The Biography

Part Time Job: None, presently
Appearance: A youth standing at four feet and ten inches, he turns out to be much shorter than most others who would be at the same age and unfortunately it doesn't seem likely he'll be getting much taller any time soon.
He has brown hair and eyes. The former is usually kept a moderate length (for a male) and mostly well-maintained for minimal effort. The latter have an empty gaze that looks upon the world with a sort of ... complacency? It's difficult to tell what, but they have a strange lifeless quality to them. Fortunately, the rest of his face tends to not only be clean and free of most blemishes, but usually decorated with a gentle smile in public so as to avoid completely unsettling people. That smile usually gives way to a frown or dull non-indicative expression of suggested normalcy when no one is in sight. His body is a lean one. It's a bit on the frailty side of builds, but isn't completely devoid of muscle he can make use of.
Given how he distances himself from others, it's rare to see him outside of school and thus outside of the uniform. A uniform he tends to not exactly properly, and a bit loosely which is a bit at odds with not only his personality but his performance in class. For those who happen to catch a glimpse of him outside of class, or who have managed to pry his shell and caused him to seek them instead: Casual is most definitely casual for him. A bit muted in color choice, but loose tees and appropriate bottom depending on the weather.
Personality: Come one, come all! COME AND GAZE UPON A LOST AND WANDERING SOUL! One who has seen the depths of depravity, tasted the bitter waters of the Styx, and felt the overpowering madness of evil all while wading his way further into Hell itself.
Okay, so maybe he's not that far gone ... yet, but Xin, who prefers to go by "Kazuya" as a mixed-heritage inhabitant of the Ueitawa Region, is defintely not all right in the head. For starters, he's convinced that all humanity, himself included, is scum and deserve to die. How they die is all in question, since he's not so far gone so as to kill himself or attempt to mass murder and bring as many damned souls with him into oblivion, but the thought is most definitely there and it has festered for several years. This extreme misanthropic view is also compounded by an insatiable desire to witness the suffering of others, physical or psychological ... it's a sort of reprieve for him from musing about the insanity that is life and one of the few things that keep him tethered down and now leaping off all the rooftops at any given opportunity.
However, as if to make his existence all the more miserable, he's well aware that his views are definitely not acceptable in polite society and has, for the most part, managed to suppress them (usually sating them with the activities mentioned above in his own private time). For his age, there is unmistakeable social wisdom, in that he's capable of hiding and walling off these clearly wrong and dangerous emotions and ideals with only faint traces appearing when he stops trying to reign in the urges. To most, he appears composed and terse, though mostly polite in body language. So, it's usual rare for anyone to know what truly lies beneath his exterior, that a raging beast that wants everyone to suffer for his amusement is caged within cages of restraint, reason and social awareness.
However, in truth, while his level of awareness is enough to appear normal in general, his lack of interaction with most other human beings, especially those in similar ages, means he's relatively unsure how to act if he got to know someone better. It's probably why he voluntarily distances himself, so as to avoid that possibility of being caught unaware of how to proceed and maybe deciding to let his more vicious aspects take charge instead. As such, to those who get to know him (assuming they manage to get to know him), he appears as a kindly person who's just a bit awkward in most situations and seems to mean well. Rather than a possible psychopath with deranged perceptions of humanity, but tries to reign it in out of free of the evil, evil, evil society trying to murder his helpless self.
As you can imagine, holding up this image does take the toll on one's mind, especially when that mind is already troubled and tends to have a lot of dark emotions that demands the extinction of humanity and all that. So, after a while, to cope with the two extremes, he eventually developed a strange sense of 'being'. Namely, if one were to break that shell of his and try to find out what lay beneath his polite if slightly arrogant position, and he had no intention of setting loose his desire to kill them via strangulation, he'd generally act very . . . strange. Childish. Goofy. Silly. His actions are incoherent, his words tend to be disjointed phrases, and he has a tendency to behave in the most absurd of manners while doing things that would either inflict very serious physical trauma to one person ... or end up appearing and being interpreted as a very elaborate and maybe humorous prank.
