She couldn't handle it. Even somewhere else, she couldn't stop, even with someone's aid, she couldn't stop. It was a wonder this was the first place she came running to and not her loved one's... maybe because this wasn't something she wanted to burden her with, give her more to hold for her... Rita needed to carry some of the weight too...
"I couldn't do it... even when I tried my hardest, I couldn't save them... No matter what I do, that's always how it ends... why?!" She refused to open her eyes. In her mind, there was just a black void, her figure being of her past self. The person who couldn't save him, the person who wasn't able to make sure he lived... even right now, it was true. She wasn't able to save anyone, why would she? The girl was foolish, thinking her power made her able to accomplish anything. After all, wasn't she only a girl?
"We're all human inside, Rita. We make mistakes, there's nothing we can do about it... I'm sorry this had to happen to you..." The sobs were loud and clear as the pinkette next to her sat down on the guest bed she had lent to her friend. What reason did she have to stay next to her? Kristina didn't understand the issues that came with being a User and probably never would, so why? Well, simply, for a friend. She hated seeing the silvernette like this... matter of fact was, this was the first time she had seen it firsthand. There was nothing she could do but give her support, and she'd do so with a smile on her face for as long as she was needed here.
"Even if there's nothing you can do right now, there's always something to make up for this... you have so many people on your side, Rita... you have those three you brought with you not so long ago, even the Julian-san you told me about... you have a lover who believes in you too. And you'll always have me... so please don't be like this..."
It was useless. The words wouldn't reach the silvernette anymore. Even as she slept, the tears kept falling, her face contorting into disgust and terror... even in her mind, right now, it tormented her. A feeling of death... and all that was in her vision...
...was bloodstained tears.
Kristina, keeping a brave smiling face as she always tried to, exited the guest room to her house, right above the restaurant, and went to her own room... closing hour was here and the intercom showed no-one was in the shop right now. Might as well turn in herself.
