Those blue doors... the Velvet Room, as she had heard it was called before, was right past them. Rita still couldn't believe this was all happening right now, it was all so... well, unbelievable. Lola introduced her to the Room, also saying that those doors were actually how you entered the room itself... well, worth a shot, right? As she touched and turned the nob of the blue door in front of her, Rita made sure no-one was watching as she entered the Velvet Room, setting down her bag beside her and sitting on the chair in front of the long-nosed man while looking around the entirety of the sunken ship-like blue room, entranced in how it all came together.

"Huh..." Only a small mutter would come out of her mouth as she took in the view of the entire room, then each of the attendants present, one by one. After that, she'd take note of a billboard sitting just there in the room with a picture of each of the Attendants and a description of their jobs underneath, listing one particular Attendant that stood out to her, one Justine... apparently, she'd help new people get acquainted with battles by sparring with them or some such... well, worth a shot, right?

From her encounters with Lola, Rita knew that these people would be more than willing to help so, walking up to the specific Attendant in question, Rita spoke a bit shyly since she wasn't used to this, probably ruining any chance of making her look serious on this.

"U-um, hello. Y-you're Justine-san, right? It was listed on the billboard there that you give some lessons to Users on how to fight... is that right?" Fidgeting slightly, Rita scratched her head with a bit of a blush before shaking it and bowing slightly. "Ah, well, what I mean is... can you please teach me how to fight properly?" Hoping that the other Attendants weren't in range to hear that, Rita just got back into her normal position, still blushing but still knowing that the girl would most likely help her... most likely being the key expression here, Rita wasn't very sure of it at all.

Justine was trying to figure out how to juggle a single book in her hands until she saw Rita, a new guest show up! New Attendants got all the fun, and she never got to say hi to people. She flailed her arms in joy and grinned like a child. "Okay! Come with meeeeeeee~!" she said. She would skip off down the hallway of the sunken ship and open the first door on the left, which would open to an oddly large wooden room, perfectly stable and indestructible on the inside, and large for the ship, but still mystically contained within the magic of the Velvet Room. If Rita followed, she would begin to straighten her posture and float half a foot above the ground and would toss her book up and down several times before opening it up to a random page. "I won't do much, just come at me like you wanna kill me, and I will grade you! Tell me when you want to stop! Good luck!" she said.

...was that really all? Man, she was worried about nothing after all, what a relief... well, not like it'd be worrisome to have such a fun Attendant train her so she followed her down into the large wooden room and watched as she got into her posture.

"I-Is that really it? W-well.. alright then." Of course, now wasn't the time to falter, Rita wanted to train so she'd follow all instructions given... well, time to begin.

"O fire of Rome, appear by my side..." With a single call, the Aestus Estus would appear on Rita's hand as her stance would shift into an attacking one, her free hand already having grabbed her Evoker and held it tightly so it wouldn't slip, Rita would probably need to summon Nero later on so it'd be wise to have it out just in case...

"Okay then, let's start..." She was still somewhat shy but willing to learn... it was just something that she needed to do so she could help protect her friends better.

[PvP Style Combat Initiated]

Getting into sprinting position, Rita would focus straight on the Attendant before giving a mad dash to shorten the distance between them to about a meter before swinging her sword in a wide arc to meet the Attendant's body, though still would give her enough time to dodge should she be able to back up about twenty centimeters in that time. Afterwards, Rita'd crouch down slightly and give two quick thrusts with the tip of her sword like if it was a rapier, using only half the hilt to hold it and therefore increasing its overall reach by about 11 centimeters coupled with the thrusting distance of her arm, which would be little more than 60 centimeters. All this would be performed in a smooth motion as her arcing slash finished and she hit the ground, proving her dexterity with a sword.

