A Late Swim [Bernard}

Gabe just finished his eighth lap around the pool, swimming was his usual workout in order to stay in shape. As usual, he would stick to light weights and some sort of sport to get him going like this. "Phew. " In a pair of tight swimming trunks, gabe took off his cap and goggles and sighed. "Where is my towel?" He wondered this as he reached for the counter that had his glasses. After putting it on, he would walk over to his chair to dry himself off. The pool really did look nice today.

Bernard would hoo, and hoo. As the owl had somhow found himself into the Sunlake Swimming Society. Somehow, of all places, a freaking owl had made his way into the society. As the Owl would stare at everyone observantly, rather confused as to why everybody was swimming around in the water. A bird such as bernadette did not swim,e xcept simply gliding over the water to catch a fish. As much as the owl would love to demonstrate that though. She was not on animal planet.

Surveying the area, she saw Gabe, not reall yremembering him much beyond the fact that he gave her nuts. The Owl Hood and took off at quick speed torwards where Gabe was. Hooing. In under a few seconds, the owl would be to Gabe's left, and upon being noticed would look at Gabe Puzzled.

Hoooooo?

Gabe started to dry himself off but noticed that there was a bird heading his way. "Huh?" Gabe would look at the bird in a questioning tone. "Can it be?" Gabe adjusted his glasses and if the bird allowed him to, he would allow it to land on his towel and looked a little closer to the tag that had its name. Bernard? Hello old chap, it's fancy meeting you here." Gabe would say as he held the owl delicately and with care. "What are you doing here, looking for some fish? I believe you came to the wrong place old friend, i fish at sunlake palms all the time. There are plenty of fish over there, so to be completely honest with you, all you are going to manage finding here is people , no food.

Bernard would hoo happily at being greeted by Gabriel. Rather curious as to why he was wearing this unusual garb and swimming in the water. Hm...So Humans swim in this place for some reason.Then came the case of Bernadette being picked up, how ungentlemanly like of him. Picking up a woman without any consent of hers at that moment. The owl would hoo and flap her wings in his hands right now. Hooing at the prospect of obtaining fish at the moment, but the owl couldn't exactly respond right now in the first place. After all..

They were a fking Owl!

So basically, Gabe couldn't get close enough to catch bernard in order to see the tag, so it could be a different own. 'Oh? So you aren't bernard? But could of swore that you looked exactly like that white owl i met before...." Gabe used his towel to dry himself off once more instead of using it to pick the bird up. " Hmm, though, you can't necessarily stay here, i don't think there is alot of people around who would like to have you around little fella. You might find that a young girls hair extensions remind you of a fish or something. "Hairstyles are in fact crazy. Though, over to the table, there were a small bowl of berries, which Gabe took from in order to give to the bird.

"Here, are you hungry?"

Hoo Hoo. Hoo.The Owl was pretty much the same owl as before, and there was no shaking that off. After all, who the hell owned an owl in the city of endymion. A ruffle of Bernadettes feathers proved she was the same as the previous one anyone. Quickly responding on being called Bernard. Being told she couldn't stay here was a bit annoying. She was so curious to watch the daily Habituals of these humans in their habitat. Just as they were curious enough to watch her confined to a zoo or a cage. mmm....What the hell is a hair extension?The owl would quickly think to herself as she wondered just how exactly was she going to go about this. Would the owl mess with him and attempt to speak or nah.

The Owl would flap over, and move to Gabe's ear, then start to whisper something. In a way nobody else would be able to hear.

SSSSHHHHH... I can talk you know.

Afterwards, the owl would flap back and hoo at Gabe again, eager to eat something.

"...................." What? What just happened? "........." Gabe was practically a statue as he tried to process all of the reasons why Bernard just talked in his head, he didn't move at all, The owl could literally eat the berries right out of his hand. After a while, Gabe would stand back up fter scrunching down. "I think i'm....experiencing what they call...a heatstroke..... so i'm going to sit down..." Gabe would say as he sat down on the beack like chair and rubbed his temples. "He was hearing things, yes, brenard is a simple bird. Bird's cant talk. "Only parrots can mimic voices, i think...i dont know the zoology of owls to assume that they are capable of doing the same. "Gabe mumbled under his breath. " If they arent...i'm going mad?"

Gabe looked back to Brenard, wondering if his constant mumbling was scaring the poor bird. He shouldnt let his insanity affect other people around him.

Bernard would hoo, wondering what the human was confused about. Before flapping her way onto his lap. She would use a skill to identify him, just to make sure she should actually talk to him before anything else.

Skill Used:

Bernard would see the internal potential of the man, and continue to speak. However in a hushed tone nobody else would be able to hear on his lap. Your not having a heat stroke hoo. Your just talking to an adorable owl actually. Bernard would speak further in order to clarify her point to the young man and see what else he would say to the young hoo.

