Nilo took a moment to contemplate on himself before his wounds began to be sown up. He wasn't fully healed as his mother was doing far more damage than he could eventually restore, but it would keep him alive for a little longer. Perhaps he might remember something in the future. "Do you see Mother? This struggle is pointless. It will continue to go on, neverending. Just stop..."

She'd huff after the last attack, seeing her son heal the wounds she inflicted upon him made her feel... Bad. She was attacking her son, hurting him... But, she was doing it to save him. It didn't make sense when you laid it that way. It was a hypocritical statement... To help him, she had to first hurt him... What nonsense was that?

It was her nonsense, and his nonsense, though. She was too stubborn to let him disappear, and he was too stubborn to let her change the past. She knew that now... This was a battle of whose will would break first. She couldn't let her's faulter... Not now, not after all she had struggled for.

"Even if this fight never ends... Even if the universe itself crumbles around us into dust... Nilo, this struggle is not pointless because I'm doing it for you. I won't let you die! You don't understand. Why won't you listen to me? Just let me save you."

Something appeared to change in Nilo's demeanor over the span of a single moment. after Raina had mended herself, Nilo began to clutch his head with a single hand. As he did, the area around the two began to flicker, and the light that appeared to be emanating as though they were in heaven dimmed slightly. It was almost like a veil was slowly being lifted the moment something unknown happened. He didn't seem as concerned with fighting, so much as he was confused, or disoriented even. Out of the corner of Raina's eyes, she could see small black dots in the distance before they flickered into light. Was something boring through?

She would flinch as Nilo's demeanor changed, her hand instinctively reaching out to him before she felt the changes around her. As the light dimmed, she'd instantly grasp at her heart as the cold, unrelenting fear exploded within her chest. Something was happening... And she couldn't let it finish until she did what she came here for. The haven they had been fighting in was under attack itself, she presumed... She was at the center of the core, it made sense that the center of the conflicts would eventually diverge here. But she didn't think they would be done so quickly... She wasn't ready to deal with them.

"No... No no no! I-I can't be stopped now! I-I just..." she'd bring a shaking hand to her cheek, brushing a wayward tear away. What had she been doing this entire time, really...? She had been attacking her son, forcing him to fight her. It may have been done with the intention of saving him and bringing him back to life... But...

"It... Seems we're running out of time, Nilo... I... I won't fight you anymore. I... Can't anymore, can I...? I couldn't defeat you when I was trying my hardest, and now... There just won't be enough time... I won't spend that time fighting you..." she'd say solemnly, hugging herself gently as she said those words. She was resigning her fate to whether or not he'd let her fix everything... Deep down, though, she didn't believe he would.

"Here... Let me help you... I'm sorry, I must have caused you so much pain... I suppose I'm not an ideal mother, am I?" she'd laugh sadly as she stepped forward towards her son, her persona leaping out of the forming mist around the woman before floating towards Nilo. If he'd allow it, the small doll like persona would raise up the bouquet she held and send a healing aura towards him.

"Nilo... I know you don't want me sending you back home... To risk myself for you... But, you understand I willingly want to do it for you? That, seeing your face now makes me want to preserve what little life left you have even more? You're the last thing I had in that world, Nilo... And I want to put you back there so that you can continue living the life you deserve." she'd say quietly before looking at her son with a small smile. She wouldn't say much more to disturb him. She wanted to save him, yes, but using force wouldn't get there in time... She'd rather spend these last moments with him than fight him until they both lost.

As Nilo continued to writhe, the area around Rain and him began to change. Soon, with the arrival of those far away, her vision began to shift from an environment without description, to being almost floating near a large sphere with monstrosities leaking out of it.

As that happened, she could see Angel and the rest of those that came to help her off with each other, fighting one of it's larger tentacles that had them surrounded. Nilo's face began to crack like glass though it did not shatter. "Hngh....so the world really is in trouble...like I thought...." He looked up towards the core before his body flickered, forcing him to look away. On top of which, she could see familiar faces far off in the distance fighting a monster she had never seen before. What was Raina going to do now? It appeared that Nilo was unable to fight, and she could get an advantage on him this time, but what would happen if she chose to abandon him to others? was there another option? She could think it out, after all her son had stopped fighting...

She'd stare blankly at the mass appeared in front of her, a defeated sigh escaping her. She felt nothing for any of this. People didn't matter to her, the world didn't matter to her, nothing did... This was a pointless view she was seeing, and all she wanted was to save her son... But she couldn't do that now, could she? She'd turn to face her son with a visible shiver. She wasn't expecting to see that crack, that flicker of his body. It made her shudder in despair.

"Yes... I thought those I was with could handle things easily enough yet... Sadly, it seems as if the incident has only grown worse." she'd say silently, glancing off into the distance at the fighting parties. She acknowledged those who had helped her off in the distance and noticed a few faces fighting a strange entity she wasn't familiar with. It was so surreal seeing this, and not having any emotions towards it.

"Nilo... I need you to tell me the truth... I-Is there anyway, any possible way I can save you? Look at what's happening around us... I couldn't do anything to stop this madness... But... What if we switched places...? Could we do that?" she'd say with a small tilt to her head, a sad smile on her face. What if she had attained the power Nilo had back then. What if she went in his place, died instead of him, let him still live with his friends... Let him grow up to be something truly remarkable, unlike the sad mess she had become.

