Ghost Busting! (DJ and Oki)

So so... DJ gotta texty text from that underwater blue room! How they got her number... The world may never know... But hey! The DJ wanted to kill this ghosty they where talkin bout! Plus, it'd be better than sitting down and doin nothin... Eugh... But ahm, DJ wasn't the lone wolf type... And who better to bring along than Oki! Its fox was zeta cool! With the four of them, they'd be able to kill that ghosty easy peasy.


"A kind soul thou hast~." hummed the conductor within DJ's head. It made the DJ blush lightly as she took her evoker and stuffed it under her clothes before leaving the house. She'd prolly be considered insane if she ran out the house with a headset on... Her parents had made it unnecessarily clear how much they disapproved of her life choices as of late... Stupid hospital... She needed to get outta the house regardless, and what better time than to beat up a ghost?

The DJ arrived at Standasen station in the upcoming hour or two, spinning around before looking around. She'd never been to this island, let alone its alternate counterpart... It was kinda scary but DJ was gunna be tough! She'd make that ghosty pay for makin... Green fog... Aight, seemed legit~!

The DJ sat by the exit, waiting for Oki to show up. Once it did, DJ's jump up and wave her arms so Oki saw her, calling it over to her. Once Oki arrived, she'd go and hug it with an enthusiastic smile. She was glad she wasn't going to be alone in this venture...


"So so! Ya ready to go kill a ghosty!" DJ asked enthusiastically before jumping backwards with a silly grin. She was so hyped for this! There was no way they'd be defeated! They'd totally re-murderize that ghost!

"DJ knows the way to a portal, aight? So come ooooon!" DJ said before running off, skipping here and there as she did so. They'd eventually stop at the aforementioned portal, the DJ eying it for the first time. It was weird... How'd it work? The DJ walked around the portal before looking back at Oki, glancing to the portal again.

"So ya just walk through it an ya there?" she asked before going to do so, slipping into the alternate Standasen with a yelp. Eesh! How the hell did that even happen! Eugh... That was zeta creepy man...

"Hell... It's creepy here..." she muttered before looking around the swampy island. It felt... Inhuman almost... A ghost would so haunt somewhere like this, DJ had no doubts... Now was just tryin ta locate it... Shouldn't be to hard.

Oki had been keeping an eye on this and that around both the real world and the alternate ones. From what it understood something had already happened in Zela casting the school in deep sands…a result of something on the other side no doubt. It was something to definitely investigate, but for now the being was focused on a different island. The island known as Standasen to be precise and why was it interested in this island? Well that answer was rather complicated despite its simple start.

DJ had sent it a strange message that had startled it out of a nap and after reading it a few times, Oki’s mind finally understood that there was trouble in the other Standasen and DJ wanted to stop it. Well, outside of being invited to come along, Oki wouldn’t have let DJ go alone anyway if she had texted it about where she was going. The other worlds were strange and dangerous…and territory to angels.

This ghost that was spoken of…it could be anything from a simple haunting to a trick leading to something worse. In any case, the text message gave the being a quick focus as its eye settled on Alternate Standasen and DJ’s invite. This would be a way to collect information on both the other side and on DJ’s skills as a whole, but outside of that it was a way to see how compatiable it and she were in another world situation.

Sending a quick message that told the girl that it was on its way and to wait for it, Oki found its way out of the nest of sheets it was in and after a few moments of making itself presentable, it grabbed the necessary items it needed before closing the shop for the day and going to the station. After taking the ride to Standasen, Oki got off the train and moved along the streets until it found the area that DJ had specified in her text. As it neared the place, it saw the energetic girl jump up and wave it over.

With a smile on its face it would go over to her only to get an unexpected hug. It took only a second for Oki to recover from the move and return the gesture easily enough. It was kind of nice having a friend that did such things at random. It made the being feel welcome even if what they were about to do was dangerous. When the other asked her question and jumped back, Oki nodded with a light smile.

