Welcome to Persona :: New Arcana! A Persona RPG site!
Welcome to New Arcana!
Welcome, Welcome! You've probably guessed by now, but this is a text-based Persona RPG site for Atlus fans, by Atlus fans. If you're new to Shin Megami Tensei, this place can still be for you, so no need to dash towards the doors! Your first stop should be the introduction board so we can introduce ourselves. Then right after that, feel free to go through our vital information to get a good feel of the site. We hope you enjoy your stay, and if you have any questions don't hesitate to post them here. Ciao!
Shin Megami Tensei and Persona belong to ATLUS. We own nothing, and have simply used their data to create a world of our own. They are the true geniuses behind the scenes.
They flew threw stars, a similar sensation like before, only this time, they would be seen less and less as their bodies were taken and moved. Soon, there would be nothing but blackness. For a while, everything was silent, the two were floating in a space and time was almost immemorial to them. Soon however, they felt as though the world around them cracked like glass, and the next time they blinked, Azami and Nozomi would be standing on a white floor, that looked cut and ripped from a familiar white room from before. Around them there was no walls, only the void.
The two had been going for some time, yet they did not exactly realize why. Surely they knew that their respective areas had to be helped, but there were far too many questions. The both of them would feel their strength lacking. Nozomi would have no such powers that he had during his fight with Dio, and Azami felt unchanged before her attempt to fight back. All they could see was each other on either side of the room, and a building black miasma that covered the ground that felt familiar to the both of them. They recognized it as the black presence that had been granting them their powers by forcing them off of each other. But what was it? Should they venture towards it? Should they try to take it from one another? As they stood there, the hole looked to be the size of a small ball, but it had slowly grown to the size of a beachball, and it slowly grew beyond that. If they simply stood there, would something happen?
Azami

There they were again; the cosmos danced brilliantly all around her as she found herself falling through them yet again. The bright glimmer of stars contrasted against the endless black abyss they rested in and their sudden glare nearly blinded the woman's shock-filled eyes. One second Azami had been standing in Lunapa, Shunnosuke staring at her with an odd look on his face, and the next she found herself spiraling downward toward an unfamiliar destination. It was much like the dream that had marked the start of this bizarre Journey of hers; the one which had led to the acquisition of her power in the first place. A brief feeling of déjà vu struck her and she swiftly reached her hand up toward the vast horizon above her before letting it fall to the side. The sound of shattering glass pierced her ears and she winced instinctively in response only to find that, when her eyes opened once more, the shimmering galaxy surrounding her was gone.
Now there was a void. The endless cosmos had been replaced by an endless white -- a void that encompassed everything but the ground underneath her. At first glance it appeared there was nothing and no one except her. Confusion and dread filled the exhausted girl as she stared out into the vast nothing while clutching her chest. It was only upon spinning around that her gaze caught the remaining details of the scene. That blue-haired boy she had been encountering so much, Nozomi Kichida, stood at the opposite end of the room as her. It seemed they were meeting once again. But why now? Why now all of all times? An annoyed expression crossed her face though it faded quickly upon spotting the other object of interest in the room. A strange black miasma... It should have been unrecognizable, but she could feel it. It was the entity from before or at least something connected to it. Perhaps under normal circumstances she would pause and think about the situation, but any hesitance Azami had was pushed aside by desperation.
Fatigue still plagued her, but that didn't stop her from rushing forward with what little energy she had. She tripped and stumbled all along the way, her body crying out in agony begging her to stop and rest, but she kept going on nonetheless. A will to power drove her forward: a resolve she had within her heart to never be weak again. Nothing else mattered within the heat of the moment. Everything hinged on getting to that entity and getting to it fast. Turning her head up in Nozomi's direction with a pained look spread across her, the woman shouted out to him as loudly as she could. "Stay away!" She cried out over the sound of her feet slamming against the floor. "I need it... I need it..."
And so Azami charged forward toward the unknown. The question was: would her counterpart do the same?