"You said you cared about your friends... And that you care about me... Nilo... I haven't accepted you leaving when you did. It wasn't supposed to happen... I know Jack still blames himself and I can't imagine Hyacinth falling ill was completely coincidental... You mean so much to people, dear... And I want you to go back to them, to live with them, to fall in love and laugh and cry and everything I... Can't..." she'd say with a meek smile, shaking her head as she dropped the boy's journal. Where it went, what happened to it... She didn't care. She wasn't going to do anything unless it was for her son now. Purely, and one hundred percent for him.

"I have no friends... No family to go back too... Your father died years before you... I'm alone, Nilo... Perfectly and utterly alone... But you wouldn't be... You wouldn't be thrown into a conflict like this alone, scared, unsure of yourself... No, you'd have Jack, Charles, Hyde... Even those kids that came to save you when you saw that other you." she'd say with a nod of her head, looking over to her son with a final look of determination in her eyes. If this wouldn't convince him... If this wouldn't make him reason with her, make him see from her point of view...

"My life means nothing without you... And I can't live without you, Nilo... I don't ever want to knowingly give up on you. Please... If I can do this for you, let me... Let me die knowing I did everything I could for you..."

Nilo looked to his mother. "I feel like now it's an ultimatum at this point. I don't want to see you not have a life to return to...but..." he said, thinking more. "Maybe if you choose to stay alive, we can perhaps fix this in time for me to return and move on." He said, walking towards Raina and giving a tiny child-like smile. "I'll make you a deal. If we trade places, I will go help my friends. But, when this is all said and done, I will return here. This world will change if we both remain traded, and I don't want to rob my friends of their future they are fighting for. We won't have much time from here on. But that is the only condition I will trade with you. You have to let me return to retake my place here." He said, holding out his hand. If Rain decided to take the deal, then Raina would need to grab his hand, and Nilo would be able to begin a sort of process. Nilo would be able to return to his old life for one final bout. Having said that, he would not be alive in any sense of the word, more like a spirit reanimated by Raina's own strength and the cosmic forces that were slowly bending and twisting in this universe. There was a good chance that if Nilo perished while on this journey then history would be altered forever, but was that a risk worth taking? He allowed himself to die and was ready to move on until he saw that the struggles they faced were still not over. Maybe, just maybe he would be needed again.

She'd solemnly nod her head at the deal. She didn't of any other way to give him back life. She didn't want to trade places with him again, she wanted him to be there, live the life robbed from him. But, she couldn't think about that now. Maybe there was something she could do whilst they were traded... Something, anything. She knew she'd be breaking the promise she was about to make, but mother knew best...

"I'll allow it. I'll make this promise with you, Nilo. Go help Jack, wherever he is... I can't imagine he hasn't gotten into some huge mess..." she'd say with a sad laugh, grabbing her son's hand with both of her's. Though, once the process started, she'd silently wonder if there was some way to push more of her power into Nilo. If it was him siphoning the energy out, she could force more out than he originally wanted to get, but she didn't know what would happen.

Regardless of her silent musings, the process had indeed begun and a promise made.

Nilo nodded and placed his arms around her mother. Raina would feel her body get hazy and soon she would feel sleepy. This choice made would potentially upset the natural order of things, but if all else was finished and solved properly with her return, then it would be a risk worth taking. Raina's eyes could stay open for only a few minutes before she saw her son began to flicker less, and his skin returning to fuller color; essentially borrowing Raina's life for the time being. He could feel his strength returning to him, his Persona he now remembered, along with a new power that dwelled within him. "Don't worry, I'll come back for you, I promise. It won't take too long." He said. His body was still forming itself, and where he was was nearby the group that was facing the fake monster. He could choose to go there, or help Angela and the rest with their own issue, the choice was now at least for the time being, his own.

"So... This is what it feels like to die... To loose everything..."

Raina would think weakly to herself as her body seemed to fade in and out of existence. Her eyes felt heavy as if there was nothing left to keep them open. To die was a terrifying thing, even if she willingly gave her life away. She'd weekly hug her son back, a happy smile crossing her face. If she could cry, she would be doing so... But did her body even hold moisture anymore for such a thing? She couldn't tell... She couldn't really feel anything anymore.

Once the act had been done, and Nilo stood away with his body returning to what it had been so long ago. She'd feel as if she was falling. She didn't want to say goodbye yet... But she would. With weak movements, she'd let out faint words that hopefully he'd hear.

"Don't... C-Come back... For... Me..."

With life flushing through him, he'd let out a sigh. He remembered things he had completely forgotten about, and the flush of memories left him silent as his mother spoke her quiet words. He didn't have time to muse over them, though. A decision had to be made and it needed to be made fast. He'd decide what to do later, it honestly wasn't his place to put the lives of so many in danger for a selfish desire.

"Hm... I wish Jack was here..." he'd say with a gentle sigh, a rush of energy boiling through him as he remembered everything they had done together in the short time they knew each other. He'd smile gently, stepping forward towards the group with the only familiar face being Angela. The other group seemed... Fine for the moment. Honestly, it was more a desire to be with someone he remembered rather than strangers.

When Nilo began to approach Angela and the group, she shook her head in disbelief. "Raina! Where did she go?!" She said, only to look ahead at a nearby appendage attempting to strike her, which she dodged barely. Milan and Shani began to strike back at the appendage, with Claire and Eva jumping in, only to be shaken off by it. The limb would retract into the mist near a large spherical shape, only to soon morph into a body in the shadows beyond. A single foot stepped from the murk beyond, and with it, a shape began to take as it pulled itself out. The group joined together nearby Nilo, and Angela herself gave him an almost anxious look, slowly turning upwards in a confident smile. "Alrighty. Explain later, you gotta hit the ground running ok?"
