| //"I'm tired of playing games with you... Cecilia, I think it's time you witness what is called the power of the Wild Card."// As Shiina knelt on the ground, a large, red summoning circle appeared beneath her feet, with two smaller circles at each of her arms. Running all across the circle were letters depicting phrases like "Memento Mori" and "Oxymoron". Two small Tarot Cards appeared above each of the smaller circles, and the whole thing rose up above the Wild Card's head.
//"Dominion, erase this creature! Jinguu-Tennou, protect our allies!"// With the sound of glass shattering, the two cards disappeared from the field, only to be replaced by Shiina's own natural Persona... and an angelic male figure wielding a book and scale. The Justice Arcana pointed its scale at the enemy, and it promptly shifted to look like a radiant golden bow, from which it fired a single arrow. The Magus Arcana instead stabbed her sword in the ground to send a wave of healing energy over her allies.
//"Cecilia, are you okay?"// Shiina only glanced back to make sure, but the worry in her voice was very evident... Though, that didn't stop her from holding her mouth in nausea from the ailment. Stupid dragon... at least this should be enough to make a dent in it.- Stats:

| Power of... the Wild Card? What did she mean by that? Was that her nickname or something? It would make a pretty cool one, but the way Shiina said that implied it was something more than a mere title. So what could she be talking about? The questions continued to pop up throughout her mind and she tried her best to ignore them and focus on the mission at hand. This night was about proving herself, not studying semantics. Propping herself up with a soulbound shield, Cecilia would focus her eyes on Pestilence, only to suddenly find them drawn back to Shiina as she caught a glimpse of the luminescent summoning circles. And what she saw next was... ...She was using two. Not only was she wielding multiple, but she was wielding them at the same time. That was the power she was talking about or, at least, a part of it. As someone who had only just started using one and who had never heard of this 'Wild Card' concept, Cecilia couldn't help but stare in wonder and shock at the Tsurinai's demonstration. This wasn't one of the queen's children doing this -- no. It was just a normal recruit, though after that the "normal" part was certainly debatable. It was an awe-inspiring sight and one that caused Cecilia's jaw to drop to the floor. She was clearly amazed, but there was another emotion hidden away in her glowing yellow eyes. "..."There was envy. | |

| //"Phew... the enemy has been annihilated, and with plenty of time to spare. Good work, everyone."// Dominion aided in Shiina's ascent back to her feet, with his User letting out a sharp sigh of relief. The Tsurinai casually threw her Soulbound knife up into the air, only for it to vanish into the darkness of the night. Despite the tribulations, there was a satisfied smile on her face, even if she was, ah... exhausted from using such a power move. The Power of the Wild Card, to this Cadet, was a way for her to prove herself to herself. However, she was but an aide in this battle, nothing else, so maybe such exertion was out of line...
//"Cecilia, how are you feeling? I could tell from these examples that your power doesn't seem to be quite like ours, at least in usage."// Shiina took a few steps towards the newest Cadet, then crossed her arms. //"A shield, and an uncanny ability to restore our fatigue... hmhmhm... I haven't seen someone like you yet; how interesting..."// The Magus didn't seem to hold back her intrigue over this newfound yet very useful ally. The ability to balance their forces perfectly was something she desired, and this person... would fit in very well with their group.
...such may be the case, but Shiina was completely oblivious to Cecilia's expression due to that, missing that envious gaze entirely.
//"Sir, what is your judgment?"// The Tsurinai turned to her superior. //"Can we deem this a success?"// She was certain it would be.