It seemed Nozomi was destined to once again end up somewhere. I had a long post for this, but what happened was my computer became a shitshow. So I'll keep this simple.
At first he was fighting a guy from another video game, and then nozomi suddenly entered somewhere else. Having no idea what just happened! What was going on...
So Nozomi had landed here and noticed quickly azami and the black miasma, his natural perceptiont aking over and taking careful note of the area they were in and especially of azami and the black miasma. The look on her face said it all too well, he was getting this vibe this was clearly something important and that it had to do with his power. If he got that vibe why wouldn't azami have it as well? This potentially would explain why he had his power "taken" from him before too. Right a second Before Azami could kick off, Nozomi would kick off. After all when you attempted to make the motion to run, your own body had to get into stance to actually begin to do it, that and your facial expression would give it away as well.
Nozomi would run torwards the black miasma in order to claim his power back, or whatever the hell was going on. He felt weak, but Nozomi was naturally an athletic guy too and due to this was also faster. He was not a blind idiot as well though, carefully percieving Azami and This miasma as he moved. if anything sudden or unusual happened, the kichida would be ready to change his course and attempt something else. Wait what the hell is going on I think we should stop for a damn second! He wanted her to stop, but it seemed like that wasn't going to be the case. Now it would all be left up to face or whatever the hell was going to happen right now. Yelling that as he ran.
Nozomi had far more of a natural willpower than azami did, and also a potentially greater speed and perception due to his innate strengths. What would happen right now though as they both ran for this black miasma, this source. He was running to get to this entity, and azami was too.
Idk if their even relevant strengths:
—Strength Name:Understanding —Description:Nozomi has met several different kinds of people throughout his life and because of this has learned how to adapt himself to actually speak to them the way they should be. He understands how to relate to peoples problems as well or change up how he acts in order to get a better answer out of them. Acting as a well built shoulder to cry on.This is something however that people can often feel is his genuine concern and is something that has only developed from who he really is, Unlike others who may formulate a similar skill for deception or "perfection"
—Strength Name:The Mentalist —Description:He just knows how to look at you. Paying careful glances to places, people or things around him and carefully placing the pieces of the puzzle together in his mind. Nozomi can analyze situations and the like and come up with a logical solution or conclusion depending on what is in front of him at the time. However Nozomi only pays attention to what's going on at the moment, and sometimes may forget key details from the past.
—Strength Name:Exemplar —Description:Nozomi has worked his way up and as a result. People tend to look torwards him when things are going wrong or theres some kind of Conflict. Nozomi knows how to assert himself in a situation and properly manage people as well in times of stress, etc. Especially given his experience in the prior events of Azores.(LeaderShip)
—Strength Name:Athlete —Description:Nozomi has constantly improved his body to the pinnacle to that a Human can be. Combining his well found resolve,Persistance,Knowledge and actual hard work. His body is the equivalent of an Athletes at the moment. As a result he is also actually pretty fast. (Speed Boost)
—Strength Name:The Will to Live! —Description:Nozomi has a Innate fighting spirit. The Will to Live in his life. In his eyes you can see a Lion nearly. A guy who has the spirit to push on besides difficulty,Hardships and alot of other things. Someone who sets his eyes on the task. People just looking at Nozomi can tell he's a pretty hard working person, and this sometimes with how much focus he genuinely has can actually scare weak minded people.
Of course, Nozomi was simply faster, and would reach it before Azami. When stepping in, Azami would be forced back by a sudden wave of the blackness that was now covering Nozomi. It was rather shocked that Nozomi would want it before Azami; after all she was the one using it the most. But in the end, a part once broken from Nozomi had now joined with him once more, only unlike his prior fighting with Dio, it was far stronger. In fact, it was enough to rob him of his free will, and envelop his mind. Azami could feel her normal strength returning, but that might have been from the sudden overflow of raw power that now covered Nozomi. You see, the being before her was something that used to belong to him, though now separated, it has now returned to its most base form: rage and violence. What part of Nozomi was taken? That could not be answered, but it was apparently a part that could have incredible strength and the ability to make anyone stronger or weaker. Perhaps it was his very will that he felt fading and returning every so often. Regardless, it now had a mind of its own, as it took the broken boy and turned it into their puppet.