PostSubject: Re: Time for a Warm-up [Attendant Justine practice battle]   Time for a Warm-up [Attendant Justine practice battle] EmptyMon Dec 08, 2014 5:57 pm

Justine took note of Her quick slashes with her blade. However, her wide arc was rather noticeable and in response, Justine would put her book to the side of her and block the first cut from her sword with her very own Compendium, taking the parry route rather than moving out of the way. Presumably Rita would still be moving mid-attack, so as she crouched, Justine would use her body to move around her Compendium as though she were adjusting herself, by holding the Compendium where she struck, and pivoting around it to leave her at Rita's side as she would be thrusting. She twirled her legs away just in case she meant to thrust at them, or if it were her face, would be pulling it back at the time of the pivot. Once the fluid motion was done, she would be floating back slowly, starting to make distance between the two, though not much. "You gotta aim somewhere in particular! Also, make sure that you have options if they move out of the way!" As she said this with a playful giggle; clearly having fun, the sound of cracked glass could be heard as her Compendium closed, and a figure appeared in front of her, around six feet tall, with a long spear.

Time for a Warm-up [Attendant Justine practice battle] Latest?cb=20120304075838

The Persona would began to thrust his spear towards her, about half the spear extending, since he was holding it down the middle; the spear itself growing a large green aura around the tip which extended around to the size of a beachball like a dome as it thrust towards Rita. It was clear this was a magical attack, with the power of wind behind it. Being a spear, it had long range, but due to the nature of the attack, it's field of fire was only so much, and spears did not make good swiping weapons in and of itself, so it would not be completely safe to swing it if Rita were to deflect it or move to the side. On the other hand, the Persona was near her, so the range was enough to hit her if she did not find her way out of it. Were it to hit, Rita would be knocked over due to her current position, though if Rita were to evade, he would pull the spear back and stand his ground as Justine danced around in the suspended animation she was in, as the music from the room played in the background.

It was skillful bookplay, for sure, but what impressed Rita most was the girl's ability to summon a Persona and use it as she did, with a technique that took advantage of the spear's reach to directly throw the spell at her... interesting, for sure, but Rita's natural senses just made her able to see the thrust coming since it was a spear and have her body act in a way that'd make her roll off to the side to avoid the attack and then immediately use her Evoker, which was already in her hand, to summon her Persona onto the field.

"Just take care of him however you can..." With that mutter, Nero nodded her head and dashed to slash the Attendant's Persona with a Cleave as soon as his attack finished, using her relatively above-average speed to close the short distance between the two Personae enough so that she'd be able to quickly slash the man with an uppercut.

In the meanwhile, Rita would get up from her crouch and sprint to meet Justine's position before jumping slightly and slashing as she twirled in the air with her sword out, aiming at nowhere in particular as long as the hits landed on the Attendant. After landing and if Justine had been able to dodge her previous attack, Rita would then right her position, which should be facing the Attendant according to the nature of her attack, she'd then fake-thrust her weapon to Justine's side before turning its edge around and slashing at her abdomen.

When her Persona attacked, Justine's Persona was hit as he stood in one place, though in the process, he would flip his spear and stick it to the ground between Rita and her Persona, which would send off a flurry of winds at ground level that reached around ankle height and stretched several meters around the origin point, which would go straight for Rita and her Persona who was currently in front of Justine's own. Were it to hit Rita as she was jumping, it would make her lose her balance and fall over, as it was essentially like a rug was being swiftly pulled from under her as she fell while attacking at Justine, who herself would simply move to Rita's side once more since she wasn't precise in her aiming. She allowed the second strike to cut across her, though it looked as though no damage had been done to her, like she was alright. She would respond with a smack from her right to Rita's face with her book before floating back even more, whether her attacks worked or failed. "Be precise, and look out! Don't forget your Persona! It is a part of you, so make sure you use it to help you, or you leave it in trouuuuuuuuuuuuuubllllllle~," she advised, watching the young lady fight.

