Absolute Contrast [8D] [Morning]

Selenus had the compromising habit of completely disregarding the fact that he's not exactly a common sight, that's why when he snuck into the Sunlake Swimming Society simply to listen to the sound of flowing water and busy people that he was so fond of he was immediately harassed by young children and curious adults. About an hour after realizing his mistake, he had prepared a makeshift "Out Of Order" sign to place in front of himself once he layed down so people would think he's an unready attraction and leave him alone.

Though most people would agree that the sound of constant chatter and activity was a source of unending stress, it almost calmed Selenus down as much as the water's sound did. It reminded him of the constant activity that went down in his master's house before he was carried away.

Now Selenus peacefully rested a few meters away from the largest pool in the society, watching the peoples enjoy themselves. He wished he could join them without causing an uproar, but being able to see them was joy enough for him.

.... Ya think he's noticed yet?... Nah give it another like... Ten minutes. But we're booooooooooooord! Can we do somethine else now? NO! No we have to stay and keep him company, it's sorta a thing we do. But why? Cus we do! Best not to question it. But why not? Cus we just do! I told you not to question it. Well thanks to you we've been sitting in the same spot staring at the same pool for like five minutes... Can we at least rattle off a few good pool related Puns to help pass the time until he notices? NO! We need to save them for when we start talking to him, after all what good is a pun if no one is around to hear it but ourself. UGH Fiiiiine... But I'm still bored and I know you are to cus we're the same guy. How is this working anyway? How is what working? This talk we're having how is it working. OH uh... Ya see 8D's brain is kinda shit... so sense even he has no idea what he might do next it's really easy for Him/us/I to talk to you/me/us/himself. It's all very scientific and stupid.

8D's inner monologue raged on for quite a while after that... Eventually the two sides of his brain decided to co-operate instead of argue and 8D finaly was able to move again, though after sitting next to a, seemingly, deactivated Selenus for a good half hour did make him a bit stiff. "Pssst... PSSSST... Selenus... what are we looking at?" He would whisper to the dogbot.

"Whoa!" 8D let out an amused shout as the robotic dog's tail wrapped around his neck and shook him violently before bringing him to eye level with the robotic K9. He had to hold back a laugh at the sudden screams and panic that accompanied the act. Not that it was to surprising, how else would you act if the "Out of order" robotic dog attraction suddenly attacked someone  and then started talking... Well first you pull out your cellphone and post it to facebook... But immediately after that you start running though. -Ehehe... here's to hoping they don't call any Cadets... that would be horrible now wouldn't it? Ehehehehe-

"Ehehe... Well in order my robotic brother," 8D began with a smile and cackle "First, I had assumed but I mearly wanted to be sure. I mean that just seems boring if you ask me. Second, I said 'What are we looking at'. I would have thought you heard me properly sense you answered the question with point one but perhaps I was mistaken due to the fact that in point two you asked for a clarification. Third, I would like to say because that lovely picture right below your text has your name on it but sense I can't I'll say we met at the event five years ago, do you not remember? Your master spoke with mine, though at the time I was but a glorified watch so I suppose I can forgive you for not recognizing me. And last but not least Fourth, ya see I would again bring up points one and two to point out that at this point point one and point two should answer point three, point three being pointed at point one and point two as the point where you've asked for clarification point 1 at two separate points in our rather pointed conversation!... See my POINT? ehehehe" 8D cackled and laughed heartily as he brought up his legs and began to swing from the robotic dog's tail.

"Sorry if I startled you though. Let's start over, HI! It's me 8D, do ya remember me from the event five years ago?

Before Selenus could say anything back at 8D, he noticed the huge amount of phones and cameras directed at him.

"Oh, it is a bad time for this."

Not really caring if 8D would stay attached to his tail or not (Though let's face it, he most likely would) Selenus leaped and tail-swung from object to object and from structure to structure until eventually he and 8D found themselves both standing on top of one of the wave-like ceiling decorations the Swimming Society had for some reason or another.



He would say it was fun, if being compromised hadn't been a present risk. At least they were now in a position where no one would be able to photograph them. Selenus turned around and looked at 8D.

"Puberty hit you like a truck." He commented in a snide, snarky tone.

