The One who Governs Justice ZR7yQHz

Judge of Hell, Paradise and Purgatory
”Danzai! (Danzai!) 300 years of damnation for you!”

The Biography

Birth Name: Kouhei Rin
Aliases: Judge of the Blue Room
Gender: Female
Age: Unknown
Birth Day: Unknown
Arcana: Temperance - Portrayed as a woman with angel wings mixing up the water of two cups, one blue, the other red, the Temperance Arcana is a symbol of synthesis, prudence, harmony, and the merging of opposites.
Place of Residence: The Velvet Room

Part Time Job: Works as a lawyer, as a cover-up to walk around in the outside world

Appearance: Rin can be described as an elegant woman, possessing a rather appealing physique and complexion, as well as a distinct style. The attendant has silky-smooth slightly pale skin as well as a slightly different color scheme from her brothers and sisters, with short green hair and a pair of sea-blue eyes. Her style of clothing, however, fits in with the Velvet Room, as she tends to wear velvet-blue clothing while in it. In the Velvet Room, she wears a sea-blue vest with golden shoulder guards and neck guards over a white dress shirt. She goes for a dark blue frilly skirt with a white accent on its tip, and dark brown dress shoes over a pair of short white socks.

In the outside world, Rin chooses a more current style of clothing, usually being comprised of a short dark blue dress with white stockings, the same dark brown dress shoes and a jacket over it. She also wears a muffler while outside, but can choose to take it off depending on the weather. One thing that stands out in her appearance is her headgear, though, as she wears a highly decorated hat while in the Velvet Room and a pair of golden hairpins while outside it. Her styles are interchangeable, as she doesn’t mind wearing her Velvet Room clothing outside, but avoids it since it can cause people to look at her funny. In terms of physique, Rin is pretty short, only measuring about 5 feet and 3 inches while weighing about 50 kilograms, which makes her pretty thin.

Personality: Rin is a sort of oddball, really. She’s usually very nonchalant and deadpan, while always serious, but can have her own silly moments once in a while. She’s very devoted to keeping justice and always acting in the favor of it. While she’s very disapproving of illegal acts, her attention tends to lie in the morality of the actions instead, causing a sort of contradiction in herself that is only shown rarely. As a lawyer, she has a very distinct sense of right and wrong, but also a very conflicting one.

In short, Rin doesn’t quite approve of the Velvet Room’s policy to keep Attendants from interfering with the outside world, as she was made to have an incredible capacity to judge and dictate right from wrong, but also made to serve Igor. This means that, while she still disapproves of her master’s orders, she’ll follow them as that is her purpose, though reluctantly. She sees the Velvet Room’s laws as just that, laws, which makes her own contradictory view of life contradict itself even more. While it isn’t moral for her to not interfere when help is needed, it’s also illegal for her to interfere as per the Velvet Room’s laws.

The Potential

The One who Governs Justice I43rrS3

Strengths:

Strength Name: A Just Mind is a Just Heart
Description: As per her creation, Rin was made to clearly distinguish between what is right and what is wrong and make clear, unadulterated and unbiased judgment that doesn’t involve herself. While she dictates the distinction based on worldly laws, her own understanding is based off of her sense of morality and not quite what others would call legal or illegal. This makes it so she’s a great judge of character and a good mood reader, as well as a fairly decent source of judgment.

Strength Name: Immortality has its perks
Description: While she doesn’t quite understand humanity as of yet, her long life has taught her the ways of humans and their nature, as well as taught her how to defend herself from mostly anything. She has no experience, but she does have knowledge of techniques and skills used in various martial art forms, particularly with weapons. Rin tends to train once in a while, though, with her own weapon, away from the eyes of her siblings, which gives her some leeway during battles to accurately use her own Compendium effectively. In mechanics, this translates to a 5% boost to Dexterity attacks.

Strength Name: Knowledge to last Generations
Description: With her long life also came a long flow of information, as she possesses great knowledge on historical events, fictional stories, religions, mythologies, etc. Simply put, Rin is a walking encyclopedia and anything that she can’t remember is usually stored in her compendium to recall easily with the touch of a finger.

Strength Name: Unorthodox Compendium Design
Description: Being made to be a judge and not truly an “Attendant”, Rin’s compendium was made to dictate the ultimate law of the world and looks it. Its design is not that of a book, but of a plaque, opening out to the sides in a holographic view to expand into an actual book. This, however, isn’t the compendium’s true power, as it is instead made to be a short sword that can be swung easily, instead of a book with a lot of weight to it. All in all, this simply makes her able to wield her compendium much more easily than other Attendants might, and allows her to be fast on her feet while also striking faster. In PvS, this translates to an extra hit dealt with her Soulbound Weapon.

Strength Name: Danzai!
Description: Despite her usually serious appearance, Rin takes joy in her theatrics and more so in making sure someone is justly convicted. This makes it so that, if she hits an enemy’s weakness or scores a critical hit on them, she gets a sort of buff put on her that raises her Attack, Agility and Defense by 20% each, wearing out the turn right after or if she herself gets hit with a weakness or with a critical hit. This also happens if the enemy uses a skill that she resists on her. To be more specific, the buff is put onto her stats throughout the entirety of the next turn as soon as she attacks, lasting for the enemies’ attacks and until she finishes her next turn.

