| It has come to my attention that a lot of people don't really like the word count requirement for the work threads. While it's understandable that most people aren't exactly too keen to write a shitload for just 5k VC and that some people on staff are okay with it, I think I have a middle ground that might appease both sides.
What I propose is that work should be tiered and the amount of VC each thread gives is randomized. Now before you begin goring me with your pitchforks, I also propose that you can also write out the thread so as to guarantee you can get "X" amount of VC despite the randomizer screwing you over.
So here's what I had in mind:
Tier 1 work? Beginning tier. 100 to 1000 VC. Randomize between 1 to 10. 1 for 100. 10 for 1000. Want to insure you can get the higher end? Write more. If you write 300 words, you will ensure you get 300 VC at the least and if the randomizer is able to get something much higher, you can get that instead of how much you wrote.
Tier 2, 1000 to 2000 VC. Or so on. *Same rules apply here. Requires 20 work threads before ranking up. Relevant SQ rank of 2 required.
Tier 3, 2000 to 3000 VC. *Same rules apply here. Requires 20 more work threads before ranking up. Relevant SQ rank of 3 required.
Tier 4, 3000 to 4000 VC. *Same rules apply here. Requires 20 work threads before ranking up. Relevant SQ rank of 4 required.
Any suggestions and comments are welcome. Now you may split me open with your vitriolic fury. | |

| A requirement of 20 threads per rank up seems like way too much imo. Even if you dedicated all three of your day slots to it each day until you got the rank-up, you'd have to go through around six-and-a-half day cycles before you could even reach tier 2. I don't know how many in-game days Endymion is supposed to last nor how many will lack events, but I seriously doubt people'll have the time to do twenty work threads, let alone the sixty total required to reach rank 4. | |

| Then probably we could set up the requirement in a way that only the relevant SQ ranks apply if needed. | |

| The idea of SQ influencing the money you get and working to get more money when you can just post at the get go seems a little off to me outside of actual SQ events. If people don't like it they don't have to post that high of a word count. They also don't have to do it in a single post, they can do it throughout their Time of Day, on top of getting other players to help them. 5000 Vc DOES add up, and given that they can do this each time of Day, it doesn't seem like it's THAT big of a chore. | |
