| Akira needed to get out of her house for the afternoon. Her routine was getting tiresome; she would wake up, speak to scientists about how the plume of dusk research was coming along, talk to her sister in her containment unit for an hour, then go back to sleep. Every day she would repeat, occasionally eating and bathing like a normal human. She wasn't really human anymore, especially after her own heart was replaced with the one that kept her sister alive. Sometimes she wished her sister hadn't given up everything for her; she was made to replace Akira so she didn't understand why she was the one alive right now while her sister's body rusted away. Most of these things being the reason she wanted to get out of the house, it has been at least a month since she had seen her own street. A trip down the street to the strip for the festival would help. She used to go to the shops when she was young, her father carrying her there so her heart wouldn't be put through too much work. Now she could go there without even an escort, being old enough to walk the streets alone. Besides, nothing really scared her anymore, as she wasn't really human in the first place. The festivities were about to start, and for the first time in awhile, she was genuinely excited. Of course it wasn't the best festival in the world, she was still happy that she'd be doing something else than thinking about her sister or her company. | |

| Takeru sighed. The festivities always brought back memories of happier times spent as a child. He remembered the sight of the many anime shops he visited, quite a few of them being places he really liked visiting above all else here. So many memories that brought back nostalgia... Now, of course, times had changed. Many of the shops from back then had changed significantly, and with them, the parade. He thought back, and smirked to himself quietly. He remembered how energetic he had been back then, cheerfully unafraid of everyone. Of course, that was before that day...
Shaking his head to dispel such thoughts, a girl off to the side had caught his eye, and he walked over to try and talk to her. "Well, aren't we trying to be a flirt? Normally, you don't act like this. I suppose that when I came out, so did most of your inhibitions, but... Takeru? Takeru? Oh my god..." Twelve sighed mentally as Takeru tuned him out. He really should have known better than to try and stop him from doing what he would. After all, the two were the same.
"Hey there. Enjoying the festival? You look like you haven't seen it in a long time... Must bring back memories, huh? I remember seeing this when I was a kid, and loving it, kinda like what you're doing now. Still kinda do love this, actually..." He said.
Oh yeah, i'm Takeru, by the way. Takeru Kagemaru." He added quickly, introducing himself as he stood next to her.

| Akira wasn't approached much, most people knew who she was. Most of their technology was made by her company. Although she tried to stay out of media coverage, since she really would like to stay out of the spotlight. Though sometimes life gets in the way and everyone gets a sudden interest in her again. But most people who approach her, talk to her as if they are speaking to a woman of power. But the boy who just approached her, spoke to her as if he didn't know her. On top of the fact that she grew up alone with no one to talk to than her sister, she was completely lost as how to even keep up a conversation. "Oh..." She paused for a moment before looking towards the parade, trying to avoid eye contact. "Yes. It's been quite some time since I was here, even though I live just down the road." She smiled a bit, thinking about going there before the incident. "Even though it's painful, I must admit I miss feeling things. It's nice to remember them in a better light." Her parents were always working and were always teaching her how enough to take over the company, it was a lot but she never once hated them for it. She looked back at the boy, feeling a bit strange, like a feeling in the pit of her stomach. It was like she was supposed to know something but she couldn't quite tell what it was. Whatever it was, she knew there was something about this boy that got her. He introduced herself and she tilted her head. He honestly had no idea who she was. "Uneo. Akira Uneo."- Strengths and Weaknesses:
—Strength Name: Supernatural Sense —Description: Ever since she was little, Akira has had a sixth sense when it came to supernatural situations. When in the general area with someone who has unlocked their potential, or in an area where a supernatural situation is about to or is going on, she gets a strange feeling in the core of her being that she can't quite explain. All she has to do is stand near someone with unlocked potential, and she can sense that they have some supernatural power; meaning anyone with potential would trigger this power. No matter how hard she hones this ability, she will never be able to tell the difference between Shadow Selves and Persona Users. She has yet to understand it, and still has to understand it before she can fully use it to benefit her. This could never help her discover the type of potential anyone has, or how much of it they possess; although stronger beings will feel stronger in some way.
—Weakness Name: Poor choice in words —Description: Her childhood was mostly school work and learning how to take over the family business, which left little time for a social life. Because of this, Akira has had little practice with speaking to people in general, and is prone to saying things that others might find offensive. This also means that she might accidentally insult someone without even trying, and she may not apologize because she wouldn't know how bad what she said was.

