead… or lack thereof. The boy had no fever to speak of, but he was outright cold, like, unnaturally cold. “Why don’t you want to go to the hospital? This could be serious!” He didn’t buy this boy’s act of status quo; from the way he ran into the alleyway he could tell this was no normal occurrence. | |

| He wouldn't object to being touched on the forehead, a relief filled sigh escaping him as he sat back down on the ground, looking up at the man with a weak smile. Honestly, it was really nice of him to care so much about him. A stranger of all things to boot! Regardless, he'd shake his head gently, taking in a steady breath to try and speak more normally.
"Like I said, I'm a Virtue... Honestly, if I went to the hospital they'd discharge me in a minute or two once my body got re-calibrated to the emotional influx... Um, basically, do you know what an empath is? Think of a Virtue as one of those but ten times more impacted by the emotions of others. Really, I should be used to this by now... I think someone must have been really mad or something to make me this sick!" he'd say with a small laugh, his veins seeming to lessen their black glow. It was still present, and the boy doubted they'd go back to normal unless this guy left... But, it was fine as long as they were able to talk and... You know... Not go to the hospital.
"... Oh, do you think I'm like you? I get that a lot... Virtue were designed to look like the normal race of our world which was very humanoid in shape. The difference we had are our insides and our ears." he'd say with a small smirk, brushing his hair back to reveal tipped ears similar to an elves. Maybe this would make the guy believe him? Honestly, it was hard to tell... Was he new here? Maybe?

| Hmm… “…Alright, if you’re completely sure.” Lucian offered the fortune teller his hand to help him get back on his feet. He kinda figured this boy wasn’t human, at least not human as he knew it, but to belong to a race of empaths? If strong emotions caused this amount of trouble for them, he wondered what a society built entirely of them would be like and how it would function; at least this particular Virtue didn’t seem to be lacking in emotion, so he could only imagine what sort of problems arose. “You should probably seek hydration, though. Natural reaction or not that amount of lost gastric acid can’t be healthy.” Had they been in Lucian’s home territory, he would’ve been able to offer him nearly any drink. He’d definitely miss that privilege. | |

| "Yeah, like, more positive than a star! Wait..." he'd think for a moment, looking down at the ground before taking the offer to stand up again. He'd be slightly uneasy though, falling against the man with a small stumble forward. He'd smile nicely regardless, doing his best to stand on his own two feet afterwards. "Hah, sorry about that. I'm just a little unsure in my footing. Like, forty-five percent unsure!" he'd say with a small laugh, his energy coming back with a few strides. His stomach felt horrendous though and now that he mentioned it... He was a tad thirsty now... His veins still glowed a dark black.
"Yeah, you're right. Guess the side affects are kicking in! Eh heh... Sorry about this. You probably didn't want to end up helping a small ill young man. Is there anything I can do to repay your kindness?" he'd ask with a small tilt to his head, that ever charming smile crossing his face. He'd gladly wave towards his booth before walking over to it, taking out a bottle of water before sitting in his chair there. He was wondering if he'd come to his booth. I mean, it was basically what he was good at! Even if he would... You know... Lie... About it... Eh heh...

| Lucian quickly put his hands forward to catch the stumbling boy, managing to put his shoulder forward as a support before the boy in question managed to regain his balance. “Hey, don’t make any sudden movements; give your body time to recalibrate.” The coloring of the fortune-teller’s veins still bothered him, but… if he claimed it was a natural thing, there wasn’t much he could object to.
“I was just doing my duty as a person to help another, I don’t think there’s much there that needs to be repaid.” Honestly, were people in Junction just more indifferent than was the standard in Scarred Earth? Well, Scarred Earth in all technicality was a whole different level of indifference, but… that was a different subject and not what Lucian was trying to reason. “Now then, I think I should be going. Take care, okay?” And with that, Lucian took his leave.
As Lucian left, he couldn’t help but notice the lack of people coming in to take his place. The boy had set up a stall and was ready to serve customers even in the face of serious illness… and yet nobody seemed to be coming in for a reading. Lucian couldn’t help but feel a twinge of guilt, and well… now that he’d drawn attention to his mishap, he might’ve been adding wounds to the scar. Eh… to hell with it. Lucian sighed and made a u turn, approaching the fortune-teller once more. “Actually… do you think you could give me a reading? I’d pay for it, of course; I’m not expecting this to be that repayment.” He didn’t really believe in destiny, but it couldn’t hurt to help out a start-up business.

