"I don't know, man. That seems a little too 'straight forward'..." A male voice echoed through the empty hallway. "You're shittin' me, right? You think that's straight forward?! Are you serious?!" The sound of a slamming locker exploded through the once silent hallway. "You just gotta tell her how you feel, ya' know. Do you really wanna be left in the friend-zone? You do realize how awkward that makes things for the both of you, right?" The second voice exclaimed; cackling at the climaxed of the words at the others expense. "Hey, it's not funny, Cole. I really like her, man. Shes so cute, sweet, sexy, smart, kind,..." The male continued to list traits; repeating himself every no and again without realizing it. The ebony male interrupted him with more words, "Damn, dude. You're beyond whipped." The male ceased the listing and exhaled one gloomy sigh. "Yeah, man. It's bad... Now do you see why i'm afraid?" Cole yawned and started walking down the empty hallway; hands stuffed in pockets as he whistled a catchy tone. "Eh, not really. That just gives you more of a reason to just go for it, ya' know? Man up, dude. Stop being a little pussy." The student sighed yet again, "easier said than done, Cole. I'm not you; I can't get any girl I want..." The duo made there way down the flight of stairs and were now on the second year floor.

"Yeah, I am pretty sexy, huh?" Words drenched in sarcasm and arrogance. The gloomy 3^rd year merely sighed at Cole's response. Cole laughed yet again and wrapped his around the neck of the male beside him. "Just bustin' your balls, bro. relax. Believe it or not, I don't get every female I lay eyes on. Granted I'm pretty sure they're gay if they don't fall for me, but that's besides the point!" He paused and chuckled, "But that doesn't stop me from asking them out. Rejection ain't shit; it happens to the best of us. Don't worry about it, alright?" The male gave a reassuring smile, "I guess you're right..." The duo made their way down yet another flight of steps. They were now in front of the school and passing the first year classes. "Just think it over. But you better make your move fast. The longer you wait, the further you fall behind, capiche?" He nodded, "I understand. I need to be heading home; gotta pick the little sister up from school. I'll catch you tomorrow, Cole." And with that the two parted ways. Cole stood in the hallway watching the lovesick male depart from the school. "Poor dudes gonna get his heart crushed." He shrugged, "That's the way the cookie crumbles, I suppose." The ebony male eyed the information board and took in it's abundant amount of information. He read about the different clubs looking for new members and specific school events coming up in the near future. He smirked, "Anime club? Yeah, fuck that." He found the miscellaneous info upon the board rather entertaining, so he'd spend quite some time reading it all for some unknown reason. Maybe out of boredom? Who knew...

Genji had a pretty average day today. He worked hard in all of his classes like he normally did. Luckily, the work wasn't too hard today, so he didn't have to ask for any help after class or stay after school for any tutoring this time. He liked this time of the year. He didn't have to spend any more of the little time he had doing random things that he didn't want to do. But if he had to and his grade depended on it, he would do it.

He didn't have to yell at many people today, either, it seemed like everyone was a good student today. Genji liked the thought of that. He wasn't one to enjoy scolding people. Many other people on the Disciplinary Committee seem to get a kick out of making others miserable. Genji certainly wasn't like that. As long as there were rules being broken, Genji would do something about it. He wouldn't go around purposefully causing trouble for others for the smallest things, nor would he try to threaten people with his looks or posture. He was there to enforce the rules, not strike fear into the masses.

The day was over and Genji had a little time before he had to go home. He wondered what he could do. There was a lot to do, really, he could hang out with friends, go to a movie, study at home, do his homework, go sing some karaoke, the possibilities were endless. He would have to get home and go to work eventually, though. He had a decent shift today, but it was never really a hassle working at the pool for him.

That's when he saw a large ebony man looking at the information boards. He wondered what he was looking for. Usually, the only one who ever look at these boards are first years who don't know what club to sign up for. He certainly didn't look like a first year. He didn't look like he would be in high school for that matter. Genji thought that maybe he should help him out. There was nothing like getting information from a person to get the facts straight. Genji walked up to him and had to tilt his head upwards to get a look at his face. He smiled and said, "Hey there. My name's Kano Genji. Do you need information on clubs? I mean, reading a huge sign must be boring, after all." Maybe Genji would make a new friend today, maybe not, who knows?

