Talking it out (Charles, Demon?)

Jack felt his stomach churn as he heard the bleed off from Zach's call to arms. Did he really think he could use this catastrophe to make a push for the islands?... What kind of monster would take advantage of this chaos and confusion to further their own goals? Whatever he was planning, it couldn't be good. Though if there was any silver lining to this whole situation it was the Barrier. At this point it was it was a god send, making San Malarus not only a safe zone for civilians and refugees but turning it into a strong command post. Though, there was something about it that felt... off. Why hadn't he and Charles been contacted about it? True they were relatively new on the force, but this seemed like an all hands on deck situation, that coupled with the fact that it just came out of nowhere left a bad taste in his mouth... Though at this point perhaps it is wise not to look a gift horse in the mouth. After all, any safe place to evacuate civilians to is good in Jack's book.

"Alright Partner, keep vigilant," Jack would say as he and Charles tore through the streets of the city on their way to the subway,"Our number one priority is getting all civilians to the other side of that barrier, other then that  keep your eyes open for a Demon that doesn't look to hostile," At this point saving civilian lives was priority number one. Though in the long run, if they wanted to end this quickly they would have to gather more information, best way to do that is go to the source, in this case the Demons. If they could find one willing to have a nice chat, then maybe they could find a way to send them back home...

The dome placed neatly on top of San Malarus gave hope to Charles and helped ease his soul. If what the lady was claiming was true, then the dome would protect them all... And he could help Jack. That was all he wished right now, but he just couldn't shake this feeling of worry gnawing at him from the back of his mind, over and over... There were other people he cared about. People like Shunnosuke... the other rangers... and... her. He wouldn't dare say her name. Ever since they last met, she'd managed to shake the very foundation of his determination and grab hold of him all over again. He had to know she was alright! He had to know...

This was all going on somewhere in Charles's mind, growing slowly and steadily towards the breaking point, as he followed Jack. He'd ask him after they were gone from this riot, ask him to call her... But not tell him why exactly... For now, he was preoccupied listening to the man, Zackary. People like him... There was good in everybody, but some kept it hidden well. Why bring more chaos to the world right now? People were already panicking as it was. And, not to mention, the circle of demons forming above them was growing ever more sinister. He frowned and called out to Jack. "Shouldn't we detain him? This can't be right, just as you said... a madman." But his question presented an answer on its own. They just couldn't do everything, no matter how hard they tried. They had to secure the civilians, get them to safety, AND look for a demon to question. And do the same for all the other reachable islands, while solving the case regarding the demons above their heads. Something was brewing.

Charles bit his lip. "Nevermind. We should do as you say." He followed up his question almost immediately when the feeling inside him finally reached the boiling point. "H-hey Jack." He would grab his partner's forearm and stop him in his tracks. His face riddled with worry, he'd avert his gaze, almost funny as he was so tall, and meekly asked for a favour. "Would you mind... calling Mae on your phone?" Mae, the name itself brought horrible pictures to his mind. What if some demon got her? And that girl she was always playing with. The orphanage as well. "I-I mean, just to see how they're doing in San Malarus, you know."

"No... You're right, we need to deal with  Zach as soon as possible, but now is not the time. Right now hes surrounded by an army of his supporters and probably guarded to hell. I speak from experience when I say that confronting someone at their own rally is not the best plan..." Yep... Live and learn... Truth be told, however, Dunbar was the least of their worries right now, they had to focus on-

"Hm?... Mae? Good idea! She should be in San Malarus right now. She'll be able to clear this stuff u-" Jack was cut off by the sudden voice over his radio... What? What was this? Bring the civilians to the prison?... What the hell was this? Not missing a beat Jack would touch his hand to his com and speak"This is officer Jack Rannells, San Malarus PD, Please clarify, Why are we bringing Civilians to the prison? There are plenty of safe houses in San Malarus, what about that barrier?, Over,"

This... This didn't seem right... something was off...

Charles huddled nervously with Jack around the com as confusion overcame every other information in his brain, forgetting for a moment about Mae and the thrill that came when Jack accepted his idea of calling her. Really, what was this? Wasn't San Malarus put under this barrier thing to serve as a safe haven? Why weren't people being let in? And prison? Sure, the prison was heavily guarded and they'd be able to protect the exit with relative ease, but what about the dangers from within? If they overcrowded the prison, wouldn't the convicts be able to roam free? There were bound to be incidents...

Charles stared down at the com with his mouth agape, awaiting the reply that was, hopefully, to come as a response to Jack's question.

"You can't just shout an order like that with no information," Jack cursed as he once again took off"I need name rank and affiliation before I can start trusting random chatter ya know, cus if you hadn't noticed there are Demons flying over head. I'm more then willing to bring civilians to the prison but you have to give me something I can work with!" Jack motioned to Charles to fallow him towards the more densely populated part of town. Even if this guy on the other end wasn't who they said they were, they still confirmed what Jack already knew. Civilians come first... Once the battle field was clear of innocent lives, he could focus on solving this mess.