Weaknesses:

Weakness Name: Immorality does not equal Illegality
Description: To put it in quick words, Rin won’t see something immoral as wrong as long as it isn’t illegal, or at least not openly. She does abhor the idea of immorality, but the rules to her are absolute, and doing something immoral to achieve legality is fine in her books. She may support people that are naturally evil, but have the cunning to follow the rules and sneak their way to the top using contradictory means. She herself, though, doesn’t participate in what she finds immoral or what society deems illegal.

Weakness Name: Too Fast, Too Far, Not Enough
Description: Rin has a distinct problem with getting riled up and performing, and that can lead to incredibly bad situations for her. While she can be riled up by an unjust act, she’ll still not enjoy it, and would try to do her best in order to convict the perpetrator and bring them to justice. This, though, is a bad thing, as she can some times lead herself into unfavorable situations simply because of her eagerness to pass justice, such as getting on bad terms with Igor and/or Philemon.

Weakness Name: Inexperience is Key to Defeat
Description: As stated previously, Rin doesn’t have actual knowledge of combat, as she has trained by herself for as long as she can remember, rarely having an opponent to fight on the field. While she’s good with her weapon, someone that is highly skilled in combat can probably get the upper hand on her quite easily. In PvS, this translates to 5% more damage taken from attacks. In PvP, this simply means that she can very well be taken by surprise by unorthodox or simply extremely advanced tactics, which makes her end up taking more damage.

Weakness Name: Unorthodox? More like complicated.
Description: Though her weapon design is fairly different from what someone may expect from an Attendant, it still doesn’t help that it’s quite short and makes it still very hard for her quickly switch Personae in battle. Since her compendium is, all in all, holographic, this means that Rin has to actually break the card using something else in order to use the skill she wants quickly, and it’s not advantageous for her to summon two Personae in one turn to attack. In PvS, this translates to her being locked to the skill that she uses first in a turn (for example, if she used Garu for her first hit, she couldn’t use any other skill on her skillset that same turn, unlike other Attendants). In PvP, while she can switch Personae to attack again, it’s not advantageous for her to do so, as she’d be wasting time that she could use defending.

Weakness Name: Danzai! Pt. 2
Description: Similar to her strength, if Rin gets hit by a critical hit or a weakness, or if she hits an enemy’s resistance, she gets a 20% debuff on Attack, Agility and Defense until her next turn, though she’s able to nullify it by hitting a critical hit of her own, striking a weakness, or if another enemy hits her resistance in the same turn. Since she’s downed for a turn after being hit with a weakness or a critical, this weakness takes effect as soon as she gets up, instead of right away, lasting for the next turn if she hits a resistance. To be more specific, the debuff is put on her as soon as she’s hit and lasts until she gets up and can attack, which means that the debuff can last as long as two full turns for her, vanishing right after she can attack. When she hits a resistance, it lasts the same way as the buff that she gets in her “Danzai!” strength.

Soul Bound Weapon:

Weapon Name: Rod of Justice
Weapon Description: A small short sword-like golden tablet with rune-like encryptions on it. While in compendium mode, a pair of holographic blades jut out of its sides to make it akin to a book, but those are only flair, as they don’t affect the Compendium aside from looking fancy. The compendium itself is about 30 centimeters in length of blade and is sharp as well as pointy.

The Background

The One who Governs Justice MTBz5ay

History: One of the Velvet Room’s most specialized Attendants, truly. Rin was created as a sort of guideline for what was right or wrong and has led humanity to develop its own sense of it through the law. While she isn’t an all-powerful being, she has helped, in a way, to make the laws that humanity follows to this day and tries her hardest to uphold them herself, feeling that it is her duty. Very reserved from others, really, ever since her creation, and always trying to keep away from relationships in the Velvet Room, choosing to spend her time in her own personal quarters, whatever appearance the room takes that time.

Her story isn’t a sad one, or a truly happy one, as she didn’t quite live too much thus far. Despite being an Attendant, Rin actively participates in outside world business as a lawyer, dishing out the law as her job demands. Aside from that, though, the matters of the Velvet Room are most important to her, and most of her time was spent inside the blue room, either arranging the pieces for her next case, or trying to come up with a new business approach. All in all, even though her life has been extremely long thus far, she chose to reserve herself from the world all that time.

Now, however, things have become more interesting, with the arrival of these Persona Users. She had to admit, no-one truly interested her before, but the events that were happening were indeed sparking her curiosity, and quite a bit. In specific, the corruption of the various worlds was… a point of interest, she had to say, especially with the feeling that came from them. Regardless, now that things have started to get ahead, Rin thought that she was best apt for continuing her life aiding however she could, investigating in her own way while keeping the law above all else still. At the moment, though, she isn’t too into this business and needs someone to guide her to it, as well as helping her make sure that her destiny is to aid the humans and not stand back like most other Attendants.
