Reuniting [Nozomi]

It’s been a while since the last time he met Nozomi. The circus date was…interesting, to say the least. What at first was a simple meeting between friends developed into a real date. Whenever Shunnosuke thought about it, he’d get in an unusual state of agitation. A kiss was just a kiss, nothing new to him up to this point. He had kissed Nozomi already before; as much as his mind tried to fluster him, this very stable memory of their first encounter lilted by haziness proportioned by going a bit overboard with drinking remained there. So…what could be different now? The more he dwelled on it, the more he thought it was fruitless. Lingering about it would return no conclusion.

And regardless of his inner indecisions, he still wanted to see Nozomi. He wasn’t lying last time when he expressed desire to keep the taller’s company for longer. Not much because of the skyrocketing degree of intimacy they developed in one night, but because Nozomi’s gentle, compassionate behavior got the best of Shunnosuke. Not to mention how fun he is, able to make the always sarcastic heir of the Kurosawas to laugh genuinely. Plus, his embrace…so warm, so comfortable, so protective and caring and … Alright, he was starting to linger about it again, wasn’t he? Which reminded him, he had to apologize for wetting Nozomi’s shirt, and for acting awkward after that, right? Or has the teen apologized already? Urgh, he didn’t even know anymore. This is so shameful in so many levels…

“Hello. I understand this is sudden, but do you think we can meet today? I know a very good confectionery here in Penecia, the address will come short to you. If it’s too complicate, I shall ask my chauffeur to pick you when you leave the train station. Whatever’s your decision, I’m waiting, yes? xoxo”

In any way, he sent the message as it is. Maybe he could have asked for Nozomi to type back a confirmation, but nah, he had free time anyway, he could wait for a bit before heading to the family’s office. He thought about adding “I’d like to see you again”, but that’d give the other the wrong impression. Shun didn’t have to appear so needy and clingy, that’d only scare the guy away. On the other hand…would offer to pick him up scare him away as well? Would he come off as worried too much? Why was he so insecure?

Naturally, he came early. Impeccable and good-looking as ever, but it was only expected for him to arrive sooner than Nozomi. Shunnosuke carefully picked a table a bit far from the others, on the outside balcony. The weather was nice enough to spend it inside and it seemed most people preferred less exposed tables anyway, meaning the exterior of the confectionery was rather empty. Now, what’s left for him is to wait, as he compromised to do.

Nozomi would be lieing back. It had been a while since he had gone out with Shunnosuke to the circus. He had a pretty good time with him. Albeit sure it got a little tense and everything though nevertheless it worked out for both parties. Nozomi was on his bed when he recieved an instant message from shunnosuke. Something about meeting at a confectionery. Shunnosuke appeared to have a rather good range of vocabulary it appeared as he read down off the message. Well. Not like Nozomi had anything else important interuppting him at the moment or anything. The boy would think to himself as he would get off the bed. Time for him to finally get off his ass. He would think as he changed into his usual attire from his inhouse wear. Though first.

"Huh oh yeah Sure. I don't mind this. Don't worry about it I'll get there myself. I won't be late or anything. xoxox

The boy would add the xoxox in an attempt to go along with whatever it mean't. Nozomi wasn't familiar with most forms of slang or anything like that. As he would walk out the door torwards the confectionery.

*Time Skip*

He would walk into the Confectionary and begin to walk around. Searching For shunnosuke as he would walk around. Not like he would call out to him or anything. Don't wanna make a scene or whatever as he was looking would eventually go torwards the Outside balcony and spot Shunnosuke at a table. He would prompt greet the boy.Well Hey there Shunnosuke. I see your looking impeccable as usual.He would say before taking the seat in front of Shunnosuke. Well this looks like it'll go pretty well.

Shun had nothing better to do, but to…think and wait. His elbow leaning against the table’s surface, only to serve as support to his chin. Nozomi said he’d come, right? So, well, nothing else left but to wait. Though he was uncertain if the teen would make it safely to the addressed place of meeting this time, hence why he offered to drive him to the location, to which Nozomi refused. Figures; perhaps it was a bit too straightforward of him to propose so.

While the teen was lost in his own worries, he skimmed through the menu. Hm, what should he ask? There are such a large variety of desserts…hmmm…

— Hm?! — He was completely distracted the moment he heard the familiar voice, to which he identified later as Nozomi’s, thus folding the menu chart, smiling broadly upon his arrival. — Oh, hi! I’m sorry, I was too concentrated here. I hope I wasn’t interrupting anything when I called you over. Was it hard for you to reach here? — He asked, curiously, while pushing the menu in his direction. — Also, take a look. I hope you’re fond of sweets? — He asked, expecting a positive answer. Shunnosuke was careful to choose a very renowned confectionery for this meeting, for the cakes and pies they serve here are simply delicious enough to convert someone who’s not fond of sweets into a fan. It was a rather fancy, decorated place, suiting the teen’s tastes and upbringing. Last time, he picked what he considered a regular-level entertainment, but now he felt way more at ease to arrange high-leveled meetings in elegant places with well-behaved clientele.

