| ABELLARD JUNE"Here in Parangelia having a weakness is like planting a knife in your back".
The Biography
|
Birth Name: Abellard June Aliases: Abel, Orpheus, Little Lamb Gender: Male Age: 25 Birth Day: February 29th Arcana: The Moon Place of Residence: Colony of Parangelia School Year: N/A Class: N/A
After School Club: N/A
Part Time Job: An artist performer/acrobat/dancer
Appearance: Standing at 5'10'' and weighing in around 131 pounds, Abellard is of what can be considered a lean build. He's not muscular, yet he doesn't sport an anorexic look either at first sight. His physical build can be described as aerodynamic, and it favors his position as an acrobat performer/dancer. Though his eyes are somewhat distinct due to the long, almond shape allied to the hazelnut color, his hair is definitely the most outstanding trait, kept long, very and usually long, and is as voluminous as dark, divided in a few braids kept trim by many fabric pins. As a proud member of an ancient culture and one of the last of their representatives in his generation, he wears varied typical ornaments in his hair, such as the traditional golden bells from his former ancestors that resonate soothingly at the slightest walking step. Despite his age, Abellard retains young facial features and usually shows a predilection for wearing cheongsams along with flat loafer shoes, though his attire tends to adjust to the formality of the occasions. He avoids catching eyes more than the necessary due to his unique appearance drawing attention by itself as well as his prominent participation in the spectacles, therefore his outfits are usually not outstanding, despite being far from monochromatic or bland.
- Spoiler:
Personality: Abellard is the graceful, collected and polite type, speaking in a low, deep and rhythmic, almost musical tone. He always keeps his calm composure no matter what and is hard to be fazed. Originally very shy and somewhat timid, Abellard's later inclination to be an artist as well as his acceptance as part of the main circus cast taught him to develop his collectedness and maintain a serene image to his peers and to his audience. While he may come off as not very talkative and extremely protocolar, part of his charisma to the public comes from his friendly yet not extremely warm personality. He's the type that at the same time is easily approachable but hard to get close to. Therefore, it's not a surprise that Abellard often appears as aloof and distant, despite his usual gentle and mellow demeanor to anyone who dedicates some time to talk to him. Prone to not hold affection immediately, he still retains courtesy towards men and women alike, as well as a deep appreciation for anyone he'd happen to entertain in his numbers.
He's dedicated to his role in the circus and train for hours even in his free time, giving 150% in all of his acts. He values his image to keep up, but ironically he reacts flustered when he's complimented, mainly in an effusive manner. Despite being a prominent presence in the spectacles, Abellard never lets it go over his head, being perhaps the most down-to-earth, humble star from the circus show. Do not take him wrong, he does enjoy knowing his performances are appreciated as much as he acknowledges the existence of fans, but at the same time, the whole concept of being an "idol" and a "celebrity" is something rather unique and new to him, to which he still struggles to adjust to. This way, he can not rarely stumbles when approached with flattering comments; thus, while his profession is his strongest point, it can also be his weakness and Abellard still retains some traits from his childhood, such as his shyness and, less often, his naivety when it comes to relationships, whatever relationships. Although he's sort of a self-reliant, independent lone wolf, he trusts his friends even if he comes to be betrayed and taken advantage of, and probably it's this unerring trust that keeps his co-workers to flock to him.
Abellard has a strong sense of justice and is quite stern to apply it. He is overall what could be considered as a "nice" young man, but even he knows how to be ruthless when it comes down to business. At the same time he's someone who hardly engages in confrontation and would rather solve any strives peacefully, even he has his snapping points, and when his buttons are pressed, he doesn't tolerate being defied. This protective demeanor extends to the ones he shares bonds with. Some people find it rather unique that Orpheus, the stage name he goes by, appears to have a diametrically opposite behavior when in action (save for this stern fraction of his personality), being fierce, perfectionist and extremely focused on his job rather than the soft-spoken, well-educated artist from behind the scenes. Certainly the trait he passed on to his stage alter-ego.

The Potential
|
Strengths: (Anything your character is skilled in, such as Martial Arts/ Drawing/ etc? You are allowed a maximum of five strengths and a minimum of three.)
—Strength Name: An Air-Walker —Description: Due to years spent with extensive training in acrobatic and gymnastics, Abellard has developed a good control of his body axis as well as an unmatched balance. One of his most recurring numbers is performing acrobatics on a tightrope elevated far above the ground level. This also includes a physical and intuitive knowledge, that came with practice, regarding the most convenient way of falling to minimize physical damage.
—Strength Name: A Fast-Paced Runner —Description: Abel is naturally quite agile, and due to his train routine including the development of quick reflexes, dodging whatever comes his way rather easily. In battle terms, that can be considered a boost to his agility, granting a +15% boost to his base Luck stat.
—Strength Name: A Proficient Hand —Description: Again, due to his heavy training and hard working in the circus, Abel has learned to maneuver objects with grace and dexterity. Some of his numbers include a variety of unique weapons, such as whips, chains and even sais or knives. This way, while he may be used to his typical weaponry, handling different kinds of arms would pose little to no problem to him, as long as he takes some time, varying from the complexity of said weapon in hands, to understand its mechanisms.