Nozomi? looked to Azami with dead vacant eyes as the monster that took hold formed behind him in lieu of his Persona. It grew tendrils from its body to latch onto Nozomi's own, seemingly its own parasitic presence. They both looked at Azami, as strength from her inner heart burst from itself. Whatever shards she had had suddenly grown exponentially at the presence of the beast. Though it was formerly a piece of Nozomi, it was far more attracted to Azami, someone who was far more powerhungry and willing to do the dirtier deeds to finish it. And now, she would need whatever will she had to go up against that same malice. Was this the end for her? Of course not right? She could face him and take him down. Perhaps she could win that strength for herself; but what were the consequences? This battle would be a crossroad into many different routes that could be taken. In which direction they would start in would be decided here and now.
PvP Combat has Begun: Nozomi? is Attacking. Error: Human is Dead, Mismatch...
Before Azami could finish her sentence a dark wave burst forth from Nozomi. It slammed into her pushing against her body and driving her backward with great force; the woman's loose, crimson jacket swaying lightly in place as her feet skid to a stop. For a brief moment her rage swelled up inside her and her eyes glistened with envy, although these feelings would subside almost instantaneously upon seeing the aftermath of Nozomi's success. Where there was a person now stood an empty shell -- a puppet of the power that he... that Azami herself had sought to claim. The being before her was a lifeless creature devoid of any of the qualities that it had once displayed. The woman couldn't claim she knew him well, but she at least knew he was human. Now? Now she wasn't so sure.
The presence and its marionette turned their attention to the woman and it with it came a sense of impending danger. Her heart pounded madly against the walls of her chest and as her power began to return to her she felt her Personae clawing desperately at her psyche. "I guess this was inevitable, huh Nozomi? Didn't expect things to go down quite like this though." She said with a hollow chuckle. Part of her felt a bit of pity for the young man. At least if she fell here she'd die herself. Him though? He was gonna die a pawn of that... thing. Still, she wasn't gonna waste time sobbing over the fate of someone who was practically a stranger. She had more pressing matters to attend to, namely, killing that creature. "I don't know who or what the hell you are, but if you think you can just betray me like that and walk away without a scratch then you're sorely mistaken."
"Time for a lesson in humility! Persona!"
Red Robin appeared behind the woman and let out a deafening screech before swiftly disappearing. At first there wouldn't be any clear, noticeable effect, but soon enough a red glow would wash over the boy's body and it would become clear just what the bird-like Persona had done. Meanwhile Azami would simply stand still keeping her gaze fixated on Nozomi and the being attached to him. Forcing a confident grin onto her face, she'd frantically try to formulate a plan of attack within her mind, although for the time being her enemy and surroundings were naturally her main focus.
The debilitating aura was hardly something to brush off. Simply put, they hardly had a choice but to alleviate it. The strange malevolent entity conjured up a hazy image of a skeleton on a bike before it quickly was enveloped in black, and soon Nozomi?'s debuff would be healed. He would summon his short three foot blade and charge straight towards him, appearing to try to stab him head on. However, he would fake him out, and duck to slash at his leg, attempting to trip her. Not only was the boy faster than her as previously demonstrated, but his "Persona" was faster than her own. If it got heavier and they started to compete in the speed category, there would be confidence in Nozomi?'s ability over Azami's.
Meanwhile, the entity merely watched, as it was building up something. It never took the black void where its face was meant to be off Azami, like it was an experiment waiting to be tested.
