| Yui Ishikawa"Ain't nobody gonna hold me back! I'll carve my own path in life brick by brick if I gotta!"
The Biography
|
Birth Name: Yui Ishikawa Aliases:Yu, Princess Gender: Female Age: 15 Birth Day: May 14th Arcana: Strength Place of Residence: Vista Square Evoker: Mental Shackles Academy Semester: First Year Class: (We'll fill this in once you're approved. This will be your class in school) Sorority: Martial Arts Club Part/Full Time Job: N/A
Appearance: Yui has a toned physique and stands much taller than most girls her age, coming in at five feet five inches. She likes to wear looser clothes that give her more freedom of movement, that also tend to hide her physique. She weighs 142lb due to her slightly more muscular build and typically hides in under looser clothes. She has black hair that comes down to her neck with a single red streak through her bangs. Her normal, casual outfit consists of a white and blue jacket over a white button up shirt with a red ribbon tied around the collar, a blue, pleated skirt, and a white pair of sneakers.
- Spoiler:
Alternate Appearance: Upon dawning her Mask, Yui takes on the visage of a more stereotypical delinquent. She wears a typical sailor uniform with light blue and white as its color scheme underneath a heavily contrasting black and sparkling red blazer. The coat itself hangs over her shoulders and is held on to her by two, golden chains that connect to either side of the blazer and has two large, red, protruding spikes on either of her shoulders. She also dawns a large black hat, with a golden crescent present on the center of her forehead.
- Spoiler:
As for the part that would do anything to actually aide in hiding her identity, when taking on this visage, a mask forms over Yui's mouth, similar to a reusable, stylized mask meant to keep one's self from getting other people sick when they themselves were but still needed to go out. It's simply black with white, spiked teeth designed in the center to give it a sense of flair.
- Spoiler:
Personality: Yui can come off as reserved, having felt the need to stop others from getting involved with her in recent times. Having come to the realization that others can suffer consequences as a result of her actions, she's decided to minimize the chance of dragging others down by closing herself off from others. This desire to seclude herself often conflicts with her desire to atone for what she's done and try to better herself. She likes to go out of her way to help others, but her intentions can often be lost when she usually proceeds to try and distance herself from the other person.
She thinks of herself as a burden on others and treats that idea as fact. In attempting to make herself less of a burden, she'll sometimes take the blame for other people's mistakes, provide them with excuses that usually end up pointing a finger towards her. She was already considered a delinquent by many, why not put that to some sort of use?

The Potential
|
Strengths:
—Strength Name: Knuckle-Dusted —Description: Yui was always causing trouble and always giving people a reason to throw a punch or two her way. As a result, she was no stranger to fighting, and eventually got used to toughing out a fight long enough to get her own hits in. As a result, Yui takes 15% less Strike Damage.
—Strength Name: Knuckle-Duster —Description: Taking a beating is one thing, but in a brawl, you'll never win if you can't get a good hit in. Yui may not have much knowledge of practical martial arts of anything of the like, but she's at least learned where to hit and how to hit hard. Yui gains a 15% bonus to her Dexterity Stat.
—Strength Name: The Ol' One-Two —Description: Hitting often can be just as important as hitting hard, and Yui's learned this through experience. If the opportunity arises that she's able to get a hit in, why not maximize it? She developed a bit of a boxing style when it comes to fighting, relying on primarily punches and jabs more than desperately trying to land a haymaker. Yui can hit twice with her Soul Bound weapon in a single post.
—Strength Name: Sheer, Dumb Luck —Description: If Yui were to say she's gone this long to only now have her actions come back to bite her, she'd be lying. A little bit of dumb luck is needed to get as far as she had, even if it did run out eventually. Yui gains a 15% bonus to her Luck Stat
—Strength Name: Determination —Description: Though maybe unfounded at times, Yui has always been a bit more daring than others around her. She liked to take initiative and stuck to her ground when it came to her morals and ideals. While she's stepped off the gas so to speak in that regard in recent time, she's still retained that willingness to step forward and a refusal to be held back by nearly anything. Yui's Courage starts out at Rank 2.
-----
—Floating Strength Name: —Description:
Weaknesses:
—Weakness Name: Short Tempered —Description: Yui is very quick and very easy to anger. Whether it's from a somewhat justified reason, or someone just trying to get a rise out of her, she's always been easy to get to. Yui is 15% more susceptible to the Rage ailment.
—Weakness Name: Magically Disinclined —Description: Even with the general public being somewhat aware of the existence of the supernatural, Yui's knowledge of it has always fallen behind even their grasp. One who knows not of what's to come cannot prepare for it, and as a result, Yui takes 15% more damage from Elemental and Mutated Skills.
—Weakness Name: Sailor's Mouth —Description: Yui doesn't have a way with words. She's blunt, she's ineloquent, and can't seem to deliver what she wants to say in a pleasing way most of the time. As a result, Yui must obtain double the normal amount of experience before reaching Rank 2 Expression
—Weakness Name: Narcolepsy —Description: Yui's always had difficulty maintaining a healthy sleep schedule. She's prone to suddenly falling asleep in class, the bus, and even while eating. She frequently feels fatigued shortly after resting and can't fall asleep for more than a few hours unless she takes sleeping pills. Yui is 15% more susceptible to the Sleep Ailment.
—Weakness Name: Magically Unattuned —Description: Being unknowledgeable about the supernatural, Yui is just as unable to attune herself towards just as she's more susceptible to its harmful effects. Yui's Pmstr is decreased by 15%