In the heat of the battle, Nero managed to catch a glimpse of Justine's Persona flipping his spear and, in response, would swing around and stick her sword in the same point, a flurry of fire erupting and engulfing around that point, keeping the wind attack from dispersing and, thanks to Nero's natural affinity with Fire and her Fire Boost, overpower and make the area burst into a fiery mantle around the general area of her battle with Justine's Persona that would spread to around the same intended range as the Male Persona's attack, directly aimed to hit both him and his user.

In succession of this, Rita wouldn't, of course, be tripped and instead landed upright only to be hit by Justine's book. In response, though, she'd wipe the area where she hit her while stumbling slightly to the back before steeling her foothold and grasping her weapon tighter. Putting away her Evoker since Nero was out, Rita grabbed her sword with both hands and would swing to hit Justine's left arm. If she were able to dodge, though, Rita would reverse her sword into an arc and aim directly to slash at whatever new position she may be in, though she'd aim to slash upwards from Justine's left hip to her right shoulder. Afterwards and if Justine was able to dodge her previous attack, Rita would then thrust her sword aimed straight at Justine's chest, where she assumed a heart would be, though having no idea whether Attendants had physical hearts or not.

Watching her Persona act with speed was just exhilerating. Her Persona was hit again, but in response, Cu Chulainn would send its spear foward twice into Nero's chest, acting as a double-hit physical attack. Taking the hit would be no problem, as long as he could use a physical skill to go right through his magical abilities that were aimed for the ground. Two jabs would be sent to Nero at point-blank range as he was using his skill. Afterwards, the Persona would vanish into the Compendium. Since the powered Maragi was going straight for Justine in a similar circle, it would also put Rita in danger if she was not paying attention, since it was stronger, it had a larger range to cover Rita's position and her own. Since Rita was moving to strike her left, still backing up, but only needed to shift to her right to dodge her first strike, and watching Rita aim in an upward arc, decided to be a cheater and letting the flames hurt her seeing as how Rita is closer to the actual attack than Justine is and both have the potential to be hit since hers has longer range and probably moves a bit quicker, but in exchange, ducking under her second slash and twirling her body to send a low kick under her feet in an attempt to knock her down into her own attack or at least knock her off balance. "Be careful! Don't get caught in your own mess!" After the act, she would return to the ground and run backwards, keeping an eye, but breathing out her mouth like she was running the reverse 100-meter dash.

PostSubject: Re: Time for a Warm-up [Attendant Justine practice battle]   Time for a Warm-up [Attendant Justine practice battle] EmptyThu Dec 11, 2014 6:06 am

Since Nero was using her sword to still send a Maragi all along the ground, she couldn't dodge Cu Chulainn's attack but, in consequence of the attack, Nero's sword would be pulled out of the ground and the attack stopped as well since its source had vanished, though it had still stayed in long enough to hit Cu Chulainn that time. Stumbling back, Nero righted her position as the male Persona vanished into Justine's Compendium, fading into Rita's soul in a similar fashion.

Now, since the attack stopped, both Justine and Rita wouldn't be able to be hit by it anymore, though Rita still admired how the Attendant moved with precision and, honestly, like an expert even if she didn't look it. As the low kick came in, Rita was indeed tripped but stabbed her sword into the ground below her, creating a bit of leverage to right herself and then jump using all her strength to catch up to the Attendant. Assuming she was in position, Rita would, upon landing, then thrust her sword straight for Justine's throat with an emotionless face. If she was able to dodge that attack, Rita would then swipe at her legs in a low arc before twirling her sword upwards to slice diagonally through the Attendant's chest.

