Stand out in a Crowd:

Endymion Plot Specific Highlights Tumblr_n4ojisCaS11tyd1mwo3_r2_500

Social Qualities - Social Qualities are skills that can be gained through roleplay that can further express your character's role in society. Each plot will have their own specific qualities your character can work towards to becoming an extraordinary person compared to the rest. These are not to be confused with character strengths, as these can be built upon as the plot goes on. All characters start at the base level in these qualities and must work to bring them up to a higher level. It is possible to create strengths that let you start a rank higher than the base, among other things. All traits max at level 5, and work off their own points list. Some social events or even links with NPCs may require you to have a certain social trait to a certain level.

Endymion Plot Social Qualities:

Expression(Charisma/Deception) - This Quality is used to help either convince, or deceive those around you. As a cadet or terrorist, you're going to come across alot of different types of peoples and demons. With high charisma, you'd have a better chance ot convince Demons to join your cause, or even get other humans to support your cause in general. With high deception you may also be able to trick others into doing plights for you, or talking your way out of trouble. These are just bare pluses that can come with a quality such as this.

Rank 1 - (0-14 pts) - Plain
Rank 2 - (15-29 pts) - Unpolished
Rank 3 - (30-44 pts) - Confident
Rank 4 - (45-64 pts) - Smooth
Rank 5 - (65-79+ pts) - Charismatic/Deceptive

Understanding (Hot-Wiring/Pick-Pocketing/Lock-picking) - This Quality is used to help on the field. Locked doors, guards needing to be pick pocketed, or even stealing vehicles come with ease for this class. Helps those understand the mechanics of hardware and sometimes even people or demons.

Rank 1 - (0-14 pts) - Basic
Rank 2 - (15-39 pts) - Oddly
Rank 3 - (40-79 pts) - Kindly
Rank 4 - (80-139 pts) - Generously
Rank 5 - (140+ pts) - Saintly

Intelligence (Hacking/Creating/Dismantling Robotic instruments) - This Quality is used specifically towards technology. The higher the level the easier it is for one to hack into machinery, cameras, databases, etc; and dismantle or create robotic instruments such as droids to more complex creations.

Rank 1 (0-19 pts) - Slacker
Rank 2 (20-79 pts) - Average
Rank 3 (80-139 pts) - Above Average
Rank 4 (140-199 pts) - Smart
Rank 5 (200-259 pts) - Genius

Courage - This Quality is used specifically to talk to NPCs, Demons, etc that have an overwhelming presence that keep many away. It can also be used to take dangerous shortcuts through dungeons and on the field that may be deemed suicidal unless one is brave enough to take the plunge. There are many other instances where courage will apply, and it may be a quality work pitching into.

Rank 1 - (0-14 pts) - Timid
Rank 2 - (15-29 pts) - Ordinary
Rank 3 - (30-44 pts) - Determined
Rank 4 - (45-64 pts) - Tough
Rank 5 - (65+ pts) - Badass

Ranking up your Social Qualities:

There will be various ares and activities in the city that allows one to rank up their social qualities. These areas could be arcades, dojos, sorority activities, plot events, etc.

Time waits for No One:

Endymion Plot Specific Highlights Tumblr_nuuajyC9e11udimtao1_500

Timed Event System - Endymion's Time of Day is very important for the plot. Though topics created by players that are simple social link topics with other players do not advance time; there are specific types of topics that will. These are listed as:

Topics that Advance Time:

Event Topics - Topics that pertain to plot. These are usual created by the DM or Staff, but can also be created by a player if it pertains to an important part of the plot. These event topics will be labeled [Event] with the time of Day they are pertaining too. If you participate in this event; then after this topic it'll be the next phase of the Day.

Completing Missions - Some missions only take place during certain times of the day. Needless to say, if you take on a mission at this time, whether you fail or complete it the time of day will advance for you.

NPC Social Linking - When you Social Link with an NPC, it will advance time for that day. Keep this in mind, considering some social links only appear during certain parts of the day.

Recreational Activities - Activities such as Fishing, Playing Games in the Arcade, or even Gardening will take up a portion of your Day.

If there are two events going on at the same time, both within the same time period, you will have to choose one or the other to join. You cannot be in two morning topics at a time unless it pertains to just social topics with your peers.

There will be a universal clock ticking within a widget on the site that shows the time of Day. I understand we're not all in the same time zone, so this will be very loose aswell. If you're not EST; you get the leeway of up to five hours to post within a timed event that may be occurring following that close. Don't worry, because days in Endymion are longer than ours in the real world. So don't be afraid that you're going to miss an event in the morning, because you'll have plenty of time to join it.