| Hm. Maybe that wasn't the best thing to start off with... even if she didn't seem mad, judging from her reactions Even if it some of it made no sense. "Um... oh. Sorry if it brought back painful memories for you..." He said nervously. The name though, triggered a brief surge of memory... "Uneo... where have I heard that name before..?" He thought back hard to his memories. And then... It hit him. "Huh. She has the same last name as that brand of technology, Uneo tech. Interesting." He thought. "Nice to meet you, Akira. This mini-carnival... it's quite colorful, isn't it? Even after the divide, things like this still happen... it's kinda nice..." He said. He thought about what to say for a moment before saying what came next. "Oh, that reminds me of something interesting for you. Do you know what the origin of the word carnival is?" He asked her. | |

| She smiled a bit, looking down at her feet. "It's alright. You kinda just get used to it after awhile. Everything gets numb." She continued to smile; it was mostly fake but it felt good so she continued. "Yeah. The queen is pretty generous. I haven't met her myself, but I work with people close to her. No one at my company has met her, my parents and my sister died during the divide." She looked up into the sky while speaking, her smile fading slowly as the words poured out of her mouth. It was weird talking to someone who doesn't even know who she is, but then again there was bound to be someone in the city that didn't know her. She laughed a bit when he asked what the origin of the word Carnival was, mostly because they were at a festival and not a carnival. She didn't say anything though, letting him believe whatever he wished. "Doesn't it stem from Latin, meaning 'put away flesh' or something?" She remembered seeing that on the internet at one point when she had her free time, though she doesn't remember exactly why she knew that. Most of her knowledge was computers, but she tried to learn other things in her free time. It can bring about a huge existential crisis when you are only good at one thing and one thing alone. | |

| He nodded at her words. "So she works a company job, and a pretty high one up as well, huh? My, she seems so young, and yet she's already really far up the ladder. Talk about your young teen geniuses." Takeru thought, much to Twelve's bemusement. Hearing her laugh was a welcome sign. She seemed happy. That was good. Happiness was always (in this case) good in his book. So he wasn't entirely surprised when she had some idea of the answer to his earlier question.
"Wow. I'm impressed. Not many people I've ever met know that. However, it's not entirely so. That would be a literal translation from the Latin source. A more appropiate translation from folklore would be 'farewell to the flesh', a translation of the late Latin expression 'carne vale'. It makes sense if you know that it was a festival where you could indulge in certain things held right before Ash Wednesday, where you're supposed to repent. Kinda like now, actually." He said.
"Sorry if I seemed to ramble there. I was just thinking about how it's good to have fun once in a while, y'know?" He explained.

| "I was close enough." She looked towards the festivities, watching children dance around with each other, jumping with excitement. The parade had started as the two were talking, and everyone was just happy and enjoying all the company of each other. She looked around and saw families; fathers and mothers all holding their children's hands and smiling. Everyone was happy. Of course life went on, she learned that the minute she woke up to find her sister's hollow shell was lying next to her. That night where she didn't move and sat there holding her sister, hoping everything would be alright. Everything was alright for now, but she knew she had to one day get her back. She had to work to get her back, cause there was a way to get her back. Then maybe they could live as a family and be happy again. She looked back to the boy, not really knowing what to say, but she held that up to her never having much contact with people when she was young. "I remember hearing the district leader comes here once in a blue moon. It's nice to see a busy person like them takes the time out of their day to come to the streets and celebrate with us." She smirked a bit; she knew it was probably for publicity and not for the people actually there but she wasn't going to say anything. "Have you lived in Little Tokyo since the divide or did you just come here to celebrate?" | |

| He nodded. She was, no doubt about it. She was watching the parade with a happy look, and so was he. So her remark on the district leader was a bit delayed in his response to it.
"True. Or maybe it's just for publicity. Or both, with one being pretense for the latter. Not that that's a bad thing, of course. Either way, it's pretty fun, so eh." He said with a shrug. Her next question did take him a bit by surprise. "Hm? Nah. I just came here to celebrate for a while. Like I said, everyone needs a break once in a while. Even district leaders." He said with a smirk and a quiet chuckle to himself. This was pretty fun.

