| A week later...The large school bell rang on one island, and news was all over talking about the rally organized as a collaborated effort between the Zela Academy Principal Isla Mullochin, the island government, and various other officials. Some were still a bit wary about the conference, as some were tense about the events that happened, and what remained like some of the damage, a few deaths, and the looming green star that shone even in the sunlit sky. Actually, it still looked like a smaller sun, and people were starting to develop a superstitious belief towards it, along with the islandic culture associated with the volcanic mountain in Malstu. It seemed like it was merely there to add something new to the mystery of the islands. Eventually people would stop caring, since for a while it never seemed to do anything, though that didn't stop certain people from making wild predictions on the level of "end of days". Under the shade of the large tree that held this large announcement, several were on a platform dancing in front of an audience that danced to music played by flutes and drums from the side. It was a small festival that was meant to be a small gathering. Alot of the actual conference had been finished, discussing various changes that were being made, the reconstruction, the current absence of the Biggest Top, and other things. Soon after, Isla Mullochin had made a speech herself after recently announcing she was finally attempting to run for Head Minister of Azores, addressing the concerns to the public. The populace was still a bit tense, even as everything went quiet. However, Isla spoke rather well in her speech."Even in the end of the nightmare we all went through, we all are still remembering what scars they might have caused. However, if we continue to revel in the past, we cannot focus on the present and prepare for the future. We must put this time in our history, as a time where Azores stood strong, and overcame an obstacle." Everyone appreciated that, and it seemed to calm everyone at least at the rally so far. The other teachers, Adam Pelk, Connor Levonne, Mika Narakama, and even Ariston Rhodes were there. Simon Alba was a school official in a way, but he was absent from the event. They stood on stage with her when she spoke, though none of them said much and merely smiled to the crowd and bowed when she was finished. They all were happy themselves. Everyone was enjoying themselves, still talking about what had happened, and perhaps with lingering tension, but able to at least forget about it after some time. The rally went through the day, which acted more like a festival aside from the actual officials talking. Isla herself was proud of seeing her students and society pull through; she herself going through her own issues during the time. Ariston felt a little better, knowing it was all over, though he wished it turned out another way. His brother was in prison for being a victim, and he himself had something he wanted to do, but practically none of it came to pass. Perhaps there was a happier way to end this, but regardless, their islands were safe.....
However, unbeknownst to the majority of the population, something was happening outside their islands. A struggle, far off, and coupled with the events here, changes were happening. In fact, one person at this rally had an inkling of what was happening. Of course others might know, but it looked like she had to focus on one thing at a time. The votes for the new Minister were happening soon, and she definitely looked in favor to win, which was important. After all, she would have to come up with a very good excuse as to why travel to and from the islands would be impossible, along with making sure resources were still being made when the time came... ~ Azores' Otherworldly Competition for Humanity: ENDCongratulations, you have completed the Otherworldly Competition for Humanity. Those who survived and were lost will not be forgotten. Azores is in the arms of safety for the time being. You can tally your achievement points here. The top three will earn a prize. | |