When it comes to these timed events, each character will have a "Calendar" section on the boards to keep track of their days. After you do a time advancing event, you'll simply post the topic there following the template. You do not need to post social topics in this, only time advancing topics. Social topics, once again, work on their own time. So even if the site says "Day", if you want a social topic at night you're free to have one. Think of those as your free time outside the rules. Even if you wish to dungeon crawl and it's day officially on the site; you can do it. However plot event dungeons will need to follow the ticking clock, and can only be participated in at night.

Become your True Self:

Endymion Plot Specific Highlights Tumblr_nv6zznZMLi1ued5kio1_500

For the Endymion plot there are specific ways to awaken depending on your character class. You will no longer face yourself like the Persona 4 awakening, but you will still face your Shadow during your Prime Awakening (If you're with Philemon) so don't worry about that.

Endymion Plot Specific Highlights Rcioax

Persona Users will awaken in the form of "Breaking Free" from society's standards in Endymion. As they progress before their awakening, they will begin to see the corruptness of the city, and of the Government that runs over it. Even before unlocking their true potential, they will be able to see some demons clearly, even though they appear like ghostly espers, and will begin to find themselves attuned to the supernatural side of the world. As they begin to unlock their potential, this will make them a target for demons that work with the government. They will attempt to force their way into ones mind, giving them false hope and causing the user to become mentally stressed. If successful (A Shadow Self Awakening), the person will become possessed by their Shadow and lose themselves completely.

However, for a Persona User, though close to losing themselves to their other self (hence your yellow eyes during your awakening), your Persona will surface and protect you from their temptation by "Masking" off your presence from them. This will be your first battle, and will act as your tutorial battle if you're not used to combat as of yet. Once you awaken to your Persona, you will be able to see other Personas, Shadows, and Demons clearly. You will also be able to see the true form of the world at night, as some places change in appearance to those who hold the potential.

When you're a Nyarlathotep Child, your awakening isn't as life threatening. Those who show true promise in the Seven Stars Academy will be allowed audience with the Queen. She will grant you power if one swears allegiance to the government, and will place you in the Class 0 of Cadets at the Academy. Once receiving your Tainted Persona, you will have a test battle to determine just how high you rank amongst your comrades. Just like Persona Users, you will be able to see the world differently after awakening to your potential. Though unlike Persona-Users who are seen as a menace, you are hailed as a hero and can freely use your Persona without being persecuted on the streets.

Forgotten, ASSW, Rogues, and Velvet Attendants still follow the guidelines they have for awakenings. However, each of these classes will have a tutorial fight aswell to get accustomed (excluding the Attendants).

**Personas, etc can only be used at night when the supernatural activity is at its highest.

Endymion Plot Specific Highlights Empty
PostSubject: Re: Endymion Plot Specific Highlights   Endymion Plot Specific Highlights EmptyTue Nov 10, 2015 11:55 am

Knights of the City:

Cadets and Persona-Users have different roles in the plot, and different mechanics. For the traditional sense of plots you've experienced on New Arcana before; being a Persona-User may be up your road. However, Cadets will work abit different in terms of their story elements and gameplay. For one, being a part of the Government's military force requires you to take parts out of your day to participate in investigations and "witch hunts". Even in combat, you all were trained by the Government to be a force, and thus get some different options that those not working for the Government will have. This comes into the form of "Combat Roles".

Investigations

Endymion Plot Specific Highlights 2vbrk77

Endymion may be a city under order to the common eye, but that's because you're keeping it in order behind the scenes. The Cadets have the nasty jobs of hunting down Psyche Terrorists and Demons who would look to topple the city's order. However, finding them is also part of the job. You will need to thoroughly investigate crime scenes to locate people of interests. This can come through physical investigation or asking around a certain part of town. When investigating physically, there are usually main points to a room that you can focus your attention on. These are marked by a magnifying glass. Once doing this, you will have a number of options to choose from in order to investigate it. However, you will have to choose right to get the proper information from the item before moving onward to the next focal point. If you see the magnifying glass on a Persona, you will start an interrogation with them to get information about the scene of the crime. Some people will lie to you or hide information; so you're going to need to pry it out of them. Those with a higher charisma will have an easier time doing this.