| She looked back from the parade at the boy when he mentioned the publicity thing; that was exactly what she had just thought. It was probably a strange coincidence but it still caught her attention. "Yeah even if they didn't mean it, I'm still glad they take the time out of their day to do so. It makes the people happy, and happy people are easier to deal with." Of course she herself did not support the queen in any way, she just knew it was best to follow the law. She had no intentions of turning against the law and order of things and would much rather curl more up into the queens side than stretch out against her. Everything in their world seemed perfect, who cares what was happening behind the scenes? "You got that right. I've been reading paperwork so much I feel like I'm going to start printing out words instead of talking." She rolled her eyes, the sarcastic remark not coming out the way she originally intended it to but she didn't feel like correcting herself. | |

| Wow. She really pretty much got him. "Yup. Take a look at any conflict in history, and almost always, it's the side that has the people's support that wins." He replied with a nod. He really was glad she got what he meant with the break thing, even if it sounded like the sarcasm fell flat. [color=blue]"Heh. I can kinda see why. I mean, i'm a writer, and even I get sick of staring at words for way too long and figuring out what to put next. Times like that, it's practically a mental drain. S'also the reason why I go out once in a while: clears my head and writers block, you know?" He said with a quiet chuckle. | |

| "Got that right. Props to them for knowing how to calm the masses. After the divide everything just seemed to click." The conversation with this boy was difficult, as she had to keep responding and most of the time she just spoke to people about business. It was hard to speak about things that didn't relate to her work, which was causing her to run out of things to say very quickly. He was a writer though, which would have been good if she could relate. The only thing she had ever written in her life was code, how was she supposed to keep talking to this boy. If she was going to be honest, her instincts were telling her to avoid conversation at all costs, but the human interaction was decent so she didn't want to leave just yet. She thought for a second before speaking. "Oh that's interesting. What kinds of things do you write?" That's a good start, at least for her. She'd continue to watch the parade, not wanting to keep eye contact for too long. | |

| "Yep. Downright miraculous, considering we were practically ground zero for it." He said. He thought for a moment how to word his answer to her question. "Oh, nothing much. Just fantasy stuff. Mainly sci-fi." He answered. | |

| Akira nodded in agreeance to what he had said. Looking back to the parade again. The conversation was starting to slow down, which was good for her in some ways. She liked just sitting there and watching rather than talking. She noticed a little girl running up to jump in her dad's arms, but miscalculated the distance and fell straight on her face. She immediately looked away as if she hadn't seen anything; it was better to mind your own business then stare off at other people's. She responded to his writing comment a few moments after he said something, almost forgetting to say something back. "That's cool. I don't read anything but computer manuals that I need to approve and paperwork. I never really had time to read anything else as a child. When you're growing up to run a company you don't have time to be a kid." It was ironic because she had never planned on being the CEO of the Uneo group. Her heart condition wasn't really allowing her to think she would grow up to the age where she could take over. None of this should have happened in the first place. The divide is what caused all this strife in her life, it's the reason things are even like this. | |

| Hm? He noticed her staring at something off into the distance briefly, then break her gaze from it. He heard her comment. And that's when the proverbial penny dropped on him like an anvil from above. "She's the CEO of Uneo!" He realized. And then: "Well... at least she seems normal. It'd be weird now if I started talking to her any differently from now, so... guess I can skip the formalities there." He thought, mentally shrugging
"That must've sucked. Then again, this is coming from someone who spent most of his childhood a friendless recluse who wrote poetry, so I really shouldn't be saying things like that." He said, making a silent self-depreciative sigh. He then quickly changed the subject so that she wouldn't get depressed as well.
"Say,um, what were you looking at earlier? You had your eye on something, then you just... looked away. Something happen over there...?" He asked her.

| "I feel that." She continued to watch the parade move down the street as she spoke, paying attention to the details on the outfit of a specific woman who was dancing as she walked. It was honestly more beautiful than anything Akira had see in awhile. "The only friend I had was my sister, but I was mostly working on the work my mother assigned. I never really spent time with her." There was the few times that Akira would go downstairs and watch her sister train in battle. That was around the time where the supernatural funds in the group were put towards demon research and the use of strange supernatural powers. Akira tends not to read into it too much, since she doesn't want to read about her sister too much, it makes her upset to read the experiments they preformed on her to make sure she was fit for function. The battle program was completely unnecessary in her eyes, since Stria was only created to replace her sister when Akira was rendered completely unfit to be CEO. Which was the most likely option. "Also it was nothing. Just some people." She didn't really feel like getting into explaining anything about something that wasn't her business. | |