"W-what?" Gabe would say as he lightly touched bernard on his back. "Wow.... i'm... i'm... a horse whisperer? no..they are called dog whisperers... no..." Gabe thought once more. "I'm a bird whisperer... a bit random, but i'll take it.." Gabe would say as he smiled. Even though Bernard was talking, he still thought he was crazy. So in this case, he made an excuse to make it sound alot more sensible to him." Wow, i knew you was special when i first saw you. Even your coat is quite different from the usual brown summer coat that i would see in usual owls. You aren't a demon or ...no.... that's impossible.. because other people can see you." Gabe would say as he continued to carefully pet the bird. "So i guess you are just special... i'm i the only one that knows?" His voice was also quiet. To other people, it looked like a man just playing and talking to his pet. Or a wild animal....

The Owl would hoo, and smack him with its wing playfully in order to get him to relax. Listen Hoo. You ain't shit of a whisperer. I can just talk you know. You have this thing in you...A persona yes?The hoo said while speaking in once more, a low voice only they could hear. To anyone else, she appeared as an owl ruffling her feathers and just hooing around. Then came the matters of how her coat was different. Oh lord, was this how humans really got when they saw something strange an dunfamiliar. Ugh, she really had to watch out for her owner now and made sure that Brit was not involved with any idiots.

Of course I'm special. I'm an adorable white owl, and that makes me a boss ass bitch.She would ruffle her feathers even more and almost pose dramatically on his lap happily. You are not the only one who knows...But the only one of very few who knows...I myself am very confused.

All of this was said very low and slow, making it impossible for anyone to really eavesdrop on this and find out.

He wasn't ready for the odd experiences during the middle of the day, that's all it really was. It made even more sense when the bird mentioned a persona. "Oh, so that explains it. Thats why you can talk. I think personas can do anything. Makes me wonder what my side effect is... "Gabe would say as he whispered to the bird. " wow..that kind of means anyone can do it. "

"He did want to make amends for insulting bernard, he was....wait.."A boss ...what now? I'm not familiar with the slang and lingo of young people... but this has actually come across my mind. Brenard... i don't suppose you ar eof the female gender...correct?" Though, he would be shocked..and it'll be a little unfair. How would he know?!!" Well, i guess there is the mystery... surprisingly.... this happened yesterday night to me...but for a strange reason. How about you?

Hm Hm. Strangely, that occured to me last nigh ttoo Hoo Hoo.The owl would continue it's hooing as it flapped its wings in his lap. Harumph. I doubt you have a side effect Hoo. I guess that means this thing let me talk simply.Bernadette was a rather vulgar, angry little owl. The fact that she was also a very deadly apex predator should not have surprised anyone in her demeanor really. It was amazing why none of the humans she interacted with were ever on guard. Blah blah blah. Listen I'm not a princess Hoo. I don't want this fancy talk. Just pet me.The owl gestured to be pet by Gabe and would greatly appreciate it if she recieved that.

A boss ass...Fuck it. Whatever. I am a female Bird if you didn't notice by how I speak. As for....The night, ironically yesterday night something occured too yes. However that is irrelevant for the time being. She simply would not discuss that for now, and would rather focus on the present.

"oh..uh..Alright..."Gabe would say as he petted the bird. It seems that something a little universal happened last night as well. Though, he wouldn't have too much of a problem about it, they seemed to be in the same boat. She at least told Gabe that he probably didn't have a side effect. Maybe not from that, but a pre existing side effect ever since he met that woman. " So... what now? You are taking this pretty well Bernard. I have yet to figure out what i should do next, or what i should be doing. Call me a bit indecisive if you will. Though, there is somewhere im heading tonight in order to find some answers. I don't suppose you would want to come with me? " Gabe would say in a questioning tone. She didnt have to, but Gabe would appreciate the company.

Hoo, Hoo Hoo, Hoo.The Owl Hood happily as she was pet well in the right way by Gabe. Very rarely did people pet her correctly, so she kind of enjoyed this due to her nature as a house hold pet. Hm depends. I have to make sure my owner doesn't get involved in anything stupid either. I saw she knows a few....Stupid people actually. Mmmmm, Give me a reason to accompany you?She knew he had the same potential she did, but just what on earth was this place was what the owl had wondered about actually. Excuse me simply, but from the dangers I see of just having this thing, I'm not one to take blind risks without any reason I can imagine u know.The owl hood again, flapping her wings excitedly against her body and in general just enjoying herself at the moment. What would Gabe say, she did not know. However the owl was certainly curious as to the response that would be obtained.

Last night, getting... the way i am or what we have wasn't easy. I had to fight.... regular people could of got caught in the crossfire. And.... the "truth" of this city will be revealed or... some sort of prophetic wisdom nonsense that you hear people spew from their mouths mostly. Just to confuse you in my personal opinion. " Gabe would then whisper and then sigh. "Though, your owner... i'm sure that you wouldn't want your owner to be in danger. But, thats exactly why i think you should go. If there is a hidden secret tht can potentially endanger the people you care about, you should go. I mean, the people i are about are long gone, but that isnt the same for you..right?" " Gabe would say, trying to make his point across. "It's up to you, either way.... i'll tell you about it when i can if you don't.
