Scarlet Evening [Red Rhythm Awakening]

Julius couldn't help, but notice there had been a larger spike in Cadet recruitment ever since the announcement on Seven Star's opening ceremony. A little more assistance and numbers to their cause wasn't a bad thing. But it also meant more responsibilities for the Cadet's Captain. With new recruits, this also meant inexperienced members. Through the essence of time, hopefully they will become more reliable. Endymion had been thriving very well lately, but there had been some foreboding tell-tale signs from time to time, especially with that evening at the Dragon's Spas and dealing with Alice. The Prince wondered if exactly what his Mother was expecting. Despite being mother and son, the Queen has always acted in her own mysterious manner. He glanced at the door leading into a Class Zero classroom. Soon, a new recruit should be coming by tonight and he was expecting them.

The thought played over and over on a loop within Red's head. Was she ready for this? Was it really a good idea? It could all go so easily wrong. She could end up in danger, end up displeasing the Queen, end up just making a complete fool of herself. She knew all these things to be true, and honestly they all terrified her. This wasn't something the red hooded girl would of ever dreamed she'd even consider undertaking, yet it had been playing at the back of her mind for a while now. There were so many reasons why she thought this was a bad idea, so many reasons why she just wanted to turn and run, so many reasons that were holding her here, standing just outside the door. A door that if she opened, her life would probably change forever. This was the last chance she had to turn and flee, every part of her self was telling her that was the best course of action. Yet, despite all of that, there was one thing that was keeping her stood there. One thing she was holding close, letting her know that this would be worth it, it just had to be.

Red was aware of the disaster that happened here in Endy five years ago, honestly she wasn't completely sure what happened that night, nor did she ever really want to find out. But everyone spreads rumors and in a city this large, the amount you hear about events especially ones as big as that, you just end up hearing all kinds of nonsense. Then you're left with the choice of deciding which gossiping people sound like they're making the most sense, yet just cause they make the most sense doesn't even mean that they're right. She wasn't sure what to believe, honestly she didn't believe anything she heard back then. No matter what the truth was though, she was old enough at the time to see what a negative affect the whole thing had on Endy. Everything just seemed to get worse, it's still never fully got back to how it used to be. At least, she could never see the city the same way again. Then to top it all of, that incident with Rose a year ago... Red would sniff slightly as she thought of those she wanted to protect. She couldn't protect Rose, she wish she could of done, but it was too late now. This wasn't going to be about revenge, Rose would of never approved of her big sis if she did all this just for that. No, this was important so that she could keep everyone she loved and cared for safe, all she wanted was to know she'd be some help if it was ever needed for her family and friends. If anything ever happened to Raine too... She just wouldn't know what to do with herself.

That was why she stood here today, why she couldn't just run away. This wasn't for her, this was for them. They were her power and they'll be her confidence to allow her to be able to protect them in return. Taking a deep breath in, Red would place her hand on the door and push it open. There was no turning back now. Finding her way to where she was requested to go, Red would enter the room where she found Julius waiting for her. Okay, okay. Keep yourself calm. No need to get flustered, just try not to mess it up right away. After taking a second to compose herself, the red hooded girl would bow in respect for the Prince. "A pleasure to meet you your highness, my names Red. Red Rhythm. Thank you for sparing the time to see me today, I'd like to offer my services to the city." She'd say, smiling softly. There we go, that didn't go too badly now did it? She'd stand and wait for the Prince to reply, not wanting to talk for longer than she was supposed to without being told to.

He already heard footsteps echoing outside of the room. Judging by the sound, there was only one person coming in. With each step, the echoing became louder as if heralding the arrival of the new recruit. As the door began to open, the first thing he actually noticed how red the child appeared in garb. She was very short, and obviously very young. Was there a reason why she had a hood up? "A pleasure to meet you, Rhythm. If you would, can you please pull back your hood?"

Normally, coming in for employment, putting off your hood would be the obvious thing to do in order to have a kind of professional connection between employee and employer.

"O-oh, heh, right. Certainly." The girl would say slightly embarrassed as she raised her hands up to her hood to lower it around her neck. That was stupid of her, she should of known to take that down before coming in at all. She had it up outside as it wasn't that warm today, she had just completely forgotten about it. Especially with how used to having it up she was most of the time.

"My reasons?" Red would repeat, giving herself a second to think whilst repeating the line. "This may sound kinda cliché, but it's for my family other than for myself. I want to join to help keep this city safe for my mother, father and little sister as well as every other citizen of this city that deserves a peaceful life." She'd explain honestly. She knew it was cliché, and the Prince was probably bored of hearing that as the reason for joining by now, but it was her honest reason and there was no reason to lie to try and spice it up or anything.

Same reasons as always. It's seemingly to be a common theme with a lot of the Cadet recruits. But nevertheless, Julius remained as respectful as possible with Red. He nodded in satisfaction with the young child, "It is a good reason, nevertheless. The Cadets will always open their arms for a cause such as yours. Now, let us begin."

