| Lumyr Raizen would not remember falling asleep. Though he would feel a sensation of falling, before a force that violently shook him, letting the young man wake up in the rundown streets of Standasen Island in the literal middle of road. Everything at first may have seemed normal, but several things were glaringly out of place for a native of the place. To begin with, he could hear no sound. The sound of the rain was not there, nor the few people that appeared to be talking. Nothing but silence. There also appeared to be no vehicles coming his way. And the final unsettling motif to this odd place was the noticeably thick red fog, covering the town and turning any person he may be able to see into a silhouette, hidden in the shadows beneath the red. Lumyr would only have a few moments to take in this odd sight before he’d be able to see the silhouettes slowly vanishing from view, and soon, the rain began to subside, leaving Lumyr seemingly alone in the heart of the Lumiere District, surrounded by red fog. All was quiet, eerily so, and it truly felt that even in this part of the island, he was truly alone. Though it seemed that he would be alone no more for the most part, as in the midst of all the silence and red, a single black butterfly began to fly down in front of Lumyr, flapping it’s dark wings and hovering at eye level and seemed to stare at the boy. The butterfly then began to turn around and fly away slowly, taking its time rather than simply fleeing him, and vanished into one of the various alleyways on Lumyr’s right, leaving him in the red fog once more. | |

| "The fuck?!"
Lumyr jumped up, riled by the sudden awakening. His head was killing him for no explainable reason, and he couldn't even recall what he was doing beforehand.
Must've been pretty rough to pass out in the middle of the street... how did I get away with that, anyway?
After getting over the initial confusion of the situation, he looked around to notice his neighborhood was barren. Or, perhaps it would be more fitting to say it was more barren than usual. No sounds from neither people nor the pelting rain, and the most unsettling of all was the deep crimson fog wrapping itself comfortably around the area. It was so strong that the people that were around could not be seen to any comfortable degree. Eventually they faded from view, and as they did, the rain also stopped simultaneously.
"This had better be a nightmare. It had better be a GOD DAMN nightmare! What's going on here?!"
Lumyr looked around desperately for any sign of normalcy, but none was to be found. Even though he would have ignored the existence of the people anyway, it was reassuring to know that human life was at least present. This, however, was much more eerie.
He could feel his stomach twisting, unsure of what to make of this unnatural situation.
Mysteriously, he calmed down slightly when a strange black butterfly came into view, moving right in front of him and holding its place for a moment before moving on. There was something strange about the butterfly that made Lumyr curious. Its movements didn't seem akin to a normal butterfly, and he couldn't recall the last time he had seen a purely black butterfly. Was it an omen or a coincidence that this butterfly happened to appear in the midst of this rather strange circumstance? Lumyr had the urge to follow it, with nothing else in mind other than to stay near the only other living thing in sight.
"Hey, wait!"
He walked briskly after the butterfly, who appeared to move idly by rather than shoo itself from him. Almost as if this was what it intended. The boy didn't think about it either way, as his mind was too focused on why the world suddenly became the way it was. He didn't expect the butterfly to have any answers, but at least until he could find another living person the fluttering bug would have to suffice. As he maneuvered he tried his best to keep sight of the butterfly; the fog proved to make this difficult, however.
"Grrr... what's going on here?"

| As Lumyr followed the butterfly around the corner, he’d notice that the fog was not as thick in the alleyway though noticeably still permeating. Once more, the butterfly would be gone, and in its place, several meters away, was a young man, with white hair, wearing a black shirt with white highlights and baggy pants. His steps away from Lumyr were the only audible thing he could hear, that is, until he stopped, and turned his head around to look at the one behind them…It was the spitting image of Lumyr Raizen, minus the golden eyes, and the bored expression as though he was unimpressed with what he was looking at. He sighed. “So this is how the boy chases after me. Though, it is perhaps natural for humans to be panicked in an unfamiliar situation,” the figure spoke in a distorted version of Lumyr’s voice, like it was both him and a malevolent entity speaking at once.
This boy certainly took initiative though. Perhaps he was going to be the one He was looking for. “This place horrifies you yes? Do not worry, you are safe at the moment. What you see is a potential fate of the world you now live in. An unseen calamity has befallen your realm, and there are those who wish to bring about this fate to it. But I take it that it doesn’t bother you too much? A child like you has no need to seek their ending do they? Nobody to help you, does that not phase you? You do seem very void and stagnant, yet possess the true potential that no one understands…” the voice said, in an almost mocking tone, belittling the man and speaking as though it oddly knew about what Lumyr was like. The look-alike smirked and held open his hand, and a black butterfly swooped to it and rested on his palm. “Tell me, Lumyr Raizen. What would you do if you had the ability to wipe away your enemies, or cleanse those of their selfish ways? Or rather, what would you do with the power to change the world?” he asked, his smirk practically plastered to his face as though the very conversation amused him.

| Lumyr took in all the things this identical figure was saying, in absolute shock and awe. He almost perfectly replicated the boy in every way, right down to the disturbing truth. He began to tense up, almost unable to believe what was happening. Perhaps it was a dream? Denial was beginning to set in for the young student. It couldn't be real, could it?
Whether what was happening was real, it definitely felt as if it was all happening. He pinched himself to be sure, and felt every bit the amount of pain he was expecting to receive from such a gesture. Deciding to play along either way, he opened his mouth to respond.
"Power...?" he muttered, a mischievous smile crawling across his face.
He motioned towards his look-alike, a knowing gaze piercing into his other self.
"Listen. I dunno what kind of guy you think I am, but I need to ask... what kind of power could you possibly give me that could possibly allow me to change the world? I'm just a jellybag stuffed in a meat container. A damned-by-god human. What could you possibly offer me? And who the hell are you, anyway?"
Lumyr was now right in his twin's face, looking almost as if about to clash heads. He was skeptical, after all. After suffering from a feeling of inferiority for so long, what could he possibly be given at this stage in his life that would put him above others? Such a thing didn't seem possible to Lumyr. Almost too perfect.