As a blade appeared in Nozomi's hands, Azami would instinctively summon her own soulbound shinai in response. The boy charged forward quickly toward her in a demonstration of the speed that had enabled him to reach the entity in the first place. It would be clear to anyone that he had certainly had the advantage in that department and that trying to compete with him in agility as things were would be a fool's errand. That was okay though. All it meant was that she had to even the playing field. Wasting no time, Azami would call upon the power of Persona with remarkable reaction time; her eyes glowing a bright yellow as usual and a familiar pain emerging in the back of her head.
Two Personas would appear at once as Nozomi closed in on her. Red Robin would flash into existence in front of her and a short distance away obscured behind the two would arrive Bhima. A red wave similar to before would wash over Nozomi's body and he would feel his agility begin to fade from him. Meanwhile Red Robin would waste no time and would act simultaneously with Bhima. Pointing his arms forward and making the "finger-gun" gesture with both of his hands, the Persona would fire out two three-foot long beams of light about the size of Nozomi's own weapon. One would fly toward the boy's head and the other toward the head of the entity attached to him, each emitting a bright, blinding light which would more likely than not obscure their vision. Between that, the puppet's sudden decrease in agility, and a short distance between the two due to the decision to charge forward head-on at Azami, it seemed unlikely to the woman that they'd be able to evade or counter the attack. Nevertheless, she couldn't waste any time. Even if the attack landed she doubted it alone would be enough to end the battle. So while all this was going on she would rush to the right in an effort to reclaim some of the distance between them that Nozomi had closed.
Fusion Attack: This fusion attack acts as a combination attack between your initial Persona, and one of the many other Personas under your control. When using this attack, you will combine two skills together to attack in one post. For Example, if you were to use Zio and Agi, the two would be combined together to inflict both Zio and Agi damage. Since it's two skills at once, you'd add the damage from the Zio and the Agi together to get the total damage dealt. Not only this, but you will need to put the cost together aswell, as you're practically using two skills in one post, more or less.
This can only be used once per three separate battles.

Relevant(?) Strengths:
—Strength Name: Logic —Description: Azami has retained her skill in logic. As an amateur practitioner of it, she can more easily piece together the information available to her in order to come to a conclusion about the situation or issue at hand. While she is by no means perfect at this and can end up making mistakes, she's at least somewhat better at it than the average individual.
—Strength Name: Reflexes —Description: Years of kendo have honed Azami's physical reflexes. She's thus quicker to respond to objects or attacks thrown her way. For example, if a box above her head fell down she would most likely be able to shift out of the way and avoid it before it came into impact with her.
—Strength Name: The Masquerade —Description: Though she was rather stoic before and during her time in Azores, Azami has switched out that old mask for a new one in an effort to make necessary social interactions with others easier and, overall, less awkward. She's become skilled at faking displays of emotion and deceiving those around her -- appearing to be a perfectly normal and healthy teenager whenever she so pleases. However fake her smile may be, those around her will rarely notice a thing off about it and assume it to be the genuine thing.
As Azami prepared the counterattack, the mystery figure was well-prepared. The image of the Hell Biker appeared, and instead of it acting as a Persona on its own, it seemed the Figure could now use its strength. It summoned a cocoon of flames to protect both itself and Nozomi from the light attacks. Since it was not the target of the speed buff, it had no such limitations like Nozomi? did. While the debuff did stick this time, Nozomi not only did not finish charging, but summoned the image of Hell Biker again. This time, Azami would feel her energy begin to drain and be sapped into his own. Like before however, even despite the debuff, he was already in hot pursuit, and would still manage to get the slash towards her feet. So unless she was prepared and jumped or otherwise tried to leap over it, she would feel a sting over her knees. Should Azami be successful in evading however, he would retaliate with a quick roll towards her, and this time thrust his blade upward at her chest.