| "..." It wasn't like Maria wasn't familiar with the idea that Shiina was able to use more than one Persona. When they were chasing after Alice, the Wild Card was able to reveal her ability to use another. But this was the first time to see her use both at the same time and have a different one too. For her, it was definitely a reason to be envious. It was as if she had drawn a lucky ticket to power. A kind of talent that made Maria feel more deeply about her lack of. But she didn't care. These feelings are to be purged, as the Church have pounded and scarred into her brain time and time again. The Cadet allowed Andraste to lean against her shoulder as she stoically stood there, watching her superior to give his next orders to carry out. | |

| Once the beast had fallen, and the dust settled, a slow clap broke the silence, as Julius stood up, with a genuine smile of satisfaction on his face. "Now that I consider a flying success. Sure, you could've handled the demon a little bit better, but your display of teamwork and tenacity in the face of death was remarkable. Shiina, could you escort our new recruit home? I'm sure she's quite exhausted after her recent awakening. Maria... you can join them if you wish, but other than that, you're dismissed.""I expect to see you all back here tomorrow morning for some work. Oh, and Cecilia, congratulations. You've earned your rank as a cadet with flying colors. I'll make sure to tell the queen about your bravery and dedication." And with that, they were all dismissed, and once the door finally closed behind the 3 recruits, a rather pleased Julius would send a message to the queen about their success... Things were looking up, especially with such a potent medical support jpining their ranks. | |

| They felt empty. The compliments and praises showered upon her meant nothing after the Wild Card's display. Hearing Julius say he'd tell the queen about her made her smile a little, but even it was rendered hollow by thoughts of what he'd have to say about Shiina. It was disheartening, but at least she could take some joy in knowing that she had been of use. That was what she wanted, after all, wasn't it? So with a small, formal grin born of contradiction, she would nod to the Wild Card and the prince. "Thank you for your concern, but I'm feeling alright. A bit nauseous, but it should subside soon. I can make it home on my own." There was no way in hell she was going to rely on one of them for something as minor as that. Well-intentioned though it may have been, his suggestion mocked and belittled her; it spat upon her dignity. To suggest that she, a Cadet, couldn't even make it home without the assistance of others... It wasn't that she was mad at him. She couldn't get angry at one of the queen's children. Rather, it was more that she was mad at herself. Cecilia wanted to be the one others relied on, not the other way around. Shiina and Maria had done enough work tonight. She wasn't going to trouble them any further. "It was a pleasure working with you all. I look forward to seeing you again tomorrow. Until then, farewell." With a flourish the girl spun around to face the door and marched out without hesitance leaving the three alone. A lingering headache remained within her mind as she continued through the halls of the school and her eyes flickered rapidly between the color of her violet contact lenses and that of an ethereal yellow glow. "...you will break.""There is no way you can surpass your peers. But you will try and you will break." "...Shut it, cyclops." She stormed out through the exit and into the cold, unforgiving night. Tomorrow she'd meet up with them, as ordered, but tonight she needed some time to herself. | |

| //"Mmn..."// Shiina's smile faded upon hearing Cecilia's comments. Feeling alright? For some reason, she couldn't quite believe that. However, she knew exactly what it felt like to have your pride challenged. So, instead of pushing forward, the Wild Card smirked, and nodded solemnly.
//"Alright, I suppose I have no objections to that. I'm sorry, sir, but I think I won't be able to accomplish that task. Cecilia, have a good night's rest, and I WILL see you here tomorrow..."// For a split second, it was as if the Cadet's eyes turned a bright golden color, and the splitting red of her Tainted Persona's mask pierced into the new recruit's soul. Even if Jingu wanted to come out and praise this person on standing up for herself, Shiina felt that something like that would only be insulting.
//"Maria, it's time for us to head home as well."// She continued only after Cecilia left. //"We have a long week ahead of us."// The Magus smiled, happy to have found another piece to add to her own puzzling objective, and began to walk out of the room after a respectful bow to the Prince and Maria.

| "..." On one hand, they were able to defeat the demons and gain an important ally with a role that was indispensable. But on the other, they still had room for improvement. Maria was used to hearing this by now. And they were well on their way to become stronger and reliable Cadets. It was only a matter of time and they were young after all. The new recruit seemed to have something in mind, but it was probably inconsequential. With her Demon Weapon back inside her coffin and the habit back on her person, she was starting to get ready to leave. Everyone involved decided to call it a night. "Morning it is. We shall see you there, Shiina," Maria replied with a nod as she finally shouldered her load. After the Wild Card made her exit, it was only when Maria turned to the Prince to bow in farewell and make her own departure. | |
