| The festival was still going on for a little while and, despite Shun not being quite sure when it would end, he was glad there was still enough time for enjoyment. One could always say meeting at the festival was becoming an old joke that already ran its course, and they wouldn't be any more wrong, simply because there's always a new attraction and a new setting to be found.
This time he managed to spot a stand he never heard of before, though he had quite some familiarity with the grounds for a while: a gondola tour. Reminiscing of the famous ceremonial tour from Venice, there was just a similar kind of service provided around the local river. Shunnosuke has been to Venice once, albeit it was a work trip, not a relaxing time. Therefore, he didn't get the chance to fully appreciate the city and what was considered the most classical entertainment from it. Tonight was his opportunity, now would Newman appreciate it? He did send the man a message (no, no voice calls yet!) asking to meet him by the festival's river. The details were left out on purpose, however once Newman arrived, should he accept the invitation in first place, he'd found a wooden fancily decorated gondola by the river bank. The boat owner, a middle-aged man with a hat that covered most of his sight, was up by one extremity, holding his oar patiently, often swinging it in the river as if "examining the quality of the waters" for tonight. Shunnosuke sat by the other extremity, crossed legs as he waited, admiring the fickle lights from the fireflies roaming around the boat. Night time by the river was sure a pleasing landscape after a stressing day...

| A few days had gone by since Douglas and Shunnosuke's last meeting, and while things had been going relatively well for the rich businessman, there was something going on that particularly worried him. After last date's little " incident"... Newman hadn't seen nor heard a single sign of Selenus anywhere in the festival. It was to be expected that he would get lost eventually, considering the immense size of the festival, but he hadn't been answering Douglas's calls either. Either the robot wolf was directly avoiding him, or something had happened to him in Douglas's absence. Either scenario placed a sinking feeling in Douglas's stomach. Alas, some time after, however, Douglas recieved a text message from Shun, inviting him to what he could only assume was another date. Douglas thought maybe it would do him good to take his mind off of things and relax with somebody whose company he enjoyed. He knew for a fact that trying to find Selenus while under stress would only produce less than successful results, especially since he's basically designed for stealth & combat. He could only hope what Shun had in mind wasn't anything particularly action-packed, for he didn't know if he could handle it under his current state of mind. But to be fair, action-packed didn't really seem like Shun's preferred type of entertainment. Eventually, Douglas would arrive at the spot indicated in Shun's text message, albeit he arrived a few minutes later than he would've liked to arrive. Shun would notice that, although Newman was as well-dressed as ever, there was a certain... spark to him that was usually there but was now missing. His hair was slightly dishevelled - Not intentionally dishevelled as it usually is, just generally dishevelled - though not to the point of being subject to being called "unkempt". His eyes, usually brimming with excitement at what life would throw his way next, were gloomier than usual, his top eyelids hanging lower than they were used to. Everything else about his appearance was as fancy as ever, but with his keen sense of fashion and appearance, Shun would be likely to notice these small changes. Regardless, Newman was determined to make this date as successful as any. He gave a gentle wave to Shun as he approached the gondola, and chuckled a bit before stepping in himself very cautiously (Fun fact: Newman doesn't have the best balance). He sat opposite to Shun so as to be able to look him in the eyes. "Well, this is certainly fancier than usual. What's the occasion?" | |

| Oddly, he didn't mind waiting for Newman's arrival. Fireflies were enchanting creatures at night, perhaps as much as moths and butterflies could be if given enough attention. He disliked bugs enough, overall, but these? It felt like they were part of the environment, setting up the scenery like living, floating candles for Douglas to enter. His lack of grace to step in the gondola was funny enough to extract a small giggle from his lips. Understandable, Shunnosuke himself felt a bit insecure in his first steps inside the boat, afraid to fall into the river and ruin what he considered a perfect attire. Then again, every attire is perfect because he has just this flawless, albeit daring, sense of fashion, the same that made him realize a few things were off about Newman's overall appearance. No, he wasn't ugly per se, far from that. But something in his face was…unusual in an inexplicable way. As inexplicable as Newman’s decision to sit in the opposite direction. Come on, there was enough room on his side of the boat for them to sit together!
"Do I need a special occasion to want to see you?"
Shunnosuke smiled, deciding to not focus on the fact they were too far apart for his own tastes and gave a light wave sign to the gondola owner, who opted for the silence to not interrupt his clients for the night. The best kind of servant in Shun’s opinion: the one who speaks only the necessary and that is IF addressed to in first place. With a nod, the man hid his face under the shadows provided by his hat and propelled the boat away from the bank, slowly so the couple could get a feel of its rhythmic swing and adjust accordingly. “How was your day?", he asked calmly. Perhaps a better way to achieve the same answer to something that bugged him to the core: did something happen?

| For as out of it as Newman may have been at the moment, Shun's change of immediate mood at his decision to sit opposite to him didn't go unnoticed. Ironically, this same disconcernation that failed to blind Newman to this fact was the same disconcernation that led him to sitting where he chose to sat in the first place. Quickly but steadily, Newman would stand up (squatting a little bit, so as to not lose balance) and shift to the other side of the canoe, sitting neatly beside his date. "Sorry, I guess I'm a little out of it. Hehe." He rubbed the back of his head in light embarassment, then fixed his gaze on the man at his side. "No, I suppose not, but the romantic canoe ride seems a little gung-ho for a third date. I guess it does fit your style though: always avant-garde." The billionaire chuckled earnestly, though his laugh was stifled behind a veil of lack of sleep and conflicted emotions.
"Hm? Oh, it was fine. Well, it could've been better, but I don't wanna bother you with my problems. Tell me about your day."