Don't worry about it. I actually wasn't doing anything when you messaged me haha so I was just like hey I'll go over here. It wasn't really that hard at all for me to get over here no. Just a ride and a little walking was all it took for the most part.The boy would say offering Shunnosuke a smile back while rubbing the back of his head a bit.It really didn't take him much to get here. Plus last thing he needed was shunnosuke being overly concerned potentially about that.Yeah I guess I'm fond of sweets. Never been in such a fancy place before. Looks rather nice Uh..Haha.He would say surveying the area. Shunnosuke certainly upt the ante when it came to standards. People here certainly did not dress the way he did. In fact he felt like a complete stranger over here. Could he even afford the stuff on the menu? Man. He shoulda came with a full wallet or something.

This place is rather nice. You ever come here often? I get the feeling your rather familiar with this place.

Alright. So reaching the place — namely “Clair de Lune”, a confectionery with a steady clientele — wasn’t a bother. Good. For a moment he thought he had made the guy leave San Malarus to break a sweat.

— Never? Well, today is your lucky day! I’m feeling quite generous this morning, so you can consider anything we order…on me! — It was true. Shunnosuke wanted to at least return Nozomi’s gentleness, not as much because he disliked owing favors to people, contrary to his usual self. This time, it as an honest feeling of spoiling a lower-class member for a bit and providing him an unique experience of being part of his world. Also, it’s a nice opportunity to apologize. — You’re not wrong. We regularly order cakes and pies from this confectionery when I’m feeling like treating myself something sugar-based, or when we have to host some party. The chefs here are friends with my family as well, and in turn we're long term clients. They’re quite skilled and decorate the sweets with such a perfection that makes you feel guilty for ravaging it with your teeth. — He chuckled happily. — I’ve been thinking of ordering something simple for a start, like a petit gateau or a crepe cake… Tell me, what would you like? — Shunnosuke definitely appeared to be enthusiastic about this date. Visibly more than the previous one.

Wow uh..Haha. This place looks rather expensive. I'm not gonna go all out or anything. To be honest. If I remotley Tried I personally think my stomach would explode.The boy would say jokingly while browsing the menu. Trying to decide what to attempt to delight himself with. Well the boy figured fuck it. Today is the day I gain ten lbs.Ah yes I could tell from how classy this joint is. Not to mention how you decided to pick it. After all given your classy standards.The boy would attempt to throw his compliment while being inable to decide what to order. Though rule of thumb for Nozomi is. Buy the fanciest sounding thing that you have no idea what it probably is. Well personally I'm thinking about this thing called a Tiramisu. Looks pretty delicious. In truth. He didn't know what the hell he was ordering,but Shunnosuke was happy at Nozomis company here. SO he figured fuck it go with anything. After all. NOthing here could ever taste bad with how well kempt it was.

— Lovely! — He said, interlocking his fingers only so his chin could lean over. He himself wasn’t too fond of tiramisu, but figured Nozomi didn’t have too much opportunities to enjoy the dish. Besides, to anyone who’s not fond of certain plate, upon visiting Clair de Lune, they'd definitely change their minds. — You won’t regret it, trust me. — That said, he made a single gesture for a waiter to come. A very sympathetic young man greeted both boys and took note of their words. — Please, bring me a petit gateau, the standard combination of cold vanilla and hot chocolate, and for my… — He stopped suddenly, glancing to Nozomi for a moment, somehow struck by the same loss at words. Were they friends? No, they had a bit more of intimacy than mere regular friends, and a degree of trust that wasn't as simple. But they weren’t committed yet, so… — …for him, you can bring a tiramisu, pretty please? — When noted he’d been silent for too long, Shunnosuke quickly recovered his polite smile to the waiter, who didn’t say a word until the heir of the Kurosawas spoke up once more, leaving the table as soon as he was done. He was there to work, not to pry on personal affairs, right? The two guys would find themselves alone again. — Now… It means a lot for me that you decided to come. I know you will probably say it’s nothing, that I shouldn’t do this, but…I wanted to express thanks for your company, both today and last time as well. And apologize for wetting your shirt, that was a moment of weakness that won’t happen again. — His laughter sounded sheepish in a soft embarrassment. It was still uncomfortable to remember the brief crying time, which is directly attained to…someone else, and some things he doesn’t want to relive.

Great!Oh I trust you alright.He would make a kind face towards the boy as he laid back in his chair. Looking around as the waiter would come forth at Shunnosukes gesture. It seemed Shunnosuke was really going all out with this. Even saying his order for him and everything. Though he was suddenly pause for a bit at the word he was about to utter my. My what? He didn't know what Shunnosuke was about to refer to him as. Though they did share an intimate moment prior in their last meething. The waiter would then promptly leave after Shunnosuke spoke again. I seriously don't mind it you know...?He would say in a reassuring tone. Sure this was mean't to be a lax meeting and all,but Nozomi had to get his point across.I certainly appreciate coming over here. This must be simply a fragment of the ever so fancy lifestyle you live. Though...Shunnosuke. You doing alright?You paused at the waiter for a bit as if something hit your head midway.Nozomi noticed the boys pause and was wondering about him. Was anything on his mind during this?

