Tatum Waldie
Just a little friendly mischief-maker!

The Biography

Birth Name:  Tatum Waldie
Aliases: Tats, Waldo, Mischief-maker (A name she'll try to spread while in her Psyche Terrorist persona)
Gender:  Female
Age:  10
Birth Day:  June 10
Arcana: Star
Place of Residence: School Dorms
Evoker: Mental Shackles
Academy Semester: First year Student.
Class: 13-A

Sorority:  Not yet, may change in the future.

Part/Full Time Job: Student/Allowance (Pay based on effort put in her school(Tatum's point of view)/pay given t her from her parents (Parents point of view work thread))

Appearance: She stands at four feet tall, admittedly short and out of place whenever she is out and about.  A natural red head, she likes to let her hair dangle in curls just below her ears.  Her skin color is dark brown and her body is covered in freckles from top to bottom.  Her blue eyes are usually wide and filled with a playful optimism.  She's usually seen with a grin on her face.  She loves blue colors and she'll get away with wearing them when she can.  Usually, this is in the form of a blue jacket over a white t-shirt.  The jacket has a high collar, which she likes to zip up to mask her face from time to time.  She is frequently seen wearing blue jean shorts over her black tights.  She favors her black and white sneakers.  She wears a sports watch on her left hand.

Alternate Appearance:  The appearance wouldn't look out of place in a sentai-hero styled show.  The mask resembles a dark blue helmet with a black visor and a dark grey mouth guard.  A golden diamond is place on the forehead of the helmet.  The sides of the helmet have dark grey circles where the ears would be.  A thin white line starts from the diamond an travels all the way to the back of the helmet, ending where the back of the neck would be.  She trades in her jacket and t-shirt in favor of a dark blue jump suit.  A golden diamond appears in the middle of the chest area, with a white line appearing from the diamond in four directions.  The top and bottom lines end at the neck base and the belt line, respectively, while the left and right lines wrap around and meet at the back.  White lines travel from the shoulders to the base of the gloves.  They also travel from the sides of the hips to the base of her boots.  Main body of the suit is mostly dark blue, where as the gloves and boots are black.  She wears a dark blue scarf that hangs down her back, touching the base of said back.

Personality: She has two different personalities that she wears based on the situation.  For her normal, day to day life, she wears the persona of the good little child.  She is polite, obedient, and does little to stand out at first.  She pays attention in class, does her homework, and follows curfew, just like every good little child should.  Admittedly, she is very frustrated with this style of life.  She wants to be able o be free, to play and get into shenanigans like she used to in the past.  However, she restrains herself for the sake of her parents, as she understands that good behavior leads to a happier life.  Sadly, this life style of always restraining herself and trying to be the good child for her parents has lead to a lot of self doubt.  She wonders if she is ever allowed to be herself, and frequently worries about what would happen if she lets go of herself even a little bit.  This leads to a shy and reclusive life style, ignoring friends in favor of pouring her everything into her work.  She hates her room but tolerates it as best as she can.  She avoids it as best as she can, but she sees it as a prison.  It seems to have created a feeling of claustrophobia in her.

When she manages to obscure her identity, however, she is a completely different person.  Fun loving, energetic, incredibly silly and goofy, and over-all very mischievous, a disguised Tatum is a Tatum out to play.  She is friendly, curious about the world, and loves to meet people wherever she goes.  Behind a mask, she is incredibly social, and loves to hear what other people have to say.  She especially enjoys getting to see other people get passionate about the things they love, perhaps as an outlet for not letting herself get too passionate.  Most of all, behind a mask, she enjoys running.  Running at full speeds, climbing things, using her environment to push herself forward, she loves the feel of the wind in her hair.  To her, this kind of experience is the very definition of running free.

Regardless of what persona she wears in public, it can not be argued that she puts others before herself.  If she feels it is in her power, she will reach out to help someone, even if it happens to inconvenience her.

The Background

History:  For much of her life, Tatum was a happy and free spirited child.  She loved her parents equally, enjoyed her play time, and generally enjoyed her time growing up.  The same could not be said of her parents, however.  The stresses of life was getting to them, from trying to pay off their dept to trying to keep their bills payed.  It didn't help that their jobs were mediocre at best.  The father was nothing more but a mall security cop, where as the mother worked in a business office at one of the lower end paying jobs of the business.  They got enough keep themselves fed and keep their daughter cared for, but it was never enough for their dept, especially with the bills eating up most of the money.

One day, Tatum's mother received an opportunity she couldn't refuse.  There was a business recruiter looking for willing applicants.  The job description was in advertising and advertising research, something the mother was hoping to one day be a part of.  She jumped on the opportunity to apply, and as luck would have it, she was accepted.  This was the turning point that changed everything for Tatum.

Before she knew it, Tatum's family had moved to Endymion.  The pay turned out to be good, but the cost was losing a lot of time to spend with her family.  At least Tatum was able to see her mother on occasion, and she still had her father.  That was until her mother discovered that her fathers experience as a security guard was well suited for the building she worked in.  Pulling some strings and doing some favors for some very important people, she managed to get her husband a job working security.  Again, the pay turned out to be much more lucrative, especially with the both of them working.  Unfortunately, it also meant that even Tatum's father was not likely home very often.  This basically meant she was left alone.