Julius turned around to put his hand around a goblet of gold that was resting behind him on a desk. He brought forward the cup towards Red. It looked like a liquid took up its contents, and it was scarlet like her hood. He held it before her and solemnly began to speak.


As she did so, even after taking the goblet from him, Julius would soon watch as mind-numbing pain began to flood her very nerves. The liquid was sweet, but soon to be bittersweet as the sensation wracked against her sanity. Julius noticed there was something wrong, but something familiar.


As Red was writhing from the pain more violently than the other Cadet recruits, he began to draw his blade. It was her own Shadow trying to consume her very ego, and soon she would become a Demon. With a quick flourish, inches of steel dug deep inside her skull. The metallic intervention stopped the transformation, but it allowed the Shadow to continue consuming her.

Instead of becoming a demon, the hidden inner self that she locked away from the world was soon free. Julius pulled the sword out and walked back to observe the result. He watched to see the new 'Red' become accustomed to her awakening.

The girl would nod at the Princes respect for her reasons being here. "Thank you." She'd say simply as he told her that the cadets would accept her. Welp, this was it, the moment of truth.

Red would kneel down on one leg as requested as she spoke the lines she had prepared earlier so that she didn't screw them up. "For the protection of those I love, those that matter and those who deserve peace. I will give myself to this city and the Queen to protect in anyway that I can." She'd then proceed to stand back up and cautiously take the goblet from the Prince and hold it in her own hands. The liquid inside the goblet looked strange, not like anything she had ever seen before. It's red colour for once made the girl feel slightly on edge instead of filling her with the motivation it usually did. Regardless, it was too late to turn back now. It's okay, just don't think about it and everything will be fine. With that in mind, the girl would quickly drink some of the liquid that was housed in the goblet. It's strange, foreign taste confusing her before moments later causing her to double over in pain, clutching her head tightly.

She felt like screaming, yet the pain was too much for her to even be able to catch the breath to be able to. The horrific sensation was too much for her to bare, she couldn't even think straight to know what if anything she could do to stop it. Her mind was being consumed from the inside and at an alarming rate, she was quickly losing the very self that she was. In moments she was unable to even think a simple thought, her entire mind was just fixated on the stabbing pain that lashed out wildly at her head. That was until one even greater pain shock right through her... There was no way to know that it was the Prince's blade, she didn't have to ability to recognize the difference right now. Instead as the last parts of her ego that were being taken over was complete, the piercing pain would finally rest. Leaving the girl to fall to her knees, still clutching her head from the agonizing headache that was left behind. "T-.... Th-..." The girl would attempt to speak, yet she had to stop and just breathe instead. Eventually without moving her head, the girl would raise up her eyes to look at Julius, still panting heavily. "Th...at was... C...ertainly an experience..."

Slowly and carefully, the girl would place her hands on the ground beside her and push herself back up to her feet. She would stumble slightly, still slightly dazed by the headache that lingered. She felt so bizarre, so different and yet complete at the same time. What even happened just now, it was all so fast and the sensations were unearthly. "Gotta... Admit... That was... Quite the rush..." She'd continue, shaking her head lightly to try and regain focus. "Heh..."

Julius watched as she was starting to get back up on her feet. His expression continued to look solemn, but he seemed to be satisfied with the result. From his coat pocket, the Prince drew out a scroll and unfurled it. The lettering inside glowed with power before consuming it. Something had been summoned in their midst. "Let us now test your newly found potential. Eliminate this demon."

The girl would watch in slight confusion as the Prince reached inside of his coat pocket and pulled out... A scroll? "Huh? W-wait, what?" The girls eyes would widen as the so called demon materialized in front of her, the hell was that thing! Her mind would try to pull her body away, wanting to get away from whatever the hell that thing was that the Prince just made appear. Yet her body would be frozen in place, and in fact from deep within herself a low bearing growl would echo from her throat. This was madness. She'd take a sudden glace down at her hand as a strange sensation started taking over her hand and racing up her body as fur grew long and black from her hand and her body began to change completely. "Heh... No going back, right?"

There was no use, the girl would give in and let the whole process happen. She'd quickly fall back to her knees after losing balance from her legs which seemed to displace themselves completely into a whole new shape, her clothes almost seemed to become the fur itself on her body, the worst pain was the feeling of her spine extend out into a full tail. Yet once the transformation was mostly complete, the instincts of her true form kicked in and the pain was quickly shoved aside, it was petty and meaningless. There was an easy prey locked in sights of her now blood red eyes.



The newly formed Scarlet Wolf would slowly and intimidatingly paw her way over towards the demon that stood before her. Licking her lips, the wolf would suddenly pounce into combat.

In the heat of the excitement, alongside the fact the girl wasn't quite used to her new body yet caused Red to lash out at nothing with her first strike before actually hitting with the second. The smell of battle was amazing, she just had to sink her teeth further into this.