The Potential
Strengths:
—Strength Name: Conditioned to Evil —Description: No course of action will deter him. Any possibility, and I do mean ANY possibility, will be a viable option so long as it triggers an intended or desired effect. With the exception of obeying societal values so as to avoid drawing unnecessary attention to himself, he places no weight on any moral code and thus can and will commit heinous acts if it suits his purposes. He's also not likely to condemn these types of actions (though he wouldn't congratulate them either) or at all be affected upon witnessing them.
—Strength Name: Conditioned to Pain —Description: Exactly what it says on the tin. He's used to taking beatings, and receiving wounds and injuries that he's relatively capable of withstanding the pain and carry on to a certain extent. As such, he's not frightened by the prospect of getting hurt, and will fight aggressively. However, he still very much feels the pain and can still be forced unconscious if the pain is indeed excruciating.
—Strength Name: Fighting Experience —Description: How else did he get used to pain? Though he has no formal background, he's been in plenty of fights, brawls, and of course getting his own ass kicked from time to time that he has a degree of better awareness of a combat situation and capable of standing his ground against an opponent (unless vastly outnumbered, since he's not fully suicidal)
—Strength Name: Masking Emotions —Description: As part of his social awareness, he's more than capable of hiding his deeper intentions as well as covering up other, simpler surface emotions to whichever he feels would be most appropriate for the situation. Rarely do people realize that he is using cognitive empathy to simulate what he thinks would be appropriate to them in terms of understanding them, as opposed to genuinely processing their own emotions and responding appropriately. In fact, those who do notice he seems to be faking assuming it's part of his polite facade, rather than the fact that he simply could not care, is incapable of understanding, or is actually annoyed.
—Strength Name: General intelligence and acumen —Description: For both practical and academic knowledge, he's quite well-gifted. It's perhaps an element that allows him to maintain the calm and polite image and maintain respect from others rather than come off as "overly arrogant." Naturally, there are limits to knowledge and judgement, but he's able to utilize both to not only assist in the masking of his self, but also determine and try to understand the truths behind others. Usually, though, he's depressed at the conclusions he draws.
Weaknesses:
—Weakness Name: Mental Instability —Description: When irritated (which does happen, despite his best efforts) at the stupidity or the 'insanity' of others with regards to life, his mask slips and his mind falter. He's likely to stutter, and keep thinking about murderous ideas as opposed to rational ones, and if trying to communicate with others, his tone is noticeable less calm and polite, and blunt if not outright acidic. It's yet another reason he distances himself, since he knows that this is likely to happen. However, if and when he decides facades are no longer necessary, this becomes less an issue and he may instead simply let out his rage against people.
—Weakness Name: Bloodlust —Description: That rage, though, does affect his rationality. Since his anger is directed towards the miserable state of human existence, he is compelled to inflict physical harm to others, especially if those others are the ones who compelled him to drop his act, in order to create a sense of euphoria to beat back the clash of his aggressive and anguished nature with the fear of reality as it is around him, and lock them both back up so he may think a bit clearly and not overcome by either.
—Weakness Name: Low attention-span —Description: Sadly, while he's an intelligent person who's also quick-thinking on the draw, and able to react or respond to most situations ... he's very much an unfocused individual. The result is he generally tends to lose interest in things (and then maybe regain interest later) very, very quickly. This makes him unlikely to develop a solution for a problem and then stick to that solution, before considering either a new solution, a new problem, or something completely unrelated, like waffles.
—Weakness Name: Hedonism —Description: It's not apparent, but he definitely does love to indulge himself to keep what he thinks is his sanity in check. It just happens that his cravings tend to be violent and dangerous, and he will haphazardly venture to fulfill them (assuming he's still focused on them) without a second thought if pushed to the point he can longer keep his attention away from such interests. Which happens a lot more often than he's willing to admit.