Silently Jack summoned his tarot card and slid it into his Morpher, summoning Megazord's hulking form. "People of Standasen, alert, this is an evacuation announcement, please form an orderly cue around me and we will escort you off the island and towards safety." Megazords booming voice echoed rang through the streets as he fallows Jack keeping his eyes open for pockets of survivors or incoming danger.

"Charles! Keep the skys clear as best you can, we need to be fast and to reach as many people as we can, so I'm counting on you to keep us out of the line of fire." Jack grimaced as he pressed his hand to his ear piece once more "What is the status of the prison? Requesting a demon count and fortifications, do you have any Persona Users or beings of similar power, and if you do may I speak with them?"

Charles followed Jack. There really wasn't a second option. As instructed, they would take care of the civilians and then focus on whatever else they wanted to do about the situation. And then halted as his head nearly bumped into something.

Was that Jack's Persona? He thought as he looked up at the construct. Yep, it was. "Erm... Is this really a good idea?" He wondered, more to himself. Giant robot things weren't really commonplace, even he knew that...

In any case, Jack kept the command chain in line. For now, Charles would let the whole, 'oh look, that Power Ranger robot just popped up out of thin air' business, and keep a lookout for any aerial threats, while waving his hands at the crowd, trying to redirect them here, to... Megazord. Geez.

"Let's go, people! We're the police, hurry up! We're getting you to safety!" He actually looked somewhat like a cop, unlike Jack. And Jack's Persona.

Oh, he had never really summoned his new Persona, has he? It never crossed his mind, but it could prove to be a good practice if he had to summon it now ~

"Shit! NO!" Jack cursed under his breath as he saw the few people that were near by flee at the sight of his Megazord. Figures... These people are panicked... To them Megazord probably just looked like another demon. Jack let out a frustrated sigh as Megazord sheepishly faded from view and retreated back into the depths of his mind. "We just don't have time to do this on foot... and if we use our Persona we'll just end up scaring everyone away... Damn it..."

In a huff Jack reared back and brought his fist into a nearby vehicle, the dull thud from the impact rang slightly for a moment before the large metal transport caught his attention. The large grey bus was haphazardly parked at an odd angle that suggested it was abandoned in a hurry. The lack of any current passengers or driver and dull hum of the running engine gave Jack an idea. "Hey... Charles... Ya remember that MP3 System I installed into you? Well... How loud can you get your speakers to go?..."


While Jack was much more experienced in driving a normal vehicle, the bus wasn't to different. Taking a slow and safe speed, Jack wound through the streets of Standasen. "How ya holden up Partner!?" Jack would call to Charles  if he agreed to this slightly less idiotic plan. Cranking his speakers up to 11 and blaring an evacuation call as they wound through the streets and made their way to the subway was slightly smarter then using their persona to do the job. Hooking Charels up to the Buss'es own speakers and horn was only a small task for Jack, and did wonders for getting the word out. Thankfully they made a stop to pick up Jack's police uniform first. People would surely trust an officer more then a masked stranger any day.

Stopping for anyone who would respond to the call, Jack made his way to the subway.

Strength used:

"Jaaaack!" Charles frowned at his partner at the sight of the people fleeing from Megazord. Seriously, how could he not see something like this happening? People aren't used to Personas, this is even the first time he saw that they could summon them in this world. Damn, so one plan was down... He followed Jack, seeing how there was no way for him to manage such a rattled crowd anymore...

Luckily, they found a empty bus. As the dark haired android leaned against one of the handles, while Jack did whatever he wanted to do, he raised an eyebrow when he asked him a curious question. "Oh, that." He crossed his arms-it was explanation time. "You don't remember? You had us go and specifically get the best possible speaker we could afford, as well as the amplifiers. With my electrical output and my source module, I could 'crank' it up as loud as 120 db, maybe even a bit louder if we wanted to risk frying the system, though it could work with my Orgia mode." He looked at Jack, still kind of confused. "What do you need it for?"

"...I'm still holding...not thanks to your driving, though." Charles stood with his torso out of one of the bus windows, preventing himself from falling out as Jack drove around by holding on to one of the poles. He wore no shirt. From his shoulders, two loudspeakers adorned with flashing lights of various colors have risen up and were blaring an evacuation message for everyone to hear. He also had loudspeakers in... other places, but he wasn't too keen on sticking those out of the window. In any case, his own speakers coupled with the bus's speakers were more than enough to alert everyone in the area.

-Citizens, this is the police speaking. It is of utmost importance for you to evacuate as soon as possible, preferably to the prison. It is not safe outside. I repeat, it is not safe outside. Please proceed to the docks on the side of the island overlooking the prison. We will make certain you are safely transported from there on, or get into the bus so we can relocate you to safety ourselves, I repeat...-