"Hmm...?" Cole fixed his eyes upon the source of the friendly voice. "Oh, nah, dude. I'm fine." He placed his gaze back upon the information board. "A little reading never hurt anyone, right? And besides all this stuff seems really self explanatory." Taking his eyes off the board and putting them back on the male named Genji, Cole couldn't help but think he saw this male somewhere before. "Yo, you a 3^rd year?" He looked the shorter male up and down with observant eyes. "You look pretty familiar, but I may be thinking of another dude." Cole chuckled and crossed his muscular arms up against the chest. "You can call me Cole, but the full name is Barbados Cole. Seems only fair to introduce myself seeing how you took the liberty in doing so first." He unleashed yet another wave of laughter as he spoke to this very familiar individual.

Cole Barbados... That was right, Genji knew of him. They are in the same homeroom. They haven't met personally, though. Genji was actually a little upset by this. He liked meeting everyone in his classes and meeting them on a personal level, not just from an introduction at the beginning of the year. This was a perfect chance to get to know him more.

"Yeah, we are in the same homeroom. I'm surprised that we never personally met each other, I mean, we've been in the same class and this is the last term of the year," Genji told Cole. Genji thought about it. He realized that this was the last term of his third year. Next year, he'll be off to college and on to bigger and better things. He didn't really realize it at first, but it certainly troubled him, to say the least. Not only was this a big time in his life, but he had some big things to take care of.

Luckily, he had some major things taken care of, such as college admissions, but there was still so much more to worry about. He had to eventually move out, he had no idea where he was going to go, probably somewhere close to his university. He had a lot of money saved up, so he wouldn't be in any debt if he keeps his job at the pool. He gets his rent and tuition taken right out of his paycheck, he practically works everyday, so he had a lot of money. Luckily schooling and housing in Japan was cheap. Thank whoever is almighty that Japan's economy was so great.

There was also the problem of people getting thrown into Limbo and the whole war with Shadows, it was kind of a big deal. Not only would Genji have to worry about that right now, he might have to worry about it in the future as well. So many worries, it seemed.

Genji decided to make some more small chat with his new acquaintance. "So, do you have all of your college stuff done? There's so much pressure on us third years, after all." It was sort of related to his worries, so it all worked out in the end.

"Oh that's right. Same homeroom, yeah." Cole exclaimed. It surly explained why this character looked so familiar. "Eh, College..." Cole chuckled nervously and took his eyes off the information board and placed them back upon Genji. "I have someone looking into that stuff for me. The truth is, I'm more worried about my career as a prize-fighter, bro!" Cole exclaimed; the utmost amount of pure enthusiasm in his voice. "The roar of the people, the intense feeling in the pit of your gut before you enter the ring, the engaging dual between two men, the training, the punching, the money, the women! It's all great and the perfect life for me, yo!" Cole began demonstrating some of his moves; footwork executed flawlessly as his punches sliced through the air like a hot knife passing through butter. "But I guess college is still important too, huh...?" He stopped and rub the back of his head out of annoyance. "Why must things always be so fuckin' complicated? After highschool we should be able to carve our own path. But nope! These damn instructors treat us like puppets and guide us through our predetermined path since day one. It's stupid shit, yo!" He sighed, "but, college is college, what are we supposed to do?" He chuckled.

Genji listened to Cole's words. To say the least, Genji was kind of surprised that he had so little goals with his own life. Cole had his own career, his own path. People were looking into colleges for him. Even if he complained about the stupidity of college, he also knew where life was taking him. Did Genji even know? He thought about it long and hard. In the end, he realized that he had no clue what he even wanted to do in his life. If anything, all he knew was that he wanted to help people. But he didn't even know what he wanted to do with that. "Helping people" was such a broad goal in life, there were so many paths that he could take, but he had no clue where to start. He was going into his university undecided and would probably stay that way unless he knew what he was going to do. He only hoped that his university days will help him find his own path, that it will help him figure out what he wants to do. But after that, he really has no more opportunity left. The employers want young people, if he's in college forever, how is he going to get anywhere in life? Genji had a lot on his mind, saving the world certainly made it a lot more stressful.