Nozomi's cocoon of flames had successfully shielded him and allowed him to continue his assault. Red Robin would disappear and the boy would roll toward her with a slash. Taking advantage of his slowed agility and her already potent reflexes, Azami would barely manage to jump out of the way of the attack. It was around this time that she noticed the feeling of her energy being sapped from her and would decide to retreat a bit. Running backwards with her eyes on her opponents, the woman would notice a thrust coming toward her chest from the boy's sword. Though she was moving away from it, the edge of the blade would scathe her and leave with it a stinging sensation. Grimacing, Azami would skid to a stop and swing her shinai at the sword's tip in an attempt to knock it out of Nozomi's hands. Simultaneously she would switch her current Persona out and call a new one onto the battlefield.
Garuda would emerge from the depths of her psyche and would materialize behind Nozomi. A wave of speed would wash over both the woman and this new Persona as the attack on the entity's puppet would commence. Swiftly closing what little distance they had between them, the Persona would reach its hand out toward the back of his head and seek to grab hold of it. Should this be successful Nozomi would feel a sharp pain as the bird's tiny, pointy claws would run downward scratching away at his scalp. Meanwhile the bird's other arm would reach out at his left side and seek to grab it as well in the hopes of doing the same to it. As long as the avian managed to grab at least his head, Garuda would additionally attempt to force Nozomi face-first into the ground before disappearing.
Depending on what happened next, Azami's actions would differ. If Nozomi somehow managed to counter or evade all the attacks then she would take a defensive stance and switch her focus from him to the entity. Alternatively, if Garuda landed at least one of the attacks then Azami would continue the assault with a strike from her soulbound. This would be aimed either at the chest if the boy was still standing or the back if he had been slammed to the ground as intended.

—Weakness Name: Physical Strength —Description: Azami is substantially less strong physically than others when it comes to brute force, the ability to lift heavy objects, etc. While she can still do physical labor she wouldn't be of much assistance in lifting heavy boxes or knocking someone out in a fist fight when it comes down to it.
Anyway, to clarify, attack 1 and 2 of Madness Nails are the ones directed at the head. Attack 3 is the one aimed at the side. And Azami's soulbound type is strike. Thought I should make that clear to avoid any sort of confusion on either end.
The attack surely kept them in close range, but Garuda was still slower than the Strange being, who would easily overpower the Persona, catching the attacks in their own strange wrappings, and causing quakes to emanate from them. Of course, the Persona was unaffected. The strange being understood that Azami chose a Persona that easily could stand up to it. So instead, the quakes would take the form of shockwaves, coming off of the back towards Nozomi, who would allow the pushback to force his body more than ten meters away to grant him distance. Meanwhile, his torn Persona would once again heal his debuff. This was slowly turning into a game of tug of war. If Azami kept trying to cut at him, it would only turn into a long arduous battle. The Being seemed to feel similarly. Soon it would have to start fighting harder. The body of Nozomi? seemed to breathe heavily. It was clear that this presence was taxing it. Perhaps it was the weakpoint of its control. If Azami wanted the power of his back, Nozomi should be the target; but could she take him down while dealing with the Monster at the same time? Perhaps she should come up with a strategy, in order to minimize the threat the Being caused...
OoC.:
Just bear in mind since you didn't start with that Persona in the fight you don't get the Auto Masuku.
Dismissing Garuda with a frustrated sigh, the woman would allow Nozomi to withdraw away from her and take the opportunity to get a quick breather. Azami would cautiously study her opponents for a brief moment and ponder over the situation a bit. So far they had been successful at countering any attacks she threw their way, although it seemed that the boy was getting somewhat exhausted. Nevertheless, she wasn't sure she'd consider that progress. He was still unscathed and furthermore the creature controlling him seemed perfectly fine as well. Perhaps it was time to change things up a bit. Quietly refusing to relent, Azami would call upon a new Persona who would appear approximately five meters away from her and continue her assault on the enemy.
Drawing its arms back, the being would lunge forward and strike the air with enough force to create ripples in it. A fourteen meter long wall of piercing force would then fly forward at the puppet and its master appearing as a cluster of long, white lines as though the being had cut through the wind itself. This large web would fly forward at the two while Azami stood watching the scene like a hawk.