—Strength Name: A Talented Musician —Description: Abellard knows how to play lyre and harp very well. His long-term intimacy with string instruments is such that he can reproduce songs he heard as long as he devotes some time to pay attention to the song in question.
—Strength Name: An Attentive Ear —Description: While he may be rather quiet, Abellard is not clustered in a parallel world. Most of the time, he's paying close attention to his surroundings and any possible conversations running nearby. His innate curiosity about Parangelia's surroundings made him prone to be a very good observer, registering in his memory any information he deems as valuable. It does help that the bells attached to his hair are positioned very close to his ear, and contrary to common sense, they aren't simply decorative devices. They function like a beach shell, capturing the sounds nearby and intensifying their volume, in a radius of 20m.
Weaknesses: (You must have the same amount of weaknesses as strengths. These weaknesses pertain to you and not your Persona. IE: Physically Weaker, lack of attention span, etc.)
—Weakness Name: A Devoted Artist —Description: Abel is rather secluded and doesn't go out that often when not in company of his co-workers, mainly Troian. Perhaps that's the consequence of having a hard life since early age, or it's the influence of the hardworking culture in Parangelia. Fact is, he suits quite well the definition of an workaholic and puts his job above everything else. Or almost...
—Weakness Name: A Dependable Protector —Description: Whether Abellard acknowledges it or not, Troian relies on him more than he relies on Troian. Albeit the lad made a vow to stand by Abel's side, it's clear that he can do little to his favor due to his visual inability. Therefore, it's Abel who always looks up to him and protects him. Should something happen to Troian, Abel would move heavens and mountains immediately to run to his aid and if Troian is severely threatened in some way, it triggers Abel's alter-ego.
—Weakness Name: A Dependent Protectée —Description: His attachment to Troian is such that the mere presence of his friend soothes Abel's temperament and makes him much more relaxed and at ease when facing strangers. Abel is normally shy and can be sort of awkward if he doesn't have someone whom he trusts on a deep degree to back him up and make his social interactions run smoother.
—Weakness Name: An Addict to the Forbidden —Description: Little is known that the nature of Abellard's powers, intrinsically related to his culture and habits of his people, demands him to take some medications. It's a secret he keeps from even Troian, and they serve not only to keep his Persona in line, but also to keep Orpheus in line, as Orpheus is a manifestation of his true self as an alter-ego. Not taking the medications might trigger the Rage ailment.
—Weakness Name: A Wolf in Lamb's Costume —Description: Abel's alter-ego, Orpheus, is not a case of dual personality, but rather is a side of him that even the young man fails to understand. It's triggered under certain conditions, such as: a threat to the ones he shares high bonds with, a threat to the circus he makes a living at, outward disrespect and injustice. Of course, it's not triggered immediately and Abellard needs to be under constant stress to unlock it. In battle terms, Orpheus is his Rage ailment, without the limitations of a specific Rage-oriented spell and after "3 consecutive triggers". The successive use of these conditions might extend the Rage ailment duration.
Soul Bound Weapon: (This is the weapon you'll be able to summon to your hand while in combat. This weapon is special for your character specifically and allows you to fight Shadows without the need of summoning your Persona. This can be anything but a Gun (Or gun related weapon))
Weapon Name: Cupid's Lyre Weapon Description: They're basically strings stored in one of his countless golden bells that serves as a container for them. Once in combat, Abel swings the bells in a suitable motion and releases a variety of retractile and stretchable thin harp strings, going as far as 15 feet length. Once the attack is done, they immediately return to the bell's interior. Weapon Image: (Not necessary) Weapon Attack Type: Pierce Weapon Element: N/A

The Background
|
History: Abellard's past is not much of a secret, but he doesn't boast about it. It's known that he's an orphan and was found in the limits of Parangelia, along his friend, Troian. The details and reasons for such random apparition is still a mystery, but the young duo, starving and wounded, was quickly rescued by a caravan of "gypsies", a company of exotic travelers reminiscent of a culture that not survived the modern times and remained in the past, who quickly identified Abellard as an equal. Albeit what they meant as "equal" remained half unexplained to the young guy and they weren't exactly as amicable to Troian as they were to Abellard, the group was willing to accept both among them. Troian received the short end of the stick in this, not only due to his blindness but overall lack of receptivity. Therefore, while Abellard was usually well-received and trained to be an artist, Troian was delegated with less honorable tasks, such as cleaning and cooking for the troupe. Not really hard tasks, but for a disabled person they can still pose a considerable level of difficult. Abellard was never happy with the treatment Troian received, but Troian himself didn't mind. As long as he could stay by his side, everything would be fine, and he would gladly cope with his tasks if that meant having a chance to make Abellard company. After establishing themselves in Parangelia, the nomad flocks managed to gather a regular reputation as street performers, making a fame for themselves as strenuous, hardworking people, regardless of their exoticity. At first, to most natives, Abellard and his "family" seemed like a bunch of clowns who made effort in earning alms from those who had to work hard to earn their payments. With time, they could erase, even if only partially, the stigma of foreigners and soon they've build the first artistic center in Parangelia, with Abel as one of the most appreciated, talented and attractive stars of their shows. To the travelers, the years of training the young lad were nothing but rewarding, with his abilities as an acrobat turning Abel into no less than the golden goose of the circus. Abel, however, had different things in mind...