“I am as ready as I am going to be in these situations,” it said lightly, feeling itself become calm in comparison to DJ’s enthusiasm. While it appreciated the confidence, it knew enough about the other side not to get overly excited about it. It was no telling what waited for them on the other side, and this being new terrain made the need to be cautious that much more important. Regardlesss of this, Oki didn’t bring down the mood as it followed behind the excited DJ as she hurried off to the portal she had found.

As the girl circled it and asked her question, Oki was about to answer and demonstrate to the girl how to enter (besides it wanted to be the first to greet danger rather than DJ), but before it could do that, the girl jumped in without looking!

“Oi!” Oki called as it instinctively followed her though more concerned about what she may bump into than its own safety. As went through the familiar process of crossing over, it would find DJ safe and sound on the other side. Letting out a sigh of relief, Oki went over to her to help her up if she had fallen.

“Geez, woman don’t do that anymore okay? You scared Oki half to death,” Oki scolded the girl, but underneath it all the being was only very concerned as the relief of her being safe settled in. Still a bit moody, the being glanced over at her.

“You okay?” it would ask in gentle tones, its words giving away its true feelings. It forgave her. It was just taking a moment to really calm.

When DJ mentioned the place was creepy, Oki nodded lightly.

“Mmm. Every alternate world has their quirks just like the islands. Perhaps our prey chose this place to deter hunters and visitors,” Oki said as it anyalzed the area carefully. Then looking back at DJ it would give her a light smirk.

“But don’t worry. Oki will keep all the bad spirits away from DJ, k?” it said as it held out its hand for her to take if she wanted to. It was time to start this ghost hunt.

Mm… So, DJ had to be smart about this. This place had baddy things like Blood Bag! If DJ was gunna live, she’d have to be super smart… And Oki was here! Two heads are better than one~! So… Mhm. But um, how where they supposed to find ghosty in this place? The texty said it was in a block… So, like, was there a map somewhere? It was kinda confusin… But DJ had faith they’d kick that ghosty’s but! She walked forward a few steps before looking around, glancing back to Oki with a smirk.

“C’mon, Oki! DJ’s a big girl. We gotta go and kick this ghosty’s but! So ahm… Follow DJ. She knows the way! Kinda! Maybe!?” she said before walking forward, her guitar axe forming in her hand before she swung it over her shoulder, carrying it like one would an actual axe or large weapon. She didn’t quite know where she was actually going… But hey! If it wasn’t this way, it was that way. They’d get there eventually… Mhm. No doubt about it!

“Mine bard, watch thine self~. We are not yet invincible~. Caution is advised~. But please, thou must follow thine heart~. I trust the, mine bard~.” Tamara sung to the DJ within her head. Oh! DJ almost forgot… She fished her evoker out of her clothes, securing it around her ear. The technologically advanced ear piece showed the living image of the conductor Tamara Brooks playing beautiful music on the screen. The DJ smiled happily, this was like, her battle outfit or something! Felt legit! Though… She was kinda bummed she and Tamara weren’t, like, invincible yet… But they’d get there! These things took time. Mhm.

“Ahm… Oki? Do we need a plan for ghosty or something? It’d be zeta bad if we rushed in and it, like, killed us or something…” the DJ said with a light hum, looking back to Oki over the shoulder that wasn’t carrying a guitar axe. She was still scared… But she’d need to be strong for Oki and the people that this thing put in danger. If ghosty was anything like Blood Bag, it meat bad news… And DJ wasn’t gunna let that happen!

“… Oki, my name’s Rin by the way… Just in case things go south like, really quickly… I thought it’d be nice to hear my real name and stuff…” she said with a light smirk before laughing. She was solemn in those few moments… The weight of what they were about to do finally coming to the forefront of the DJ’s mind. This was real life right now… This wasn’t a video game with save points and stuff. DJ needed to beat this ghosty up before it hurt people. That was that.

