After it all cleared, the Other Mae would be back to her original self, sobbing weakly on the ground. "I just wanted freedom....those stupid things....all they did was get me hurt..."- Shuffle Time:

| Mae had been lying on the ground, watching the struggle between her Shadow Self and Julian. There was so much about all this that she did not understand, but seeing how ferociously her doppelgänger had been fighting back, it reminded her of something. Back at the orphanage... She felt trapped, suffocated by the fact that she did not have any parents. And watching her friends get accepted by families before herself wasn't making things better... Sometimes, there are things beyond our control which hurts... However, all Mae had wanted at the time was acceptance. Assuming her shadow self still had those feelings, like herself, Mae looked at Julian, slowly standing up on her two feet, slightly shaken, but overall okay. "Thank you, Julian. I don't know what would've happened if you hadn't showed up... I guess it's partway my fault, for not accepting her..." Mae slowly walked over to her Shadow, kneeling by it's side. " I'm sorry things aren't going in your favor... It happens to us all, it's frustrating, and I understand where you are coming from... We ARE one and the same after all. Now, all we have to do is come to terms with these feelings... Right, Me?". Mae embraced her shadow in a friendly manner, before whispering in her ear. " Everything is going to be just fine... | Other Mae looked at her with a frown. "Nothing is okay. Those guys in the sky just wanted to test you, or give me freedom. I shouldn't exist, but when you came in here, I had to.....maybe you'll figure it out soon..." she said, as she leaned back, and soon the labored breathings on her person stopped. An azure flash would follow, and her body would transform into what appeared to be a flaming blue unicorn, which looked at Mae for a moment before disappearing into a card that depicted the Magician Arcana and floated into her hands and vanish into blue pearls. Once that was done, she would see the glowing areas turn into images of the school, a school she was very familiar with. She now had her power over Persona, and could travel through the rifts that she had already begun to see recently. | |

| // Thank God that's over... // Geez, that was a whole lot different than the other Shadows he'd faced before. For one, he was on his own for this one. Not to mention that the other Shadows never switched between human-shaped and monstrous before. That was a new one. Now he'd have to be extra careful when going through these worlds; never knew when an innocent bystander was about to morph into another beast. It was good to see that Mae was alright and standing on her own. While carrying her wouldn't be too big of a problem, he would prefer not to after that fight. It was--wait, what was she doing? "Mae, don't-!" he tried to grab her arm and pull her back, but he was just a little too slow. What was she thinking? She just saw the doppelganger turn into a huge fucking Minotaur and her first thought right after it went to its normal size was to go up and start talking to it? Was she insane? He didn't dare try and pull her away when she was already at its side, so instead he just looked on tersely, keeping his soulbound weapon at the ready should it try anything. His brow furrowed when it said "the guys in the sky". What did that mean? Emmilene had mentioned gods before, but she never specified that they lived in the heavens. Was it referring to them, or something else entirely? He'd have to ask the other Users he knew. Maybe they'd run into something recently that could fill in the blanks. // So this is what Hyde meant...? // Julian thought, watching in surprise as a familiar tarot card appeared in front of Mae. He'd come to associate those cards with personas after his time with Emmilene, so it didn't take too long for him to figure out what was going on. So the other way people got personas...was to kill certain Shadows? Was that what Hyde did when he said he "fought" to get his persona? ...Geez, this trip was bringing up more questions than answers. Running his hand through his bangs, Julian looked over at Mae wearily before giving a small smile. "Hey." he called, coming up behind her and resting his hand lightly on her shoulder. "You feeling okay?" If she seemed exhausted or unable to stand on her own, he'd pull her to her feet. If she was fine, he'd let her stand on her own. "C'mon, it's time to get you home." Explanations and all that could wait 'til later. First things first: get out before more Shadows popped up. With that in mind, he'd head to the closest portal with Mae in tow, hurrying to get them both home in order to rest. -Exit- | |

| " Y-yeah... I'm just exhausted... It feels like I've been running for a good couple of hours non-stop... How about you?" Mae could feel her consiousness dwindle. She suddenly felt very exhausted... " Persona, huh...?" She grabbed a hold of Julian's outstretched hand, and got back on her feet. " By the way... How do we g-..." Mae stopped herself when she looked at the previously blue holes. They were still holes, but of a different kind. " -et home? Through those?". She pointed a shaky finger towards one of the many rifts. " Uh, my knees are so shaky I can barely stand up... Mind if I...?" She leaned on Julian for support as the two exited through the nearest Rift back to Azores. "--You did great Mae... My name is Qilin, your persona.
