| Opening monologue theme: Magnificent Dark FamilyDarkness.
Since the dawn of time, humans have always feared the very concept of "darkness". Which is not surprising: after all, they rely mostly on their vision to get to know the world around them, and it is an instinctive reaction to be afraid of what cannot be known.
Over time, the fervid imagination of humans have filled the darkness with all sorts of terrifying creatures, whose very existance was to be a warning for the most daring souls: vampires, werewolves, zombies, ghosts, demons... Although they differ slightly from culture to culture, myths about such creatures have had the same function everywhere, for years, for centuries: nail humans to their own limits, teach them humility through fear, and ground them into living conservatively.
In the current world, thanks to wars, terrorism, weapons of mass destruction, accidents caused by human error, and daily incidents of murder, the atavic fear of humans has vanished, and with it, so has faith. Or rather, fear has not vanished, it is more correct to say it has been redirected: humans have grown to fear the actions of their own kind more than the darkness itself. Vampires, werewolves, zombies, ghosts, demons... Nobody is afraid of those creatures anymore, nobody believes in them anymore: the new convenient menaces, the new scapegoats towards which the fears and the negative feelings of humans are pointed, are other humans, guilty of bing of a different gender, sexual orientation, skin color, religion.
But still, despite such marvels having been heralded by the Progress, the new deity humans worship, the old fears still lurk somewhere, hiding deep within the hearts of weak individuals, ready to exploit the new marvels of mass communication to express themselves in new ways. And thus urban legends, rumors, conspiracy theories are born: these are the new myths human tell each other to remind themselves of the fact that fear is still an important part of them.
And when these fears get our of control, someone must investigate them, to see if a more real threat lurks behind them. Which is why now I...BLEEP BLEEP! BLEEP BLEEP!...Uh?BLEEP BLEEP! BLEEP BLEEP!Great, there goes my epic moment.Delta Delta, MI6 agent-in-training, reached for her mobile in hr pocket. She didn't stop to wonder how it could have any reception at all, considering she was now on a train that was proceeding underground: some calls didn't take official channels. That was one of those calls. You really HAD to call me right now, hadn't you?She said, answering the call. I was in the middle of an exposition-slash-internal monologue segment right there, you know...Well excuse me for interrupting your main character-esque delusions, almost agent. I guess they are more important than your last briefing before your mission starts.Snarked the voice on the other side. It was Delta's mission control, her reference should something go south, and the person she was supposed to report to afer wrapping everything up. The fact it was also her older brother Charlie didn't help. Listen Charlie, if you think you can bully me throughout this whole excuse of a mission just because you are my brother, know that...It's Major Delta to you untill the mission is over, almost agent. And you are right, this is propably a gigantic waste of time, but it is also your occasion to become a full-fledged agent, so don't screw it up: I want my little sister to succeed!Did you just utter some nice words?Shut up. So, in exactly 32 minutes you'll be in front of the school: your room in the dorm is ready and waiting for you, all you need to do is check in and get the key. Tomorrow morning you'll have your first lesson, so try and be nice to your new classmates, but not too nice, for God's sake, not too nice, I don't want some Azorian to lay his dirty hands on...Charlie, the mission. It's Major Delta to you. After succesfully making contact with the locals, you will begin investigating the rumors we collected about the paranormal crap that is allegedly interesting the area. In the highly unlikely eventuality that you actually find out anything, you shall report to me immediately. And in the much more likely eventuality that some jerk tries to hit on you...... I'll hit back. Hard. You know I was the best in the matial arts course. Anything else?Nothing really. Don't knife anybody if not strictly necessary, and avoid blowing your cover. On second thought, avoid all kinds of blo...Did you interrupt my awesome opening monologue just to tell me stuff I already knew and crack some tasteless sexual jokes? That and provide some comedy-flavored exposition on your backstory. I did a good job, didn't I ? Now get ready, you are almost there. Good luck Delta, you better come back a full-fledged agent.I will. She said, interrupting the communication. And it wasn't a promise, nor a boast born of overconfidence. She had merely stated the truth: she was going to breeze through that mission and make it to the main roster of the MI6. Just like her entire family before her. Roughly 28 minutes later, She was in front of the school's main building, her luggages right next to her. Mission initiated. She said to nobody in particular, as she looked around. She knew every square millimeter of that place from the maps she had studied in preparation for the mission, but being there in person was a completely different story. In order to efficiently find her way while establishing contact with locals, she concluded that asking someone for help was the best course of action at that point. I am a cute-looking new girl in a school-based roleplayShe thought If I just stand here looking lost, somebody will stop to offer help eventually. And indeed. she wasn't wrong.

| "Ahh... Today feels like a pretty awesome day." Feeling invigorated from his morning walk, Hikaru strolled towards Zela Academy, his messenger bag slung along his shoulder. He saw the students flow across the pathways, running or jogging to their classes or simply lounging around. The vibrant rays of the sun seemed to fill him with energy... "Wow... I think my transcendental side is showing..." Somebody caught his eye. There was a cute-looking girl standing next to the door, her luggage cases standing in a pile next to her. She seemed to be confused, disoriented even. He hadn't attended the school for longer than a week, but he believed that his map and inquisitive mind could solve her problem. Making sure to run at a jog, Hikaru approached the girl. "Excuse me, milady. Are you lost? Looking for somebody? I believe I can help you..." |

| Delta turned around: in front of her there was a blonde night with nice blue eyes, a much better first impact with the school that she would have expected. he took a moment to dissect him with a long, intent look: her brother had mentioned multiple times that she wasn't supposed to get too close to locals, but he had said nothing about checking out their build.
Let's see... I need to make a good first impact. I need to sound natural, a regular girl on her first day of school...
Ah yes, indeed I do believe you might be of help...
She thus said.
Truly, this just happens to be my first day in this renowned Academy and, while I have taken the due time to carefully study the map that came with the brochure, I have to say that being here in person is a completely different scenario. I therefore require somebody's assistance to find my directions given that, as a newcomer, it is my duty to throughly complete the check in procedure, take possession of my quarters, and find my way tothe class I will be attending starting tomorrow. Should you prove capable of providing such assistance, I will be sure to properly reward your generosity.
Perhaps I was a bit too formal?
... Also, the sesquipedalian loquaciousness I have displayed, well beyond what is supposed to be the average vocabulary of a young woman in her late teens, is most definitely not suspicious. Uh, totally.
Damn, I forgot to say "you know what I mean?" and to use "like" as a comma...

| Hikaru saw Delta's gaze fixate on him as he analyzed her. He was impressed by her unique diction; she sounded even more learned than Kumiko. He was hoping he had made a good impression, as her unique nature held his rapt attention. He smiled gently and reached for his map. "You seem pretty cool. I've never heard such elaborate diction coming from anybody but my sister. So, what year are you? It's my first year here, so I'm pretty new... I guess I can help find your dormitory." Hikaru fished his map out of his bag and unfolded it...
Only to have a strong gust of wind swipe it from his hands. Readying himself, Hikaru bolted after the map. As he jumped toward the map, he suddenly found himself leaping down the steps to grab it. As he grabbed the map in midair, he felt his foot catch on the railing, leaving him faceplanting on the ground. "Great, Hikaru... Way to fail in front of a cute girl."
Hikaru began the trek back to Delta, wiping some spots of blood from his face and pointed down the side path. "Looks like we go this way." Hikaru lead Delta toward the dormitories, embaressed at his fumble.
