Subject: Raidou Kuzunoha vs The Heretic [Afternoon Plot - Closed] Sun Apr 30, 2017 7:17 pm
----------------------------
There were some cases that could not be handled by the Cadets or the Police. Raidou Kuzunoha knew this, and she understood her duty as a Summoner within this busy land of "Endymion". She did crave the Far East, where her home and the Yatagarasu were located, but she had a duty here. When humans needed assistance, they turned towards Cadets. However, what of demons within the city? As a Summoner she communicated with both the Demons and Humans of the world. If a demon were to go to the Cadets for assistance, they would be killed on the spot. She was the last person they could turn too, and she understood that not all demons were enemies to humans. After all, there were a number of demons she currently worked with on a daily basis.
Raidou walked through the busy streets of Little Tokyo with a smile on her face. It certainly reminded her of home, but she had to remember there was business to be done. Gouto followed close behind, following the trail of her makeshift cape as she stopped at the entrance to a small shop. Looking at the door, it clearly said no pets were allowed. The Summoner looked to Gouto and the cat looked back at her. Though it was hard to tell, it was obvious there was a look of annoyance upon the Black Cat's face. Raidou shrugged before kneeling down to her partner and seemingly conversing with the Black cat. Others would think this was just a Master speaking to its pet, but it was entirely the other way around. They heard meows, but Raidou heard words from this special cat. The feline was her Mentor and teacher. A Kuzunoha before her time, punished for a crime they had comitted and cursed to show guidance to all that would hold the title of Raidou after them.
"Another case of disappearances? Whisked away by this "Heretic" and found a few hours later not even able to speak or tie their own shoes? We've seen cases like this in the past, but those mysterious disappearances were done by demons. Those people were brought into the Dark World: A world infested with demons parallel to that of the real world. But this.. Hmm, this is something else entirely. I'd say this "Heretic" is a human. But, to be able to turn these people into apathetic vegetables is the true mystery. It's up to us to give some answers to the loved ones of these lost souls." The Black Cat spoke with a mature male voice. Raidou listened intently to her Mentor, and would nod her head after every few words. Standing from her kneeling position, she'd remove a piece of paper from her pockets and examine the case file.
"Apparently the Demon who created this Case File is in a relationship with the missing Man. To make things even more interesting, this man is a Cadet that has been stationed on the outer rim of the city. Hm.." The young woman placed a finger to her temple and closed her eyes in thought. "I'm sure this relationship has been kept in secret from everyone. It's not rare to see a Demon disguising themselves as a human and being in a relationship with an actual human. Love isn't stopped simply by race. But I know for a fact the Cadet must have kept this secret from everyone. After all, serving the Government and being involved with demons in such a way? There's a chance they could have locked them away." The Detective made the deduction, explaining her thoughts to her mentor at a low tone. She didn't need anyone over hearing anything of importance.
"This is so strange. This "Heretic" as they have been called.. has not only attacked "Terrorists" but also "Cadets" in the same fashion. They've never attacked anyone who didn't hold the ability to summon demons from their soul, but hold some sort of malice or something close to it to those who hold that power. Yet, he or she is not killing them. Simply... killing all sense of motivation from their being. They're no better than dolls." The woman more so spoke to herself before turning to face the door. Gouto would jump upon a pile of broken crates and await the Kuzunoha outside as she'd enter the store to meet the Demon who sought her help.
"T-Thank you so much for coming. I don't know what to do.. W-Who to call! He has been missing for days. Please, I just need to know if he is okay. I have no one else to turn too." The Demon, disguised as a Woman, spoke with worry. She was honestly no different from a human. Raidou could tell there was fear and sorrow in her heart, and that was enough to extend a hand to help her. Atleast, try to help her get closure. It only took a few hours for the Heretic to cause their victims to go into such a vegetable state. This person had been missing for days? Most likely, they were already lost. But this Raidou wanted to believe in hope. Something her previous teacher spoke of before his untimely.. death.
"I understand, I'll use all my resources to find him as soon as possible. I will do all I can to assist you, not only as a Detective but as the liaison of Demon and Human kind." The young woman tipped her hat to the demon who seemed to have some distress leave her heart from the words. Walking to her counter, the demon would remove a picture from a frame. Handing it to Raidou, the woman would wipe a growing tear in her eye and give a hopeful thin smile.
"Here is something of reference. He may look like a high school drop out, but he is very efficient at his job. He's been offered to join Class Zero a number of times, but turned it down. You see he lived out in East Eden the majority of his life. He knows how hard it is at the outer rim of the City and wishes to protect them at all costs. He feels he can't do that if he's relocated in the heart of the city." The Demon spoke of her lover and husband with respect, and almost seemed to be reminiscing about their past. Was it possible they had met out in East Eden? Was it possible at once she was a demon he needed to fight against to protect the people? Is that how they fell in love? Such thoughts went through Raidou Kuzunoha's head, showing her age as a young woman with thoughts of romance she, herself, could never get involved with.
Snapping back to reality, the Detective bowed her head and took her leave with the photo. The longer she waited to find this man, the more there was a chance he'd be loss forever. She had a lead, and it was East Eden. Thus Raidou Kuzunoha and Gouto took their leave from Little Tokyo. Their eyes shifted towards the outer rim of the city: An area they were not assigned too. As the Raidou, they were inclined to work solely within the city. The outer rim was in the realm of Geirin Kuzunoha, and thus she knew there would be an issue if she were found out. She'd have to be careful investigating this case further.