"And it seems you grew a personality! Ehehe." 8D cracked his neck to be sure everything was still in one place after that little ride they took."You know if you wanted to get me alone all ya had to do was ask...Ehehe. Though this dose raise a few key questions. the most pressing being do you think if I took a running jump, could I make it into the hot tub? I mean while yes I would probably break off most of my limbs, I'd look pretty darn cool doin it! Ehehe," 8D laughed and surveyed the area from their new vantage point, looking hard for a man in a red and white stiped hat and shirt.

"The second and far less serious question is what the heck you're doing here watching all these people Poochy," Grin's narrowed his eyes at the dog bot and shot an accusatory glare."You're not some kinda perv right?"

...It was meant as more of a shot at him than as a joke, but... eh. Whatever.

"I didn't come all the way up here just to talk to you. If I become known on popular media, certain activities of mine will be severely hindered. But still... I'm surprised you managed to survive that night. I took you and your created granted for dead."

Selenus's mind raced back to the event that took place five years ago. Most people's lives wereirreversibly changed that day, but his underwent a key change only a year later. That one year in between the Eternal Divide and Newman being arrested was... less than pleasant.

"I'd advice against risking your body for a stunt that people wouldn't have time to record on film. But if you're hellbent on it, then be my guest."

At 8D's final question Selenus became visibly irritated. "I'll have you know I don't posses a sex drive, and if you make a hard drive joke I will hurt you. I simply enjoy the sounds of water and the sounds of crowds. That's all."

Selenus looked down at the now tiny sight of everything else in the swimming society. It hadn't occured to him before, but relaxing here might actually be better than relaxing down there. It was way more aesthetically pleasing, and there was no one around to bother him. Well... almost no-one.
Sele sat down on the edge of the wave-like structure and turned his head to face 8D. He didn't exactly dislike conversation, so he might as well try to make the most of the situation.

"So. What exactly happened to you since we last met?"

"Oh Oh! What kinda activities? Are we talking good activities like crochet? Wait, how do you hold the needles without thumbs? Do you like hold them in your mouth? That must be really hard... Or do you mean bad activities like J-Walking or streaming your anime on a non-licensed site? 8D chuckled slightly and plopped down, shooting the robo pup an amused grin as he folded his legs to sit quote "Criss Cross apple sauce" style, ehehehe.

"I wasn't going to Slelelelele, please that kind of crude humor is so below me. Besides there are so many more I could make, I could make a Ram joke, a SexyTime.Exe joke, a .cum joke,but I won't cus, once again, they are beneath me. Ehehehe." The robot snickered and winked to Selenus before bursting out into an echoing laughter that, against all odds, failed to draw any attention. "As for what I've been up to sense that big party five years ago, I've been running a little bar called 'Grin's Hole In The Wall' over in backlight with my master, his body guard, and Callie, ya know that little girl that petted you right before the demon attack. I've also been traveling a lot, just got back from a year long trip to see the worlds... How about you Dawg, hows it hangen with you? Ehehe"

"We're talking about the kind of activities that don't concern you. Don't take it personally though, I tell that to everyone who asks." AKA No-one prior to this. "All you need to know is that being exposed would ruin them. Although I wouldn't oppose to experimenting with sports, I have too much free time anyway."

Selenus winced internally as 8D laughed aloud, somehow managing not to attract any  attention. He wasn't even going to ask. "It's good to hear the girl is doing well, and I suppose the same can be said about you to some extent. Perhaps I'll drop by and visit you people when I have free time, which will most likely be very soon, to be honest. The last few years have... not been as fortunate for me. Due to unfortunate circumstances, I'm a nomad now." Selenus said "nomad" but the real word he was looking for was "homeless".

"I noticed you're no longer a snarky timepiece. Where'd you get that body from? And again; Reference any Gangnam-born k-pop stars and I'll hurt you."

"OOooooh... You're a super hero. Got it! Don't worry Clark, good old 8D won't tell no one your Superman!" Haha! Superman! You have fell for my cleaver ploy! For you see, I just said a double Negative! That means I WILL tell everyone you're superman! Ahahaha! Once again you have been outwitted by the great 8D! Ehehehe"...Heh... So do you wear a cape and if so what color?"