| The look-alike looked at Lumyr with a simple straight face as they were approached, and after the boy finished talking, he shook his head then doubled over and laughed. “For someone so curious, you sure don’t trust easy. What a contradiction worthy of a human like you. But indeed you are merely a human, though you do not know when to look a gift horse in the mouth, as you humans so put it,” he said. Turning away, he’d walk a few feet away, before turning his head back around. His eyes seemed to glow crimson for a brief second, and a wave of pain would suddenly hit Lumyr’s head, like a migraine that came on so quickly, the debilitating pain would send him to his knees. The pain would last for a short moment, and when it stopped, Lumyr would be able to see a large mechanical-looking beast in front of him, that looked like something out of a Greek myth and just taken and recreated through technology. “I can give you power. This power will be your tool to create or destroy what you want, defeat your enemies, and make your ideal world, I hear there are several others who wish for a cause such as this. They too need their Reason. And you can potentially use them to fulfill your desires. Why waste the opportunities you get with an offer and simply utilize the tools you need? You can receive your true purpose with this power and find the Answer you deserve.” He said. The being stood between the two as it looked down upon him, studying the boy. Did he have the resolve to take a deal and sign his fate away to finding his true purpose? Only time would tell to see if he accepts this gracious offer, one that only the Crawling Chaos could give him. | |

| "Rgh... what did you do to me...?"
Lumyr collapsed to his knees, clutching his head in pain. Was it merely a trick of the eye, or did his twin's eyes briefly change colors for a moment? Lumyr could not discern fact from fiction or dream from reality. Whatever was happening at this current moment was most definitely real, but it was beyond his current comprehension.
When the boy had finally managed to collect his thoughts, the swelling feeling in his head had subsided. He looked up to see a gigantic freak of nature. Its form was melancholic. It seemed to possess the appearance of one who had fallen spectacularly and risen once more out of pure spite. One angered at the perfection of those around it. Lumyr somehow felt drawn to this beast during a period where he- and anyone, for that matter- would run and never look back.
Lumyr stood up, looking straight into the metallic husk before him, and then to his look-alike once more. He nodded.
"Assuming this isn't one shitty nightmare, I..."
He paused a moment, shifting his eyes around the ground. It felt like a major decision he would be making. After a minute's pondering, he looked back up with a fire in his eyes.
"I'll take you up on that offer. I don't really know what you're talking about, but an opportunity to become superior to those other idiots around me is one I won't pass up."

| When he agreed, the creature looked to him and spoke with a synthetic female voice. “I am Medusa. Do not disappoint me Child,” she said before turning blood read, and appeared to melt before his very eyes into a red puddle. The puddle would again shift on the ground under Lumyr and then vanish. Lumyr could feel a second presence forming in his head, the presence of his Persona, Medusa. “That will not be your only gift received.” As the look-alike said this, the black butterfly in his palm flew over to Lumyr and began to break up into tiny fragments which went into his face, though would vanish and not be felt if he tried to reach to touch his head. His mind would feel as though it expanded, or stretched rather, a feeling hard to describe. “For each human you make into your ally or tool or however you will, more demons and gods will be available to you as you grow. You will have the perfect situation for anything, and will be able to end your foes.” He said. Giving him a brief moment to ponder his new potential, he would wave his hand, and suddenly an opening appeared in the literal space before him in the shape of an oval that glowed pink. Inside the oval, Lumyr could see flashes of the islands he lived in, though he could also see small ovals around the streets, though for some reason, it began to change.
What was strange was that the portals in the streets in the flashes of the islands he saw began to vanish and turn into odd splotches of otherworldly proportion. The portals where they stood were instead gone, and the small area around it looked as though it was a large paint stain as though someone literally dumped a bucket of paint under where the portal was to make an uneven pattern, and in that pattern were things that could not possibly exist there. For example, where one portal was in Standasen, in the stain there appeared to be an end of a dirty pathway next to part of a marsh that seemed to cut off at the odd uneven splotch. In San Malarus, it was raining in the splotches and seemingly no where else. Even the portal that was just brought in this area was starting to flicker as a splotch began to form under it, which made the look-alike raise his eyebrow in curiosity and then laugh. It seemed that every island in the flashes he saw had odd openings that leaked parts of the parallel worlds into the Azores Lumyr was all too familiar with.“Hahaha! It seems some of the ones behind what is going on is starting to speed up the process.” He looked to Lumyr, with a sort of foreboding smile. “What were originally there were portals that lead you to different parallel worlds depending on which island you entered the portals on. But while it seems you can still use them, someone is trying to hijack them for their own use! I wonder who it is, or what their stake in this is? Hahahaha!” he laughed. “You may want to explore those worlds when you return, I bet something is going on right now, and soon this whole change will be complete. Perhaps you should check the immediate areas in your home. How will your worlds end up? You'll find your ending and answer to your reason for living right?” he said. He didn’t really care one way or another, but he was certainly interested in seeing what his new tool would do with his newfound power. If Lumyr were to walk through the portal, he would wake up in his own bed, in Standasen minus the red fog, and his doppelganger nowhere to be found. He'd also be able to see the portals acting unnaturally, going through that change before turning into portions of other worlds he could simply walk through to enter. What was going to happen now to their worlds now that whoever was behind this was doing what they are doing?