He wanted to comment on Cole's straight forward view, not many people had it these days. "I say that you're lucky, Cole-san. You have a lot going for you. Sure, I'm already in a university that I love. But the problem is, I have no idea where I want to go. You at least know where you want to go. You seem like you are very good at doing what you do. If you're already competing, then you must be able to go even further than where you are now. All I want to do is help people, but I don't know where to go with that. I wish I had as clear of a view as you did." Genji wasn't really lying when he said all of that. He was right, though. Cole knows where he at least wants to go. He has an idea. Genji is stuck with no clue. Cole doesn't have to worry about some of the things that Genji has to worry about either. He doesn't have to save the world while trying to figure out what to do with the rest of his life. How stressful being a Persona User is.

"Helping people, huh? That's a pretty noble and selfless deed, bro." Cole boasted, "Just make sure you wanna genuinely help people. I grew up to believe people only help others for items and praise." He chuckled, "But that's problem me just stuck in the past." Pretty cynical views for one such as himself; but they are all for good reasons. Leaning up against the bulletin board, Cole exhaled one yawn and continued talking. "You think my view is clear? Huh, never thought about it." He pondered over the thought, "I guess you're right. But that's just because I love fighting. I guess once someone finds something they love they'll stick with it because they love it, right? Kinda like marriage in a sense: You deal with all the bullshit, just to enjoy the little good times to come. But the good times out weigh the bullshit."He looked at Genji and smirked, "I'm not a big fan of being tied down if you haven't noticed." He cackled; his booming laugh echoing through the entire academy. "But you have a view. Ironically enough, you just don't see it. You want to help people, right? Become a doctor of sorts, maybe a lawyer? Ever consider police work? Maybe firefighter? See, the possibilities are endless. But if none of those tickle your fancy, just be yourself and do what you can, when you can."

The possibilities were endless, weren't they? There was a lot that Genji could do in his life that would tickle his fancy, too. There was a lot to do in Genji's life, wasn't there? All of these questions were rhetorical. Genji knew that there was a lot to do in his life. The paths he could take in his life were limitless. Well, maybe if he died, not so much. What he was doing was dangerous. He just had to make sure that he survived his next delve into limbo before he would even bother trying to actually think about his future. His future was very uncertain, but Genji knew that he had to do what had to be done. If anything, he was excited for it.

Genji was happy that Cole helped him realize it. He needed to be cheered up in such a long time. He was happy to know that someone out there was going through the same boat he was, in a sense. But it didn't matter if he wasn't a Persona User, he still had the stress of being a normal high school student, Genji liked that. He was ready to take on the rest of his day now. He would look at his watch and let out a little gasp. It was time to get to work! He had to leave soon; he didn't want to be late. Genji would look to Cole apologetically and say, "I'm really sorry, Cole-san. I have to get ready for work now. I have to get to the dorms and make sure that I get there on time. I had a great time talking to you. You improved my mood a lot, thanks. I'll see you around and in class." Genji turned and walked away, he would wave to Cole before leaving through the front doors. He would return to his dorm and get changed for work.

"Yeah, sure, take it easy, bro." Cole said seeing Genji off with a lazy wave with the hand. The brawler fixed his gaze back upon the information board and chuckled one last time before turning away from it. "Anime club?! Like are you fuckin' kidding me?" He shrugged, "to each his own." With that being said, Cole departed from the prestigious school and made his way home. It's been quite a while since he has been home immediately after school. Normally he'd be out training, but he has a fight the upcoming weekend and overexertion from training is never a good way to face any challenger. And besides, maybe his grandfather would be around? The little conversation about college had him thinking about backup plans. Who would've guessed...