Endymion Plot Specific Highlights Tumblr_njbdp4IQVa1sxcttho1_500

Combat Roles

Seeing that the cadets are trained as a military force, their combat system differs from the standard combat of those who are not aligned with the Government. Each person in combat can take a combat role that gives them latent stat boosts in terms of their combat and aptitude; making them a dangerous force. It is up to you what role you'd like to have during combat. However, you may only hold one role at a time, and cannot switch when combat starts unless you have a strength or skill that allows it. However, if you're removed from combat and put into the Quick Reaction Force; when you return it can be of a different role.

The Different Roles and Their Boosts:

Vanguard: The foremost cadets. Those who specialize in being at the front of the battle would want to take this role in combat. Cadets who take this role have a latent boost to defense stats by 25% and their attacking stats are raised by 10%. However, their SP and luck stat are lowered by 30%.

The Main Line: Cadets that centralize on all that's needed for combat. They do not get any stat boosts, nor do they get any stat reductions, being on this part of the formation.

Rearguard: The team at the backlines. In this formation, you'd usually want to put your support oriented members. Support skills (tactical skills, healing, buffs and debuffs) receive a 5% boost in terms of potency (if they refer to percents in how they work.) and your SP and Luck will be raised by 40%. However, in the Rearguard your attack stats will be lowered by 50%.

Quick Reaction Force: The team who does not participate in battle. They standby at the ready; looking to switch out with their comrades when need be. Considering they are not participating in battle, and are on standby, there is no change in stats. When coming into battle, they can choose which role they wish to take. Those coming in from this role or leaving the combat zone to join this role will be completely open for attack, and will not be able to defend themselves. Their next turn, they will be able to take a proper turn of action in combat.

More Gameplay Mechanics:

Forging Masks

Endymion Plot Specific Highlights 5yrbet

A Persona is another mask one wears to face the hardships in their lives. Taking that basic concept, the Velvet Room (and Chee) have obtained a new function of forging Masks for users to use during their journey. The main ingredient to forging these Masks are Demon Essence that are obtainable by negotiating with demons. When enough essence are obtained, a Mask can be forged for a User to wear. When wearing this Mask, you get the ability to summon the Persona the mask represents along side of your own. It will act as a supplementary Persona, coming with a potential boost to stats and more skills to be used. With these Masks, you do not only have your own Persona, but a second one, so you may be versatile for any situation. However, the stronger the Mask, the more cards that will be needed to forge it. You can find a list of available Masks under the Velvet Room. To forge a Mask it does cost VC, but you will find them necessary to complete your goals. However, once you start a mission or traversing a dungeon, you cannot switch your Mask. You can only bring in one Mask per thread, so be sure to make the right choice.

Just like your regular Persona, Masks gain experience and level up to learn new skills. Once maxing your Mask, you may perform a Sacrificial Fusion held by Igor(Chee). Igor (Chee) will take the core essence of your Mask and fuse it with your currently equipped Persona. This will allow you to take a skill from the Mask and replace a current skill on your Persona. However, the Mask's level must be maxed for this to occur. Once the Mask is used in a fusion, it is lost and must be re-forged.

As the Wild Card already has many masks they can wear, they can not utilize these masks as well as the other classes. Thus, these Masks are virtually useless for them and gives them no benefits. However with the Wild Card's ability to wield many Personas and change whenever they'd like, they will soon find they are quite capable without the ability of wearing these special Masks. **Masks CANNOT be given to other players. Masks forged for you can only be used by you.**

**These Masks can also be forged by Chee at night in the Backlight District. Those who do not have access to the Velvet Room can purchase their Masks here.**

**Those who work with the Government will instead tear their Mask in two when summoning their Persona, instead of wearing it like the Persona-Users. They do this to symbolize they have nothing to hide behind a false Mask**

**There will be a Mask List located in the Velvet Room where you will be able to choose what Mask to forge**

Shadow Accel

Endymion Plot Specific Highlights Tumblr_njavt2XYIE1sutdsuo3_500

Shadow Accel is a new technique for dungeon traveling but can also be used outside of battle for high speed movement. When you appoint a leader in the dungeon, the leader can travel through the dungeon themselves. When they're performing the Shadow Accel, instead of moving one square at a time, they will move three spaces at a time. So if you can only move six squares on normal, you'd be able to move 18 spaces in Shadow Accel. You will still need to write the appropriate number of words like normal. When you are in this state, any enemy you come across will automatically have the first move vs you in combat, however it allows for a faster traversal through dungeons. When encountering an enemy, the rest of your team will join you in combat even though you're the only one traveling in the dungeon. For each post, you must choose whether to Shadow Accel or post a regular way. However, you can not mix and match the travel types. Just keep in mind of your surroundings and the chance of an ambush when you're traveling this way. You can still do this technique when you're alone in a dungeon aswell. *Sukukaja does not work for this technique* Outside of battle, Shadow Accel can be used to dodge bullets in short bursts.