Damp, earthy, chilly, and creepy by some standards. A place perfect for a ghost was what this alternate world was and interestingly enough it was almost equal in its strange nature as its counterpart. Heh and here Oki was beginning to think the other worlds were vastly different from the other side, but this one sought to prove it wrong. Fascinating.

Oki would continue to observe the area, taking a step forward to follow DJ before stopping and looking at the girl as she gave it a smirk and said her words. To them, Oki gave her a light smile back as it shook its head.

“Oki knows this…we just worry a lot is all. I’ll try not to do that so much any more,” the being admitted as it rubbed the back of its head sheepishly before letting out a light sigh as it glanced at the DJ with a mix of wonder and awe.

“Well, even if you don’t know the way, I am sure your enthusiasm will get us through it all,” the being said. It was a light playful jab, but also its own way of saying it was glad DJ was around. Without her this could’ve been a very dreary affair.

Without much of a fuss, Oki took note of the other summoning her weapon and even placing on a strange headset. The being wasn’t sure what she saw, but it seemed to make her even happier than before. Strange, but it didn’t bother Oki too much as it followed her out of the area they were in and into the next. As they exited, Oki looked around taking note of the ground beneath them. It was solid enough now, but looking down to the left (down) suggested that maybe this ground was not as stable as it seemed. If it wasn’t mistaken, the ground on that path looked very muddy and unstable. Hrmm…They’d have to watch out for that to be sure.

“Hmmm,” Oki let out the small sound as it looked over at DJ as she asked her question. “A plan would be nice, so we work together rather than clash. I agree rushing is not a good thing. But how to defeat a ghost is hard to say. We are not priest or hunter or exorcist, nor or we a great fighter. We are good with information and healing, but fighting is a so-so department on our end. So with that said, how do you think you can bounce off of that?” Oki said as it kept up with DJ, its tones and attitude remaining calm in the situation as it met her eyes with a reassuring gaze.

Sure, this was dangerous. Them going alone against a spirit, but they needed to stop the problem before it got out of hand and Oki needed the information. Still…it wouldn’t sacrifice friends for such data…and if an angel or something like Ananke was involved with this…well then….this could be worse than assumed. Even so, Oki would perish before it left DJ behind. No matter what was ahead, they were in this together.

“Rin. That is pretty name. Oki shall remember it…and by the way to avoid confusion of any sort. Oki is a gal, but don’t say anything to my boyfriend or anyone else unless necessary, okay?” Oki said preferring to keep this truth away from most until it was time for that secret to be revealed. The only reason it gave Ri the information was because it saw it as fair trade for her name. Trade completed.

In any case, it would give her a smirk of reassurance trying to ease her fear as they continued on with this deadly path to meet with Fate.

The DJ looked back at Oki when the latter told their gender. Huh... Why would one wish to keep such a thing a secret? The DJ didn't know, but it wasn't any of her business to be fare... The trade had been done, and the DJ was honestly shocked she even received anything for her name, let alone something obviously personal to the Oki... Regardless, the DJ would smile lightly and nod before walking a few paces forward... Just to get attacked by rocks and an ugly shadow's claw...

"W-What the hell!?" the DJ shouted out, jumping back and swinging her guitar in front of her. Eesh, this was so stupid! When did these guys show up!? Ergh, this was bad... Hmph, at least they didn't hurt to much... But to be ambushed by these freaky freakazoids was going to end in a light rain of the shadow's blood... Hmph, never mess with a disk junky after all.

"'Ey, Oki! We'll show these freaks whose boss! Chargin up and then we'll destroy them, aight!?" she said before strumming her guitar axe loudly, a battle cry coming from DJ as a sound like glass breaking rang from her. She was soon surrounded by a blue mist as her persona, Tamara Brooks, formed above her.

"DJ'll show you power!" DJ called out as Tamara hummed, an enthusiastic melody coming from the conductor's guitar. Oki would soon be surrounded by an orange glow, one that would invigorate her with more power than was common for her to have. The DJ would smirk as she continued playing her guitar, a light glint in her eyes. She was going to kill these shadows, then kill the ghost... This'll be a walk in the park, really.

