Darwin resembles a large, anthropomorphic figure composed of a mechanic-like main body, double-helixed extremities that resemble DNA and a complete deficit of a head. From his back grow out a set of two wings composed of linked chainmail that, despite not being supposed to be able to sustain anything midair, are constantly flapping and keeping him in the air. The small gem on his chest glows brightly when casting magic.

Persona Background: Charles Robert Darwin, (12 February 1809 – 19 April 1882) was an English naturalist and geologist, best known for his contributions to evolutionary theory. He established that all species of life have descended over time from common ancestors, and in a joint publication with Alfred Russel Wallace introduced his scientific theory that this branching pattern of evolution resulted from a process that he called natural selection, in which the struggle for existence has a similar effect to the artificial selection involved in selective breeding.

Description: Cyrus will cross his arms over his chest until he is hit by an attack (which will count as a guarded-against attack). If he is hit by a physical attack, he will gain a 15% defense boost against physical attacks for 3 turns. If he is hit by a magic attack, he will gain a 15% defense boost against magic attacks for 3 turns. Only one defense boost will be applied per successful skill cast.

    Physical defense (PEND) and magic defense (MEND) can be affected at the same time (as is the case with Rarukaja/Marakukaja). It would be better to say that only one defense stat will be affected per skill cast. This means that, for example, if Cyrus casts his human skill and then is hit by a magic attack, he will have his magic defense boost, but if he is hit by a physical attack right afterwards, he will not then gain a physical defense boost right afterwards and vice versa.