Soul Skill Name: Shadow Accel
Persona Name: N/A
Tier: Tier 1
Cost: 15 sp
Type of Damage: N/A
Description: A high speed movement that allows the user to move at high speeds in short bursts. Out side of dungeon traversal, the movement distance is from 0 - 5 meters.

Evokers

Unlike previous plots, this plot has Pre-Set Evokers that must be added to your app depending on the class. Nyarlathotep Children/NWC, Velvet Attendants, The Forgotten, Shadow Selves, and Anti-Shadow Suppression Weapons do not need to worry about this. However, classes that use a an Evoker, such as PWC, Persona-Users, Rogues, ETC will need to follow this rule.

Your Evokers for this plot will be mental shackles that appear upon your wrists. When summoning your Personas, these mental chains will appear, and you will physically shatter them to release your inner self upon the battlefield. It's up to you how you'd like to destroy the chains. However, there must be some semblance of you breaking free from the chains to summon your inner self. No exceptions.

Activating Quick Action Sequence (QAS)

Quick Action Sequences are points in time where you will need to respond immediately on your decision. You will be given certain decisions through these moments that you can choose from. Some of these decision require your social qualities to be up to a certain level before being able to choose it. However, with each choice you make, it will have an effect. These sequences can happen anytime. Whether it be during dungeon crawling or attempting to form a social link with an NPC.

An Example of a Quick Action Sequence:

Perhaps you come across a powerful demon in a dungeon that's much stronger than normal. A Quick Action Sequence may occur that forces you to make a sudden decision. Usually only the leader of the party will make a decision on what to do in these situations but not always.

You may get multiple options such as:

>Screw this and run for the hills!

>Stay and fight it out (Courage needs to be rank 2)

>Negotiate with the Demon (Charisma needs to be rank 2)

Depending on your options will determine what happens next. The QAS could stop and you can resume your dungeon traversal, or it could continue onward with more options. Depending on your decisions could make things go in your favorite or the opposite way around. You may even win some prizes if you choose wisely.

Support Role

Endymion Plot Specific Highlights Tumblr_muwagctAFw1r2binwo1_500

A support role is not referring to a PC but instead an NPC. This NPC acts as a supportive role for your team. This supportive role could vary, depending on your alignment. For example; for those working with the Platinum Playhouse you will have Larsinny as your Supportive Role. In regards to being a Cadet with the Government you could have Julius or even another NPC cadet supporting you.

Each Supportive Role NPC has their own skill list that comes with them. The catch for them is that there are limits to when they can actually assist you during combat. They each will have their own meter that builds up by a set amount for each turn during combat. Depending on the amount of meter will determine what skill they can do, and also how much meter they will need to burn to perform this skill. Some skills may even break the 100% limit and go further. Think of it like the supportive role of Persona Q if you must.

To perform these skills, the leader of your group (who will most likely be posting first in order) will perform the Support Skill their turn. It does not take up their own turn, but does come out at the start of your turn cycle. Meaning if it is a healing skill, it will heal everyone, and then their attack will go through followed by the rest of your team, normally.

The Tension Limits:

These will grow by set percents each turn of combat. Your Supportive Role NPC may have certain moves that can only be used during battle and some that can only be used during dungeon traversal. The percents raise by the intervals below.

Forging Masks

A support role is not referring to a PC but instead an NPC. This NPC acts as a supportive role for your team. This supportive role could vary, depending on your alignment. For example; for those working with the Platinum Playhouse you will have Larsinny as your Supportive Role. In regards to being a Cadet with the Government you could have Julius or even another NPC cadet supporting you.

Each Supportive Role NPC has their own skill list that comes with them. The catch for them is that there are limits to when they can actually assist you during combat. Keep Busy during the Day:

Endymion Plot Specific Highlights 2m64vok

Dungeon Crawling isn't the only attraction of Endymion. During the day there will be plenty of things to keep you busy and advance your character. If Social Linking isn't your thing, then how about exploring the area to find the full benefits of Endymion?

Endymion Plot Specific Highlights Rutjcw

Garden Path Vegetable Patch

The Garden Path Vegetable Patch is a part of the garden used to grow and care for plants that produce vegetables for consumption. If you're willing to give a down payment of 3000 VC, you may rent a patch of land here to use to grow vegetables that will give you items. The more patches you rent, the more vegetables you can grow at a time.

You will have to visit and maintain your garden numerous mornings to make sure it grows into a healthy plant. If you neglect your plants for too long, they will die.