22 Magic earth damage - 10% MEnd = 2.2 = 20 Magic earth damage
6 Strike damage - 10% PEnd = .6 = 6 Strike damage.

So instead of taking 28, DJ will take 26 damage all together. This leaves her HP at 137.))

So…it had shared its secret with DJ and thankfully she seemed to accept the information without questioning why the trade had been done or why it wanted it to remain unknown why it was a female. To be honest, the label was to simplify things because in the end….Oki could still be either one. It was a strange thing, but true. In any case, that strangeness would be quickly swept away as from out no where Shadows came at them.

“DJ!” Oki gasped as it saw the hits she took. It was concerned for her, but concern turned to pure flames as it felt another shadow whack it in the back. It would take the blow stumbling forward before rounding to face its enemy as it heard DJ speak.

“Understood,” Oki said as it’s eyes settled on the enemies around it as a pink pattern and aura surrounded it and Persephone was unleashed from her drawn form. As the large fox appeared, Oki could hear DJ’s music and feel the power of a spell casted upon it. As it felt the energy flow into it increasing it’s ability to fight back, Oki smirk.

“Thanks love!” it would say cheerfully before becoming serious as it locked on its prey.

“Would you kindly Persephone?” the being asked as it pointed at the one that had struck it in the back from before. Persephone would give the creature a twisted smile as it lifted a tail and began to wave it, the air cooling before an icy attack was unleashed.

Ah, jeez... They where really mean to Oki there. Hmph, DJ would just have to blast some sense into them was all. Though, it wouldn't be easy... But, heh... DJ wasn't going to back down with Oki by her side. They'd destroy these shadowy freaks with ease and grace, so woo! Let the party begin!

"'Ey, Oki! Just let the DJ know when to heal! DJ's gunna bash the brain outta these guys!" DJ yelled before summoning her persona with a sing songy woot. She was promptly surrounded by a blue mist as well as the sound of glass shattering around her. Tamara promptly appeared above the DJ and played a strong yet whimsical song. Musical notes made out of wind would soon appear around the conductor before they blasted towards a shadow. The battle was going swimmingly, no?

You pay back one and everyone else thinks they get the next dibs on ya. How strange…and painful. First came the shadow that had smacked DJ with rocks earlier. The one Oki thought about getting at first if it hadn’t been at its back. With strength and ferociousness, the shadow came in to use a slash attack upon the old being and then before Oki could recover from that, along comes the buddy with a double attack that had the being stumbling back from the pain that was inflicted upon it.

“Tch!” Oki let out the agitated sound as eyes glared at the two shadows. It would’ve pounced, but instead caught its previous playmate trying to get the last hit in. Unfortunately for the swinging shadow, Oki was quicker than it and was able to jump out of the way of harm.

As it landed back on its feet, it heard DJ’s words and nodded.

“Alright be careful now. This one here is weak to fire,” Oki said referring to Shadow 3 as it moved to a better position. “I’ll try to get a read on the others,” Oki said before falling silent. Whether DJ  heard what it said or not was uncertain,  but that still did not stop her from unleashing musical wind upon the shadows. While Oki couldn’t pay them all back, the being was quite glad DJ was at its back to do the favor for it.

Once Oki was settled so it could keep an eye on shadow 3 and see the other two knuckleheads, it would glance up at Shadow 1 briefly causing Peresphone's eyes to glow as she too looked in the direction her master was glancing. As the foxed watched the Shadow, Oki's eyes would look back at the one before it as the being made a move once more.

Stats and Actions:

((When calculating resistances, it's the number you take off to get your total damage. So if you have 4 as the number, then you take 4 from the twelve, so you take 8 damage. You also take off for each individual hit, not the combined damage, including skills like Kill Rush. The same goes for other hits. So you would take along with the 8 16 minus 35% of the damage, which makes it 11 for both hits. So it would be 30 Damage total. Also Auto-Analysis only works once per fight.))
