| It was a quiet day. Bernard with some assistance of her owner had been linked with one of these elderly guys who worked at the riverway in little Tokyo. It was a small time job that to be honest did not give that much, however Brit thought it was a good idea for Bernard to attempt something. After all if Bernard had a job that would make things even better yes? The owl had been dropped off at the riverway by her owner and simply left there until the man that she was supposed to assist came over. Waiting for him impatiently the hoo would begin to ruffle her feathers. How dare this geezer be late for someone as special as her. Shaking my head she thought to herself as the owl would simply look around. How would she be able to tell or discern the person who had hired her assistance was an even bigger question of it's own right now to put it simply.
So the owl waited impatiently. Wondering when the man would simpyl come to her, she was curious after all when this guy would come. As time flew by the owl developed some semblance of patience while waiting. Now normally this would translate to her understanding I think increasing, but this is a job. So that fails,
So as Bernard was sitting around. An elderly man started to walk towards the riverbank, noticing the owl. Ohohohoh. Are you the bird that was sent to help me?A man in clearly fishing gear with some slight wrinkles on his face had approached bernard and was looking down at the small owl. As much as she wanted to talk to him, the owl simply settled with hooing at him. After all she uh...Could not afford to give away her cover or anything while in public. The man began to sit down, and would start to get out his rod. You seem rather different than I thought you would be. I didn't think anyone owned an owl in this city, owls are hard to find around here. Your a rare little guy.The man would pet Bernard slightly as he cast his rod into the water, hoping to catch something while Bernard simply hood. As much as the hoo wanted to chastise him for calling her a guy, she remembered her name easily confused people and as a result she would just let it go~.
Alright now just what can I call you mister....The man started to search bernard to which she did not mind for a name tag of some kind, in order to confirm she was indeed the bird that was sent to actually assist him in fishing. Searching the white colored bird he would find her classic tag that read "BERNARD" in big letter alongside "BERNIE <3". So Mister Bernard was it!The owl would appear to hoo back in response, recognizing her name being called. Alright Bernard. I'm going to keep this simple for you, there's these dang fish that keep surfacing around this river and getting out of my hook for some reason. I can't seem to catch one, so you gotta go out there and snap em up whenever they start to surface ok?Bernard was perfectly capable of understanding complex instructions such as these, which was why the young hoo was offered up for such a job in the first place. Nodding her head almost like a human, the man would smirk back. Wow. They sure don't raise them like they do you huh.If bernard could smirk, she certainly would at the compliment she just recieve. The girl owl was a prized possession amongst endymion, soon she would even be a fashion model among-st the people with how adorable and elegant she looked yes!
Alright now just wait until a catch starts to pop up little guy, when you see something start to surface I want you to run out there and catch it.And so, Bernard would perch herself at the very ready to catch anything that began to came up to surface on the river. It was a common thing birds did you see, they were capable of attacking fishes that were close to shallow water or coming up to rise for some damn reason in order to actually hunt and consume them. The problem here however was Bernard had to NOT EAT them. Which was proving to be a struggle of it's own Bernard would write on her blog on tumblr, the owl that can't eat what it catches and maybe get a entire movement following her.
The owl began to wait patiently, observing the river for any former signs of life that were beginning to rise. However the fisherman remained quiet for a good amount of time before starting to actually speak up. Rather quiet day at the river. He said while still keeping his rod out, nothing seemed to come up at his bait, and bernard wasn't exactly noticing anything too special in the water right now either. It's a real shame that great divide thing had to happen. You were around for that little guy?Surprisingly, the owl would turn to the fisherman and nod before moving back to where she was looking. The fisherman himself was in awe and amazed by how this owl to some extent was capable of talking without actually speaking. It was capable of understanding complex commands and even knowing about events that have occurred.
Yeah it was a real shame for these folks to all stay in one city...Hell atleast someone stood up and made a city! Can you imagine if we were stuck outside of it!Would be a real crying shame for everybody, especially with no way for us fellers to defend ourselves much against these dang demons. There's these cadets though. Good folk that defend us.The man would continue on and on about his perspective on things while the owl simply listened. She could not say anything beyond hoos to the man, after all Bernadette did not want to give away her position at this moment in time whatsoever....So how did you get to this city? The man simply offered bernadette as a question, in response she would flap her wings at him. Indicating she actually had to fly over. Wow!You flew!I've heard of some nasty critters outside of this city, I can't imagine actually seeing one up face to face. Lord knows I did a long time ago when this all first started...
There was a moment of silence between the two of them as some form of sympathies for those that did not make it out alive of this event, which really did take a hell of alot of lives. Time would pass and frankly not much of a catch seemed to appear today as of this moment. It was almost an eerie sense of silence across the river which did not help Bernards mood at the time. She had alot on her mind that had to do with her current reality and what she was considering. Then, a sudden surprised managed to manifest itself right before her eyes. It was nearly a miracle as she saw a fish that was near surface level within the river. Without any form of hesitation Bernard would begin to fly at it, the wind brushing against her wings as her flight made utterly and literally no sound. Allowing her to get the drop on this fish without it noticing much before it was too late. It was some kind of small salmon or whatever, the fish would be descended upon by reality in the form of the owl. As she would simply brush her talons against it and with a strong grasp actually crush the fish in her vice grip. Gotcha motherfucker. The owl mused to herself as she would fly back to the fisherman hooing, then proceeding to drop the fish directly in front of him before flapping her wings slightly excited. The fisherman himself would be rather surprised by this catch and would pick up the small salmon in his hands. Huh wow, Good catch Bernard. Keep this up and soon we'll be swimming with the fishes!Get it?The owl would simply hoo back at the man, in reality she was groaning on the inside at his rather horrible sense of humor. Time would fly, and the bird would continue to zip back and forth, catching fishes with her cute little talons and dropping them into the man's hat to contain them.
Eventually time would pass, and the man's hat would be full of fish. Upon noticing this, Bernard would seemingly signal at the man for some form of payment, in which an envelop was attached and taped onto her to be delivered. Come back now you hear Bernard! I really appreciate it!The man would call out as Bernard flapped into the day.