If you're willing, you can pay Feya 1000 VC to take care of your plant for you, and inform you once the fruit is bore.

When planting your crop, you will make a topic called [Insert Username - Insert Crops being planted - The current date] and this will be used as your area to manage your plants.

For example: [Philemon - Heart Tomatoes - 11/4/2015]

Once the topic is created, your first post will be you planting the crops, and that will be your official start to monitoring your plants. Remember, checking your plants register as mornings; so if you do you're burning that morning and moving on right to the afternoon. This means any social linking with NPCs / Events/ Missions/ etc. allotted for that morning time has been forfeited.

Different Plants

Item | Effect | Quantity per Purchase | Cost

Hearty Tomatoes | Recovers 10% SP for 3 posts after consumption. | x3 | 500 VC

Hearty Eggplants | Recovers 5% HP for 3 posts after consumption. | x3 | 500 VC

Blaze Apples | Boosts Fire Damage by 30% for 3 posts after consumption. | x3 | 500 VC

Frost Pears | Boosts Ice Damage by 30% for 3 posts after consumption. | x3 | 500 VC

Breeze Grapes | Boosts Wind Damage by 30% for 3 posts after consumption. | x3 | 500 VC

Shock Oranges | Boosts Lightning Damage by 30% for 3 posts after consumption. | x3 | 500 VC

Rocky Strawberries | Boosts Terra Damage by 30% for 3 posts after consumption. | x3 | 500 VC

Light Berries | Boosts Hama chance by 20% for 3 posts after consumption. | x3 | 500 VC

Dark Berries | Boosts Mudo chance by 20% for 3 posts after consumption. | x3 | 500 VC

More to Come...

Tokyo River Fishing

To Fish: If you want to spend your Morning or Afternoon fishing, in your topic name please put "[Fishing]" somewhere in the title. This will let us know this is not a social topic, but instead a fishing topic.

Endymion Plot Specific Highlights Qwwpzk

How to Fish: When it comes to fishing, you could say it's similar to playing Battleship. You will choose a letter from A - Z and a number from 1 - 21. Though you can see the fish above, when you're fishing you will get a blank map without any Fish. They will be hidden. If you hit a square within their mouth region, you will instantly get the catch. However, any other part of the body you will need to hit them up to three - four times. The fish will be randomnized for each person. These Fish are very expensive and can be sold to Chee at night. Fishing also automatically adds 1 point towards your Understanding just by participating in it. If you are able to actually catch a fish, you will gain 3 points. If you catch the legendary fish of the river, you will get 6 points. However beware as the fish can sometimes face in different directions (contrary to what the example image implies).

The amount of times you can fish per session goes by your Understanding. If you're at the base level of understanding you can only do 2 lines. This number goes up by two the higher your understanding. Selling Fish can get you a large sum quickly if you're lucky.

Plus more..

Working a Part Time/ Full Time Job:

In Endymion there are plenty of places to work if you're looking to make some money on the side. However, you will have to sacrifice a time of your day to do this, whether it be Day, Afternoon, or Night. When you make a topic where you're working, you will put the topic title as your character's name and then [Working] at the end of it. Depending on the clock will determine what time of day you're doing this in. You will not be able to participate in events or social linking in that time of day if you choose to work.

How to make Money:

When you're working, think of your words transferring over as currency. For example: Let's say you work on the ranch. In the topic, you will basically type out a self roleplay of you working on the job. If you type 1000 words you get 3000 VC, and so on, gaining 3 VC per word written. You have up to 3000 VC you can earn this way if you're willing to spend the time to do it. However, you also will gain 10% tips based on the overall contents of the thread, judged by its Grammar and its Quality as an interesting look into your character's life. This raises the total maximum for most work threads to 3600 VC.

Splitting the Bill:

You are able to work with others to reach this word count if you'd like. However, the over all VC received will be split evenly among you all who participated. It's an easier way to get cash if you're low, you'll just need to sacrifice some time to do it. In addition, there is a special 10% bonus you can achieve for well-done Cooperation in telling the story, allowing players to achieve a maximum 3900 VC to split amongst themselves. You may even submit it as a Social Link for ranks 1-3 with your partner.

Show some Class:

There will be a number of Sororities in Endymion that you can join. Each Sorority will have activities to participate in that will raise the Social Quality that specific Sorority is aligned too. These activities can also raise social links between yourself and your fellow members. Participating in club activities reap a boon of benefits, but will also take up a portion of your time during the day. Be sure to balance when you spend time with your Sorority.