OOC Notes:
My bad. Removed the Auto-Masuku from Azami's stats section.
Seeing as how Azami took the initiative, the Being couldn't exactly stand to gain much from staying in this current state. So in response to the attack, the being would retreat behind the body of Nozomi, and allow the shell to take the blow from Azami's attack, as it changed its Persona. Nozomi would suffer from the relentless shots thrust at him, weakening him down. As he would be struck, the void around her began to flicker and make odd noises, as though things were breaking. Even the platform they were on began to rumble. Was the pain delivered to Nozomi connected to the world around them? Perhaps it wasn't wise to continue for the course. Unless it merely referred to the prison that the realm posed for the two.
Either way, Nozomi? would shoot forward, as a sphere distorted by the Being appeared and vanished, Nozomi himself would dash as an arrow, with their arms covered in black wrappings and sharpened to a point where they were almost lances easily triple the size of Nozomi on his right arm and the width of his body, as he ran towards Azami, chasing her should she attempt to dodge in another direction. Nozomi was both faster and had the power of an Arcana on his side, so if they tried to fight back they would have a rough time doing so without a plan. Nozomi would regardless of the circumstance, attempt to impale Azami with his attack. Meanwhile, the Being would be emitting a strange hot liquid around the floor circling Nozomi wherever he moved or landed. It wouldn't take a genius to figure out it was lava, stretching to make a pool of lava around the boy about 20 meters total due to the strength of the attack. It was not meant to harm Azami, but it did heat up the area, and cause the ground to not be a good idea to travel towards if she wanted a final hit on it or the boy.
Erisia | Inflicts a severe amount of damage to a single foe. User can choose the element between Slash, Strike, and Pierce. | 25% HP | Tier 4 - 105 + Strength Arcana = 120 Pierce Damage
Azami felt the ground shake beneath her as the net collided with Nozomi. The world around her seemingly begin to break or at least undergo some damage. Perhaps this room was connected to the boy's life force? Whatever the case, it filled her with a feeling of dread. What would happen if this room crumbled away with her in it? These worries, however, would be pushed to the side as a feeling of déjà vu washed over her. This had... happened before, hadn't it? Back when she first met Nozomi the room she found herself in shattered when she accepted her power. The floor beneath her had collapsed and she had found herself plunging into a black nothing before waking up to the "real" world. If it was like that time then there was no need to worry. Destroying this place would let her return to Azores, right? Besides, what else was she supposed to do? At this point attacking the entity seemed like a waste of time and effort, so that only left her with two options: try and kill Nozomi or give up and let herself get skewered, and there was no way in hell she was gonna opt for the latter.
As Nozomi shot forward and garnered momentum, Multiverse would appear in front of her with its arm extended downwards. Swiftly hopping onto it without a second to waste, Azami would make a last ditch effort to secure victory with her trembling hands. While the boy was lunging forward and the entity was spewing lava onto the ground, the woman would will her Persona to grab onto the floor with all its might. The being would easily be able to rip out a meter long chunk and would fling its arm forward hurling the slab at the lower half of the entity tethered to Nozomi.
Meanwhile Azami, still atop Multiverse's right arm, would use this opportunity to launch herself into the air while the man closed in on her. At this point in time Nozomi would likely have gathered a good amount of momentum on top of his natural speed and he'd probably find it difficult to stop or shift out of the way so suddenly. If things went according to plan then he'd trip over the hole now in front of him and would find his arms plunged into Multiverse; the Persona letting out some garbled cry akin to a pained laugh. The woman, now falling down from the air, would seek to land on Nozomi's back feet first and if successful would apply her full weight to it in the hopes of forcing him to the ground. Assuming all this went as planned, she'd aim three swift thrusts from her soulbound at the back of the boy's head in quick succession.
In this moment Azami, for better or for worse, was akin to a cornered animal.