"Trust me, you don't know the definition of 'Nomad' Ehehe," 8D snickered and layed back crossing his arms behind his head in a vain attempt to get comfortable on this rather awkward perch he found himself on "And while I'm sure Callie would enjoy that I'm not quite sure she'd remember you, she's got the attention span of a hyperactive gnat ehehehe. Though if you do come be sure to order a drink, we are running a business ya know. As for my new body..." 8D shifted to look at and wink to Selenus "Would ya believe I made a wish on a star to become a real boy? ehehe"

"...Yeah, sure. I'm Superman." As long as 8D dropped the questions about his activities, it really didn't matter to Selenus what he thought he did. "But no, I don't wear a cape. That would defeat the purpose of trying to conduct operations that being noticed would ruin, don't you think?"

"I can't consume alcohol, or anything at all for that matter, but I'd be willing to lend aid in some other way. It wouldn't hurt to see if the girl remembers me, either. Besides, I haven't had maintenance in a long time; Perhaps it'd be wise to ask Proffesor J if he could do anything about it, or if he knows anyone who might." Selenus's mind flashed back to earlier that same morning, when his right AP fell off in front of Frogerio. Maintenance was priority number 1 right now.

Selenus shot a glare at 8D after his remark of wishing upon a star. "If it were anyone else I'd take insult at such an idea, but the one saying it being you makes me think that's what actually happened. You seem to defy all laws of reality anyway." There was something about the way 8D behaved... something about the way he did things and some of the things he did themselves that felt completely different from anyone Selenus had seen. Almost like a fourth-wall breaking character in a piece of fiction.

"Oh you're no fun!" 8D blew a raspberry Selenus and turned his nose up. How dare he talk about capes like that. Capes are awesome. 8D even wears a cape!...Sota? It's like a cape or... wait...-No seriously wait, hold on a second what is this purple thing around my shoulders? is it a cape? I think it is, but it goes all the way around and has a freaken belt on it! How the hell do I move my arms!? Ok seriously, whoever's out there, Let me know cus this is gunna bug me all day...-

"Oh TRUST me friend, J could fix you right up, though the question of whether or not you'd like the results is very much up in the air! Ehehehe. Though if you asked I'm sure he would love to give you..." With a flick of his wrist 8D's hand popped off and rolled for a bit before comeing to a stop before Selenus, standing on it's index and middle fingers, and offered Selenus it's pinky as if offering a handshake."HAND! Ehehehehe! Oh Oh that one never gets old! OH Ahahah Ehehehe!" 8D went to wipe a tear from his eye momentarily forgetting his new stump"Eh? Oh right... Eehehehe!"

8D's laughter would suddenly stop as Selenus made his next comment. For a few moments the entire hall was quiet. Not a single child's scream of joy or splash of water could be heard."Oh, dear Lunar One.... Save that for rank seven at least... No need to spoil all the fun now." In an instant the sounds of the waterpark would return, and 8D would begin laughing once more "Hey Sele! Would you mind... HANDING me that!? Ehehehe!" 8D roared with laughter as he pointed to is hand with his stump.

Selenus winced at whatever 8D was implying by not liking what J would do to him. "I'm not really one to pick right now. Earlier this morning my right audio receptor protector fell off because the bolt was loose. I'll take any repairs, unpleasant or otherwise."


Robo-doggie watched 8D's hand pop off and hold out its pinky finger. The whole event was akin to a scene from an early 60's horror film, except not threatening at all. Selenus groaned at the horrendous pun that soon followed.

Before he knew it, Selenus noticed that... that...

Hey, 8D. You mind helping a dude out and just pretending that I wrote a detailed account of the way in which Selenus reacted to your shenanigans? It's like four in the morning and I have a test tomorrow and I'm trying my best to write something up here. Thanks in advance. Oh, and by the way? That cape-like thing you wear's called a ruff. A Jester's Ruff to be exact.

Anyway...

Selenus looked down at the people below. They seemed to have forgotten about the little scuffle between him and 8D earlier then. Turning to 8D, he spoke up. "I'd enjoy to stay and chat longer, but I should at least try to get things done instead of meandering around at the local water park. I'll drop by your bar in the near future for repairs. I can't actually drink, but I'll still try to make a monetary contribution. Farewell."

With that said, Selenus once again leaped from structure to structure and object to object until he was out of sight, and out of the premises.