| He was surprised at the man's sudden leave, a small wave leaving him before he'd sigh. At least with him gone, that... Feeling would leave. And soon enough, the youth's veins would return to their normal pale white glow. He'd let out a sigh, resting back into his seat. Honestly, if he was going to leave then he may close up shop early. Honestly... He could use a good long bath and then an even longer rest...
Though, he'd notice that uneasy feeling returning to him as his veins began to glow the inky black. He'd open his eyes to look at Lucian once more, a small smile on his face. He came back? Huh... That was nice of him. At least they could talk a little more... And... To be honest, he wanted to look into his fate just one more time even if it would make him sick... Though, he'd fail to mention that... Terrible fate.
"Alright... Well, all my fortunes are free regardless. I just want to share my gift with people, guide them in the right direction to reach the fortune their fate hides. That's what we Virtue did for our kings and queens. We guided them to peace and serenity." he'd say with a small hint of pride behind his smile. He loved the stories of his home world and the amazing fortunes his parents had told their kings and queens. It was what drove him to guide those who came to him.
"Oh, well... Hand in hand now. I need you to close your eyes and focus on my voice. Don't open your eyes until I'm done, alright? Okay... Eyes of Virtue guide me..." his eyes would glow a bright inky black along with his veins. He'd stare deeply into the fate of the man that stood before him. It was... Like nothing he had seen before. Had he not been sick before, he would have probably fainted now looking this intimately into the man's fate. It was hard for him to focus on his job... That looming, impending, horrendous doom... It was like nothing he could fathom.
"U-Um... Sorry... I'm still a little weak... You seem to share that thing I've been seeing... It seems to be coming up soon. I'd advise caution just in case... It's neither doom or fortune but a mixture of both, if that makes sense." he'd say with a somewhat strained hum. It was getting hard to keep this link. That doom was making it hard not to get completely lost in it. It was like an all consuming void... Looking too deep into it was oddly tempting... As if that doom wanted to entice and consume more than just the man.
"Uh... Ah, I can see some fortune in your future... Let's see... Ah, fortune in the form of luck. It seems you'll stumble upon something special soon... An item, perhaps? I can't make it out for sure, but keep your eyes open." he'd say finding the small strain of fortune a comfort in the man's fate. He couldn't keep the link for long though, ending the session quickly after with a deep sigh. A tear would fall from his face, a small look of confusion crossing his face before he wiped it away. He was an empath, yes... But why was he... Feeling sorry? There was still so much time, he could easily find a way to help him avoid it, right? Right... Of course.- Fortune Received:
You have obtained a fortune from Cassiel Pendragon!
'Lucky Find': With this fortune, you may use it in a battle. When used, at the end of battle you'll find a rare item.
With this fortune, you can't have another one until this one is used! Good luck!!

| Free? Odd, if he was doing this out of a kindness and not a need to make ends meet, then either did this only as a hobby for amusement or he genuinely believed in his fortune-telling abilities. Not to mock his beliefs or his culture – there was no way of knowing if fortune-telling was deeply ingrained within it or if his alleged fortune-telling powers were even as fallacious as Lucian suspected them to be – but it was a recurring theme for people of said profession to simply use it as a means to exploit people out of their money. It was nice to see this was based on genuine belief, at least.
Lucian held the fortune-teller’s hands and closed his eyes, listening intently as the boy gave his explanation of what he saw in his future. Doom and fortune? Well, in Lucian’s eyes this could’ve accurately described any event at all; everything had a fortunate side and a doomful one, though some were more attuned to one side than the other while others seemed to have an equivalent balance. For the sake of simplicity, Lucian assumed this latter example is what the boy meant. “I see…”
Now, Lucian knew a lot of people who he would call emotional, but none that he knew would shed a tear from seemingly out of the blue. Now, as stated before, Lucian didn’t believe in fortune-telling or empathy or anything of the sort… but, the city around him was cause enough for him to suspend his disbelief. If he could accept the existence of Junction, he could accept the possibility that what the boy might be saying about fortune and about his empathic powers might be true. This, however, only made Lucian concerned about the reaction he’d had to his fate; he didn’t want to outright accuse of withholding information, but if there was something tear-worthy even for an empath in his future, he felt it would’ve been a decency to let him know. “Is there anything else I should know?” He asked inquisitively.

| He'd huff gently, putting on a charming smile. Really, he was one of few words all things considered. He was just told his future and all he said was 'I see'. It seemed just a little... Boring... He'd tilt his head slowly before speaking. Such a strange man...
"Ah, no. Don't worry about it... I don't... Really know why that happened. I guess I'm just overly emotional." he'd say with a small wave of his hand. This whole ordeal was something he didn't really understand. But... It felt nice none the less. He was glad he was able to meet this man if only once.