The Background
|
History: For as long as she can remember, Yui has almost always been a sort of rebel without a cause. At a young age, she made a group of friends out of the simple desire to act out. Kids doing things they're told not to isn't all too uncommon, but this behavior continued for years. Their stunts went from simple acts of petty spite against authority figures (Teachers, Parents, etc,), to getting into fistfights with people who crossed them in the slightest. They essentially isolated themselves and created an echo-chamber amongst each other to only solidify that what they were doing was just fine, that nothing about themselves needed to change. They were convinced they were a group of well-needed rebels, and not kids acting out for the sake of doing so. They had even begun to call themselves a gang. They deemed themselves The Royals and gave each other nicknames fitting the theme, Yui ending up as Princess and being given the role as leader.
It wasn't long however until Yui's behavior caught up to her. She was treading thin ice with her school for a long while and all it took was for one fistfight to break out on the property to finally expel her. She was fairly calm when she was told that she'd be expelled. She was expecting it for a while and was genuinely surprised she got to stick around for as long as she did. What hit her like a ton of bricks, however, was finding out that her friends would be expelled along with her. Just as Yui was standing by the exit, her friends weren't far behind. Instigating the girl and the boy while they traded punches were enough for them to get expelled as well. Yui held herself responsible for their expulsion. She didn't really care at the time where her life was going, as long as she was convinced she was swimming against the current, she was content, but dragging her friends down with her was something she neither wanted nor anticipated.
It was only then that the girl seemed to realize what kind of an effect her actions had on others. She and her parents would have to find a new school for her to go to, her friends would have to find their own as well. She began to isolate herself both at home and with her friends. Even when her companions would notice her new attitude and behavior and go out of their way to tell her that they didn't blame her or that it wasn't her fault to begin with, she'd agree with them at the moment to try and quell their worried, but wouldn't be convinced nonetheless. For once, the consequences of her actions and how they affected the ones she cared for. She closed herself off from others more and more until she and her friends drifted apart.
Her home life became awkward, to say the least, her interactions and shortened exchanges with her parents felt like they happened out of obligation more than anything. Their continued care for her felt begrudged. Whether this was her projecting feelings on to her parents, or their genuine relationship, wasn't clear, but paranoia filled the girl nonetheless. They'd manage to find Yui a new school willing to accept her despite her background. She was still conflicted on what to do with herself, however. She needed to change. Something needed to change, and she didn't see her surroundings doing that just to bend to her will and make things convenient for her. She'd try to atone for the things she did, be useful to others instead of some burden shackled to their ankle. She'd try and make herself useful to society as a whole, to at least even out the damage she had done as a brat.

| Just a few things.
Your Double Dex Strength doesn't need to be limited to PVS only.
You have a 10% Magic Weakness to counter a 15% Physical Strength. They both need to be 15%.
As for Heavy Sleeper, and Don't Bother, trade-offs this severe aren't really needed for stat boosts. You could just take dips in other stats. | |

| Just to be clear, for your Knuckle Dusted Strength do you mean to say Soulbound and Physical attacks? As is your Strength is only going to reduce damage against Dex attacks and give you more resilience against actual physical weapons like getting brained with a baseball bat.
I can approve this but it might be a bit on the weaker side if you mean the other way. I'm gonna need a post here from you saying this is what you mean and I can go ahead and approve your character. | |