Of course, with both parents constantly working, they knew they couldn't just leave her to live by herself.  They needed to make some accommodations to make sure that Tatum was safe and taken care of.  Enter Endymion's school system and the school board.  For as long as they do their work well, and for as long as Tatum does well and behaves, she would be allowed to live for free at the school dormitories, where it was promised she would be kept safe and secure.

By this point, eight year old Tatum simply obliged.  She didn't want to get in her parents way, especially when she understood that this was apparently supposed to be a good thing.  But she didn't like what she had to give up in the process.  She almost never sees her parents anymore.  She has “scheduled” phone calls, where she spoke to either of her parents for a short amount of time before they went back to work.  She has tried to make friends to pass the time, but she quickly discovered that if she was going to do well, she needed to put more focus on her work.  It wasn't so bad, really.  If she worked hard, she would surely get a good position in Endymion society when she grew up, right?  But as she continued to work, there were somethings that seemed to bother her.

For instance, was was it always so important that she put her performance above all else.  Was she on some kind of scholarship program?  And what of her parents?  According to the phone calls, they usually are so tired that they end up falling asleep when they get back.  Her dad is feeling as lonely as she is, but he seems convinced that with enough hard work, they can eventually climb up to a point where they can be more comfortable.  But as far as she knew, they hardly even have time for themselves.  Did any of this seem right?

One day, at age nine, she ended up with a very bold thought.  She finished her work early, so she could indeed do extra study work to gain extra credit.  Or... she could use the free time she had to explore Endymion.  Surely a lot of other students were allowed to, so why not her?  She had an allowance that she rarely got to spend due to her own imposed responsibilities, so why not splurge a little?  Thus, on her first outing in Endymion, she bought herself a new outfit, a jacket with some shorts, tights, and shoes.  This became her new identity, a new mask to help her escape from her prison she called home.  She took to exploring the city, trying to find as many interesting things as she could.

And boy did she find a lot.  The most interesting of things were always the back alleys, not for their content but simply because of how using them could help her get to other places more easily.  This started a hobby for her, trying to find the fastest route to anywhere.  She made a game of it, running at top speed and trying to see how soon she could get from point A to point B.  As she dedicated herself to this and to exploring more of Endymion, she got better and better.  She developed quite nicely, or at least she developed as nicely as a self taught child could get in one year.  It made for convenient travel when she wanted to be unnoticed, and she found that she was always able to get back home before curfew as she continued to develop this new hobby of hers.

The city was fun and seemingly full of life for her, and she couldn't wait to see what would turn up each and every day.  Even so, she couldn't stop thinking about her predicament.  As much fun as she was having sneaking off on her free time, why did it always feel as though she was doing something wrong?  Why did it always feel like she shouldn't be out, and that she should just go back to work?  Why did it always feel as though the set up of her new life was just unfair?

The most important question she found herself asking, however, was if she should give in to her worries, or if she should try to make the most of her life while she still could?

Nice job! There are just two things you need to change. No dual-wielding without a strength, and give me the length of your soulbound weapon. Once that's done, you're approved.

I tried to make corrections as you pointed out. ^.^; If the duel wielding thing still doesn't work, I'll just write that out. I also hope that the length I gave is acceptable. I considered having it be longer than that, but I wasn't sure if that would make sense for a ten year old to be able to wield six foot long yo-yos. Otherwise, I hope this works out better.

You need a combat weakness that balances out the Dual Wielding Strength. And with Social Links, we don't go by a point system. We who grade the Social Link threads read through them, and determine if the thread caused progression or not. Naturally, it gets harder at the higher ranks. The length is fine on the weapons.

Hrm... a 50% drop is a lot. And the stat we use for Soulbound Damage is Dex, not Strength. You can make the decrease a bit lower than that. But just so you know, the weakness doesn't have to be directly related to your strength. As an example, you can excel at using your soulbound, but your aim with guns becomes worse as a result. You get me?

I suppose that makes sense. Considering what you said, I tried to think of other things that could take a hit in effectiveness, but sleepy headedness pretty much made me just go with the example that you stated. Would this be considered "third times a charm?" o.o; Or did I already missed that mark somehow?

Here is the original post for comparison.

PostSubject: Re: Tatum Waldie Persona-User   Tatum Waldie Persona-User EmptyMon Oct 10, 2016 1:48 pm

Philemon gave me the okay to use Tatum's parents as her job since they give her an allowance. Basically, the idea is that the work threads are from her parents point of view. o.o My other plan, which I believe I was also given the okay for, is to say that Student is her job and how much effort she puts into her school studies determines how much of an allowance they give her. I'd like to use the two as a mix in order to do world building from Tatum's family's point of view, if that's alright.

Also taking this opportunity to write what class she in if there is no objections.

Here is the original.

The Biography

Birth Name:  Tatum Waldie

Age:  10
Birth Day:  June 10

Place of Residence: School Dorms
Evoker: Mental Shackles
Academy Semester: First year Student.
Class: (We'll fill this in once you're approved. This will be your class in school)

Sorority:  Not yet, may change in the future.

Part/Full Time Job: N/A

I just realized that the gender thing that I wrote for her is considerably useless, since I'm not even invoking nor enforcing it, so I'm just deleting that part and leaving it as female. Also went ahead and took this opportunity to shorten the title.

Edits made.
