The sound of the roaring engine was the first thing to even reach the borders of San Malarus. Rita had elected to scout ahead and make sure absolutely nothing wrong was happening in the way, and report back should there be a threat. Bumblebee made this task infinitely easier, as its three riders now stared up at the huge silvery dome. From this point of view, it didn't even look like San Malarus anymore... though, this all reminded her of so many things from the past. The green star, the Angels... Rita shook her head as she took off her helmet, then helped Mio off the motorcycle as well. She didn't think Lia needed any help, as she should be used to this kind of thing by now.

The coast was clear, the refugees were still pretty far away and Jack was taking care of them... so Rita turned to Lia and Mio.

"Lia, Mio... we did it."

The blonde performer looked up at the moon, and took a deep breath. Tamara went down, but still lived. The demons were gone, and nobody else had to die to accomplish that. It... felt definitely worrying, though. One person had to die for this to happen... a person who used to be a friend. Why did this always happen? Why were these events so cruel? Rita only shed a single tear despite this, and dried her away with her gloves right away. Rin wouldn't want her crying, right...? Yeesh, that sounded like the most cliche thing.

"Hey, Rin... if you're still listening somewhere, we did it the way you wanted. So... pass on without regrets, alright?" She wasn't good at these things, and even when she muttered that, Rita struggled on what to say. Only a single death in that chaotic fight... the entire circus was saved. And now that only the people closest to her were around her, she could let it out.

"I kept my promise to everyone, didn't I, Lia..?" The blonde smiled with puffy eyes, partially from tiredness, but mostly from satisfaction. Whatever transpired next... she kept her promise today, and she'd continue to strive to do that same thing over and over. A beacon of hope for a people... the Azores' First Line of Defense. Rita liked the sound of that, and how it came to her so easily. This was her home, truly, not just these islands, but wherever her family was. They were safe. She was happy... in a sort of bittersweet way.

Lia placed her hands on Rita's shoulders when she started to cry, while Mio ran crashing into Rita's legs to give her a hug. "It was hard. We hurt a lot earlier, but without them, we may not have even lived that long. We could have lost so many times over. I remember how much they tried to keep us standing. And I won't, for a while." Mio tilted her head. "Iunno....I just don't want Mama sad...we need to fix this okay? Together!" The bright child buried her face in Rita's side as Lia planted a kiss on her cheek. They both looked up to the moon as it rose through the evening sky. The first day was done, and though much was lost, they were on their way to something. Lia believed they could fix the place, though it may be damage that can't just be waved away. It'll need a lot of work. Part of her was relieved in a strange way; it meant they had an excuse to stay here longer. But all in all, Azores was the home Lia had for the longest. It became a part of her that she could never let go or give away easily. And now she had even more of a reason, the little blonde haired child that used Rita's hip as a new pillow. All she knew is that she didn't want either of them to be hurt, and she would fight tooth and nail to make sure that never happened.

Rita couldn't help herself from pulling Lia into a hug with one arm, and stroking Mio's back with the other. The performer rested her face on her lover's shoulder, and nodded slowly.

"Of course... you can't be a one-man army in this world, after all, and even if one of us fell... we were all still important." To anyone watching from the outside, Rin's wish may have looked foolish, and Rita admit, she thought so for a while. But killing Tamara would have not only accomplished nothing for them, given that they would gain no new information from her, but it'd also contribute to doing exactly the opposite of a friend's desires. They were all supposed to be in it together, and so what everyone wanted mattered. "You won't have to see her sad, I promise. We'll fix this, all of us." Not just the three of them, of course not, this was about more than just them.

"Let's wait for the others, okay? We can all rest for tonight... even Rin." In some ways, Rita found peace in knowing her friend, who had opposed her before in the conflict between the Angels, didn't have to suffer because of this cruel event any longer... but she worried for her family nonetheless. Hopefully Jack would let her accompany him to deliver her body...

Lia tugged on Rita's body and had her rock back and forth. Mio jumped in an antsy nature as she started to climb up Lia's body, and hang off of her back. Lia was athletic and certainly able, so it felt like nothing to her as she ascended her like a normal mountain. Mio pointed to the stars forming, but more specifically a green star that remained in the sky. "Is that green star going to stay here? I haven't seen it anywhere but on these islands." Lia looked to the star as well, the cracks in her eyes almost illuminated by the green glow; as though a light lay behind them. "I have a strange feeling that star may not be here forever. But it's been here two years, maybe longer." She spoke truthfully without any hyperbole. Mio tilted her head. "But it's green! Like your hair! We should get a gold star too, like Papa's hair!" she said, tugging at Rita's hair. Lia looked to Rita with a grin, but it soon dropped into something contemplative. "What are you going to do tomorrow? Do you think it's a good idea to venture out and fix the mess, or are you gonna stay here? Either way I trust you, but it'll be good to know if you have to call into work tomorrow," she said with a small giggle.

"I dunno if it'll really stay there, but... I suppose it isn't harming anyone, now is it? Maybe it'll make the night sky that much prettier to look at..." Rita was somewhat grasping at straws for positive thoughts, as her worries about the star were greater than her admiration for its appearance. It had stayed for two years now but... it appeared so suddenly, and it couldn't be normal, could it?

The performer twitched a bit at the tug to her hair. If it had been anyone but Mio or Lia, she would have lashed out negatively at the person for messing with it, but since it was her daughter, she simply gave a wry smile. She had obtained this new hair color right when she left the Azores for the first time... so what did it mean?

"I think a silver star would be more fitting..." She mumbled this, but then stroked Mio's own golden hair. Though, she stayed quiet for around half a minute to Lia's question, inside humming as if deep in thought. She didn't really have any doubts in her mind about what to do, just... how to word it. Rita had already come this far, this wasn't the time to be passive, was it? Her decision to get involved and be truthful was what got Rin killed... the worst thing she could do now was take it all back. It would be as if she completely nullified one of the reasons for her dead. Her resolve was the catalyst for this tragedy, after all, what would giving up on it accomplish at this point?

The Sunset C54SKWu

"At this point, there's only one thing I could do, Lia. Let's rest up for now, and tomorrow we'll be right back at it, alright? I fought Tamara because I couldn't let this go now, I'm not about to back away."