Since Rita had cancelled her hit, Justine would never have gotten hit and lost any of her strength from her flames, which were most scary! Though when she chased her, telegraphing at her position at least and made for the stab, Justine felt like doing something new and while opening her Compendium to duck and stop moving back, she'd grab her blade by holding on to the spine of her book and closing it around her blade, pushing up and attempting to catch her off guard and cause her to let go of her weapon, or to close in distance. As she pushed up, she would allow her book to slide down the blade before pulling it off the blade long enough to, once again, attempt to smack Rita upside the head. "You don't want to stop moving when you attack if the opponent is moving as well! Get in close! You would have had me if you kept moving in, cause now I know!" But apart from that, Rita was not doing poorly at all. Had Justine not been running backwards, Rita's attacks would have definitely hit their mark. She has no lack of speed, but she is lacking precision and conviction in a fight. Whether her "booksmack" worked or not, she would lift a leg to kick off of Rita's chest to attempt to push her to the ground or at least away from her. If Rita found a way around Justine's parry, she would be most impressed, because it would be hard to avoid it, though the stabbing forward required weight to make it mean anything, so hopefully her plan would catch her off guard! Humanity can come up with so many things in a quick heated moment!  But had this all worked, Justine would have another card float to her Compendium, and crushing it with her book, would unleash a new Persona, about a foot tall, and floating above Justine's head, sticking her tongue out at Rita as a sort of playful taunt.

Yes, Rita's movements were telegraphed, but Justine made a big mistake in thinking that just a simple grab would catch Rita off-guard. While she was surprised and definitely wasn't able to execute her following moves, due to the nature of the sword itself and its rough blade with many jagged edges, Justine wouldn't logically be able to simply "slide" her book down her blade unless she let go gradually of her book.

Weapon Image:

Though Rita still felt the pressure from the Attendant pushing up on the sword, her natural arm strength made it possible to keep it stable enough for her next actions. In turn, if the book did slide down, then there would be no pressure on her arm and she's still be able to quickly execute her next move before Justine had a chance to smack her as was her objective.

At this opening, Rita laid the weapon on its side with a quick flick of the wrist before slicing rightwards to hopefully remove the book from Justine's hands and, in turn, her sword. Afterwards, Rita would simply thrust her sword forward since Justine should still be in front of her, aiming to stab her through the chest.

If this stab failed, Rita would then thrust in a drill-like motion at her throat and then slice down the middle of her chest from that position. Should Justine still have summoned Pixie even after all that, Rita would stick her tongue out in response with a smirk on her face.

Watching Rita push back on her blade would bring a grin from Justine, as she allowed her Compendium to be knocked out of her hand, only to have it appear back in her hands after Rita would cut her, and after her large stab was finished, would attempt to bop her once in the head again, grinning and attempting to either get Rita away, or get her and the blade away by throwing her book at her face and at the same time, kicking off of her chest, acting like nothing happened from that stab. Being right up against her, there was little room for Justine to act, but then, that also put her in Prime position to smack her around a little. These Attendants sure didn't seem phased by being stabbed literally in the soul by a weapon forged from the soul of a user. But what can you do? She would summon Pixie in the meantime, and begin to back away, as Pixie would land to the ground and from her, a circle of pure ice that reached around five meters in diameter around Justine began to cover the floor in ice, which would definitely pass under Rita in distance unless she was able to run backwards quickly. It was not meant to hurt Rita, but rather make it even harder to travel on, for if Rita was in this range, running would simply be a mess for her.

Being hit in the head was certainly surprising and did throw Rita for a loop, though it made it so she'd crouch down slightly in response while rubbing her head after a tiny whimper as Justine hit her. As the book was thrown at her, Rita couldn't really react as fast due to still being in a daze from the first bop, resulting in her stumbling backwards and falling on her rear from the kick to her chest.

Shaking her head, Rita got quickly back up while also removing her Evoker from its holster and summon her Persona, preparing for whatever may come since Justine had just summoned Pixie. Once it was clear the intention of the freezing attack, Rita would stab her weapon into the ground to have some foothold before turning at Nero, who had already stomped the ground with her war boots to dig into the ice and stabilize her position.