—Weakness Name: Physically Weak —Description: Despite being one who has a taste for conflict and is used to the wear of it, his body isn't all that strong to begin with. In a direct conflict with another person, he'd most likely lose, if not for the fact that he has absolutely no compunction or any hesitation he uses for his method of defeating the opponent. Which usually either results in serious damage dealt to them very quickly, and thus incapacitating them with brutal force. Or escalating the conflict well beyond its original bounds and making it all the more dangerous. In laymen's terms, because he's not as strong as others, he has no reason to fight fair.
Soul Bound Weapon:
Weapon Name: Fists of Love! (Double weighted-knuckle gloves) Weapon Description: What it literally says on the tin. A pair of ordinary looking synthetic-material gloves, with powdered steel sewn into a special pouch covering the knuckles, the backs of the fingers and the back of the hand. Unlike some, where the gloves are indistinguishable from normal ones, the pouches containing the steel are somewhat noticeable on these pair. Also, they come in black. There really isn't anything that much more unique about them to be honest. Weapon Attack Type: Strike Weapon Element: ... Uhm ... physical/none?
The Background
History: What do you wish to know? Do you wish to know how this one came to be, his broken origins that shattered his mind? Or perhaps you know this, and instead want to learn how he managed to piece himself back together?
... No?
Ahhh. You wish to know him completely. Very well, I can oblige. Though, I will admit that not even I know the full details of this one's past. He's worked very hard in closing himself off to others that most which is assumed to be known has been nothing but hearsay.
For starters, his mother is a Chinese woman, and his father a native of the Ueitawa region. How they met, I'm not quite sure. It's most likely he ventured overseas, and came to know of this lovely woman, which our subject was borne of. Their home eventually returned to his own, and for a time it was good. It was quiet, and good for a few years. And then the quiet became a suffocating silence due to the father. Either it was an addiction problem or a mental illness that caused his change in character, from a morally upstanding man into one who seemed raving mad and a tendency to unload his frustrations ... physically.
Beatings? Perhaps. Arguments did occur, though how many of them ended with violence I'm not sure. But, the common mood was oppressive silence. Silence in fear of provoking him. The silence and the results of breaking it were not at all pleasant for the young mind of our subject. The unpleasantness only magnified when a horrible accident was the cause for it to end. I say 'accident', but perhaps crime or felon would be more appropriate. An intruder. Forced entry. A weapon. And one corpse. Thus tallies up the end of his father's existence, who had at first been a kind and loving paternal force, and then somehow twisted into something horrible and met a swift end. The seeds of disgust were planted, but for the time being his mind was occupied on sadness. Even if that man had gone mad in his final days, he was still his father.
Sadly, such sentiments would be lost even as his mother lived and still lives today. Their residence moved to the current area as of today. Nadashiki, I believe it's called? Let's just say he found himself a frequent target by the gangs that existed then, and in time learnt to retaliate if it were within his ability to, or flee (successfully) if it weren't a possibility. While his physical state was somewhat honed from all these experiences, some ending favorably ... others ending with him having the wind knocked out of him and proceeded to be beaten severely, his mental state was quickly deteriorating. I do believe that his ... inner self, you could call it, only manifested recently, and has just grown since then.
It's probably thanks to the dear maternal figure that he didn't just succumb to whatever maddening logic he had come to, and kill himself outright. But that presence was also what caused him to try to temper the unpleasant thoughts, now resulting in his distant personality as an attempt to keep others away from him so they don't know how broken he is. Still, this was a bright child, one who was once perceptive and emphatic to all those around him. And those experiences as well as his own nature allowed him, when suffering from the recent onset of a misanthropic outlook, to maintain a pleasant (if not cheery) disposition.
He still lives on to this day, his condition has worsened in that he's no closer in dealing with those issues (and it's not exactly clear how he managed to derive such absurd conclusions AND believe they are true) and is afraid. I guess you could say all he needs now is some reassurance. What kind of reassurance would affect where he goes, though . . . whether he can come to terms with the fact that the world is not a perfect place and live his life in spite of it all ... or decide that an imperfect world and its imperfect inhabitants are undeserving to live.