…he noticed. Gee. Sure he had things in his mind, but he didn’t mean to make them obvious. — Oh, that’s nothing! Pay no mind to it, will you? — He said, looking to the nice view of the outside. It’s better this way, for he didn’t want to rush anything, or ruin the good atmosphere between them. It was a windy day, typical of the upcoming fall season even though it’s still some way before fall itself would come to Azores. His mind wondered how many of these days he’d appreciate, in light of the state Azores faces itself in… — Hm, there’s something I wanted to tell you… I tried talking to my father, as you said. And…it worked, sort of. He says he’s still concerned about me, and it’s never in his intention to meddle in my business or the way I manage my life, for he trusts me to keep my head on the right place. Still… — He hesitated a bit to speak. — He can’t help but to worry, because he’s my father and he would never abandon me. — The blonde’s amber eyes seemed to be smiling like their owner, giving the teen a rather contemplative appearance that moment.

Hm alright if you say so.The boy would offer a nonchalent look back torwards shunnosuke while the boy occupied himself with the outside view for a second. It was rather nice and windy. He could tell extensively about his relationship with Mr. Leighton, his father, as well as with Eriko, the mother of the Kurosawas, but he didn’t want to vent on how sour they were to each other prior to Shunnosuke’s initiative to make it up for them. He’d rather keep the light atmosphere for now, though there’s something that’s not passing at all: — It appears to me Mr. Nice Guy has developed into Mr. Maturity. I wonder what other traits of you there are for me to find out. — Despite the teasing tone to it, he meant every word. Nozomi was definitely on his good side with his sense of maturity and empathy. He could even say he was surprised that someone so young was so…congenial.

— Hm, I’m afraid not. I came a few times with a few former friends from school, but never alone with someone else. Why do you ask? — The blonde wondered what triggered that question. He was no social butterfly, and even his social circle is fairly limited. Not always his “friends”, or rather, associates have time for an unpretentious hangout. In any event, he was satisfied to see the place reached Nozomi’s expectations.

Honestly Hm. I wonder how many Mr's I will become by the end of the week. You already got a decent few haha.The boy would remark thinking about it. Shunnosuke really did have a habit of teasing him. Though it was in a playful manner and nothing more in all honesty. With all the traits Nozomi had. I mean you were already familiar with the place. That was partial stupidity on my part I guess.He would rub the back of his head oddly. As for the other, he freed it only to softly touch the tip of Nozomi’s nose, with a mischievous giggle. Despite of the teasing tone, each one of his provocative nicknames alluded to one of Nozomi’s qualities…except, maybe, Nerdzomi, that could be indeed a derogatory term depending on someone’s view. Though even that could be a compliment, for he seriously wasn’t attracted to the overly buff, muscular kind of guy. If only Nozomi understood its meaning…

The ones who made me company were nothing more than former friends, relatives, nobody truly special up to now. — “Up to now” being the key term here. As for Nozomi not being able to stick around, Shunnosuke had a hunch. They haven’t talked about it, but it’s pretty self-explanatory judging by the word choice. — May I ask why? Unless you had to move constantly, I fail to see why not, since you are quite sociable yourself. — Of course, he had no guarantee he nailed it but should it be the case, Shunnosuke could understand why he’d have trouble developing longstanding bonds.

He wasn't used to being considered much by anybody really until he got onto azores. What was this moment. I've...Never really been considered special by anyone before. Honestly you see. I've been nearly all over the world. My family has constantly moved all over the place for business. However they have finally decided to retire and settle down in Azores. Which I find nice I guess. Though I never got the chance to get attached to remotely anybody or even speak to them much before leaving.It was a depressing thought yes. But he wasn't going to leave Shunnosuke in the dark about it.

With Zela’s current hiatus, I might be transferred back and we kept it that way. — He shrugged, straightening his posture back to the chair. Honestly, if there was a time when Shunnosuke cared for keeping his previous clique close to him, this time has long passed. It was nowhere close to begin with, just people from the same upbringing forming academic and financial alliances for mutual benefits purposes, and that’s it. Friendship is far deeper than bonding with someone because of their family’s influence, and their academic’s proficiency.

— Hmm... — He didn’t expect the question to be thrown at him for something he said, perhaps without thinking. Nozomi being perceptive again while Shunnosuke commits his innocent Freudian slips. Oh gee. — You’re certainly…unique, yes. — Is that enough of an answer, he wondered? Being unique to someone’s eyes means being special, even if the appropriate word isn’t said, right? — I see. Well, looking on the bright side, you got the chance of meeting another cultures often, but it’s definitely a good thing you’re settling down for a change. Such a pity that the circumstances are far from being favorable, considering all this supernatural apocalyptic stuff happening, but I... I hope you stay a little longer, yes. — He said truthfully, with a mellow smile. He could understand the problems of being constantly forced to move and reliving over and over again the adapting process to a completely different location. Stressing, to say the least. If even Shunnosuke went through it when he was transferred to Zela, it’s only natural for Nozomi to experience it on a larger intensity than just switching schools. Now, he kept wondering if the dark-haired friend would really move soon. After all, it seemed like it was made a practice in the past until recently, right?