Afterwards, Nero would simply raise her sword up as it erupted in flames which she would then promptly throw in a wide arc to cover a pretty big area around Justine and her Persona, also being hot enough to melt the ice on the floor. Watching slightly amazed at her Persona's actions, Rita took note of the ice disappearing and retook her stance once more, waiting for the fire to vanish along with her Persona before sprinting to meet Justine's position again.

After all this had been done and regardless of whether or not Justine or her Persona had avoided the attack, Rita would literally roundhouse kick Justine in the stomach before using the momentum generated to swing her sword in a wide arc, her body moving forward slightly to match with however fast Justine was going. In sequence to this attempt and once again regardless of whether it was successful or not, Rita summoned her Persona once again while backing off slightly to avoid Pixie but still be able to focus on Justine.

As expected, she would fight back with her own Persona. Justine had only one solution to this madness….and by that, she meant to make more madness! Pixie made a sort of Superman gesture straight up into the air, and from beneath the two lovely ladies, a pillar of ice would push from the ground up to about human height in total (about six feet) and thick enough to hold Justine on a platform of ice the Persona herself would be floating in front of her with her wings. She would watch as the flames below from her Persona tickled the Icy pillar, but would do nothing overall and merely be repelled by the ice. This was a stronger attack, able to keep her flames at bay due to the difference in power, which in reality was not much, but it was enough to where it did not hurt Justine’s ice tower. Rita would essentially be kicking frozen ice at the moment. In response, she would throw her book at her as she would make her swipes, and even if she didn’t, she would aim for her body and throw her book. Either way, at the end of her target practice, her book would return to her hand. She wondered what Rita would do to get around this maneuver.

PostSubject: Re: Time for a Warm-up [Attendant Justine practice battle]   Time for a Warm-up [Attendant Justine practice battle] EmptySun Dec 14, 2014 10:32 am

At the sight of the towers erupting from the ground, Rita would obviously be shocked enough to stop her attack immediately, though she didn't really notice Justine's actions at all, making it so she'd be hit another time but it still wouldn't be enough to knock her off balance, seeing as she was actually prepared this time and the attacks weren't really continuous.

Afterwards, Rita would simply back up for a second while thinking, Nero coming up behind her and putting a hand on her shoulder.
"To be driven this far into a corner... My Praetor, I believe this warrants the use of my Golden Theater at last."

Rita's eyes would widen at her words, only audible to her, of course, but still very shocking that her Persona would actually suggest that on her own. With a nod, Rita stepped back and stabbed her sword into the ground while Nero simply vanished into her mind like she was possessing her owner, twisting even her appearance slightly as to where Rita's normally black eyes shone a bright emerald color and her silver locks would turn vaguely blonde for a split second.

To execute the attack, Rita removed her sword from the ground before throwing it in the air and giving a quick twirl as a magic circle appeared around her. When she finished this action, she'd catch her sword in the air and immediately give three quick slashes to her front that would send just enough energy to repel any attacks that may be coming her way. Afterwards, she'd stab her sword into the ground again as the scenery changed into an illusory one of a Golden Theater, bathed in an artificial Sun's rays.

Her mind now clear of all thought, Rita simply extended her hand as the distinct shape of a Light-based attack's magic circle appeared in front of it before firing a wide beam that would envelop both Justine and her Persona easily, though only in front of Rita. If the attack had the expected force, the pillars of ice would be simply wiped to dust by the sheer strength of the attack, while Justine and Pixie would suffer heavy damage, though she still doubted it'd be enough to completely knock either of them off the battle for good.

After this was all said and done, Rita felt a sharp pain on her sides as the Theater vanished, leaving with them the room where they'd been before. Due to the pain, Rita stumbled to her knees while using her sword to keep herself from outright falling onto the ground. During this interval, Rita would put away her Evoker, seeing as Nero's presence had clearly diminished and she even told her beforehand, some time ago, that using this attack would mean that her Persona would need to "recharge" for quite some time...
