| Though she expected help in handling Andrew's misfortune, it didn't come so quickly. Whatever she had done wrong, it was enough to put the terrorist duo behind her away and cause their exit of the stage, so to speak. Frustrating, yes, but not unmanageable. More so, the fact they were lonely now - they, as in, Brittany and the demonic self of Andrew - meant she could feel more at ease to try and find a solution. If there's any, that is.
For now, Andrew's sobbing and crying seemed to soothe until he stopped completely, a sign her antics worked to an extent. No, Brittany was no heroine, even if she felt like one now thanks to the increasing confidence the discovery of supernatural powers gave her allied to the prowess against the Ice giant demon nights before, but Andrew didn't have to know about it.
"That's it, good boy! So you know I came here for you, right?"
At least this part of her attempts to play an assured sentai heroine worked. Now how to go from there? A bout of silence, a sigh, a predicament. The semblance of confidence was there still and the only remainders of Brittany's possible lead in how to deal with the controversy at hands. Maybe if she waited long enough, Andrew could just return to normal now that the demons who turned him into one of their kind were defeated? "Time is the best healer", they say.
"Now listen. Uhhh...about these memories of yours...what else do you remember? I want you to tell me everything. Anything you can remember... Okay?", she smiled, rubbing one thumb over his face as an unpretentious gesture of consolation. Maybe, just maybe Andrew could tell more of the transformation's consequences to his psyche, Brittany could find a lead into undoing the damage to his body instead of waiting for the changes to reverse themselves with time passing. When you're empty-handed and desperate, anything can become a start if you have to start from somewhere.

| Andrew nodded at the Pretty Guardian’s first question. It was one thing to merely dream about being rescued by a beautiful Pretty Guardian, and it was an entirely different experience to actually meet one in person. Don’t get the wrong idea, Andrew had always, in his naiveté and in innocence, believed that Pretty Guardians existed somewhere out there, but it still came as quite a shock to actually see one. To be fair though, he had just up and remembered that he was actually a demon, so there was very little that could actually surprise him at the moment. The Pretty Guardian in front of him though… she wasn’t any Pretty Guard that he’d seen on TV. He figured it made sense though, since they wanted to keep their identities secret then it would be pretty dumb to show real Pretty Guardians in the show. “Who… are you?”
He subconsciously nuzzled against her hand as she ran her thumb through his cheeks, not dissimilar to a pet cat or dog being pet by its owner. She would probably feel it rather comfortable, as in this form Andrew’s skin was covered in fur that just so happened to be smooth and fluffy… when dry, that is. “Uh…” Well, this was an uncomfortable topic. “I… I don’t know… I remember my real name and having had this form before… I remember liking to hurt people and use others… and I remember a scary place… dark and weird…” Was that hell? Demons came from hell, right? “It’s all a blur… I don’t remember anything really specific… but I do remember all this stuff.” Andrew couldn’t help but begin to cry again, except this time it wasn’t a loud sobbing of fear and confusion; no, these were silent, sobless tears of desperation and sorrow. No sniffing, sobbing, choking or any other expression of sadness: just tears. “I think I was someone entirely different before being Andrew. Can… can I still be Andrew?”

| "I'm the Pretty Guardian B. You know me?" She didn't quite expect Andrew to believe she was a superheroine right off the bat. After the Divide, world changed. So did its people, including her. Many don't know a world without demons and dangerous people wielding the "magic" of Personas. Superheroes are as much nonexistent as fables or fairy tales, no wonder the boy would be skeptical about their existence, which is part of why she's doing what she's doing. She didn't have to be a cadet to put her newfound powers to good practice and become the hero this child needed right now. "Of course you can! You're still yourself, okay?", the smile was still there, as her hands caressed the surface of the weird fur the demon-like figure displayed. It was odd... At first she thought this demon was one more scary, malevolent being, and now she found out its true identity was the same child at heart, it was like the monstrous appearance meant nothing to her. Actually, the fur was kinda fluffy to rub and treat with fond indulgence. "I'm gonna be here and stay with you until you come back to being who you have always been... So you won't feel lonely... What do you say?" | |
