"I get that a lot, it seems. What makes people think I'm a nice person, though...? I don't think I'm that nice, honestly." Rita tilted her head forwards, playing with her bangs for a moment since she had no hat. "That's good. It's always valuable to have nice people as allies." She chuckled, then sighed slightly. This was still awkward to her. Maybe because she was tired, maybe because of something else, but Rita definitely didn't feel as much up to socializing now as she would have on any other day.

"True. That's no reason for me to let anyone jump into danger, though. If I can help it, I'll have no-one get hurt on my watch." The silvernette's eyes turned somewhat cold and harsh, like this was personal... and it was. She had already lost someone close to her because of this, and now she was expected to just let people waltz in, guns blazing? Of course not. She had full expectations that people would be smart enough to know what they were doing, but that wasn't all that was needed, that much was obvious.

"I see." Rita pinched the bridge of her own nose, thinking. "Hold onto them, never let them go. If they're truly special to you, make sure they're safe." Rita herself was always following her own rule, making sure Lia was safe. After all, that was the reason she gave her the ring, was it not? Maybe she needed to unwind for a bit... all this business was clearly stressing her out and the people closest to her could see it. Her brother had already warned her of this, even... it happened with him too, she heard. Maybe it ran in the family...

"Well, you're nicer than what you give yourself credit for, that much I can tell." It was a little difficult for her to put a finger on why Rita was generally seen as a nice person... "You seem to care about others quite a lot, which is very admirable." the pinkette smiled back. "Becoming a Persona User changes you... I sure have changed ever since I met Qilin, and in a positive way. At least, that's how I feel." Ever since getting this power, Mae had taken on a lot more responsibility, becoming more self-reliant, and confident in her own abilities. She had to. Whatever had changed, Mae felt stronger because of it. Not just in terms of her newfound powers, but she felt much stronger as a person. She wanted to become someone everyone could rely on. Someone who was there for those who could not fight back...

"I'm not jumping into all this recklessly, if that's what you think. I just want to keep my friends safe, and if uniting with other persona users is the best solution, then so be it. I owe my friends so much, and I would hate myself if they died because I didn't fight for them." The pinkette gazed out in the distance. Ayane, Kinaku and her band, Jack, Hyde and everyone else she had met on this island... She was not fighting for herself... Not anymore.

"Promise me you do the same, too, Rita." She gave the silvernette in front of her a quick nod.
